Designing A Rainwater Collection System 2023.08.10

Interested in capturing and
storing rainwater for garden
and landscape irrigation or
fire suppression?
Participants will learn about
beneficial uses of rainwater
catchment systems, design
and components of those
systems, appropriate
collection surfaces, pre-storage filtration, and
tank storage options. This introductory class
will include exercises to help estimate water
demand and collection potential, as well as
sizing of storage tanks,
gutters, and downspouts.
Jim Reiland of Many Hands Builders is a
former licensed contractor specializing in
rainwater catchment systems. He has designed
and installed over 50 systems in Jackson County.
