Thanks for the vid currently 4 am, studied for 4hrs+ to the wrong paper this helps a lot. I'm going to sleep and rewatching your video and make notes. Wish me luck and again thanks for the wonderful resource
what is the best way to revise for the non fiction writing? just knowing the structures or practice writing lots of different types? also if we got a question to write a review about something what could they ask to write a review about?
What should I do to be that 'human dictionary' then? Do we need to put in subject terminology (like how 'huffing and puffing' was an example of onomatopoeia) for the 10-mark questions?

@@BPCEnglish thanks for that, i have been using your videos for my previous exams aswell. does tnat mean im more likely to not get a 7. what do you think
Not at all. Remember: this exam is all about quotes with brief commentary. But like I say, you will need to discuss terminology in Q2/4&6, and compare in question 6 to get higher grades.
@@BPCEnglish thanks for letting me know. and also i have been using your videos for my other english exams not knowing i had to do extra to get a grade 7 does that mean im probably not going to get a 7 wat do you think
Question five is a low mark question which means it’s comprehension. You can get 8 out of 10 on question six by doing the process I have done in my video. To get full marks on question six, you need to compare and to explain your points.
@@BPCEnglish but the question says compare their actions/behaviours and their feelings so how can you get 8/10 simply by picking quotes out the text and jot them down on the answer booklet if it works like that then it buys more time for me to spend more time on section B
This might seem like a silly question but when i do my explanation for a quote do i need to say 'this word... suggests' or should i just explain juts using the longer phrase?
Let’s say the question is, ‘How does the writer show the fire is becoming more serious?’ An example PEE could be the following: The writer shows the fire becoming more serious with the quote, ‘It GOBBLED everything in its path.’ This word suggests the fire is destroying the house in big chunks and at great speed.
hi sir i wanted to ask you , so we can use pee short ones for the 10 markers in 3 of the 10 markers adn can we write 10 short pees and get full marks ?
Yes, but it would be easier to do it on a real film or book. However, you can do what you want. The examiner is marking your English, and not your film choice.
You probably will only get eight or 9 out of 10 without talking about terminology. The trick is to not just say something is a simile or personification etc. You have to say the EFFECT of the terminology on the reader.
@@BPCEnglishah i feel really disheartened now😭 my teacher has given out 10/10 even without the usage of subject terminology but oh well! thanks for all your help and do you have any last minute tips for a 9?
@gamingwithizzy7375 you don’t have to use terminology if you’ve used some really great quotes and made a number of excellent points. My advice would be to do the exam questions in the following order following my videos: Q1, Q3, Q5, Q6, Q2, & Q4. Get the easy questions out of the way and then really focus on the two language questions at the end
For the 10 markers do i need 10 quotes? My teacher has never mentioned this. This new information. My teacher said u know 1-2 quotes per paragraph, the same structure as i write literature paragraohs. This how ive answered paper 1 atleast so am i loosing alot of marks im really worried now.
Sir, for question 6, can i format my answer exactly like how its on your slide, what i mean is can i just put the text name as the title and do 5 bullet pees underneath?
Yes. However, I don’t do PEEs on question six. I do it just like in my video. So basically do a little sentence starter with the quote embedded. This will get you 8 out of 10. If you are looking for nine or 10 marks, you will need to do a PEE and compare.
@olliepalmer2771 for the higher grades, compare on question six, and use terminology and the effect of that terminology for Q2 & Q4. Also, you should be able to get at least a grade 6 with what is in this video. I think your teacher might have been a harsh marker.

Either is fine. However, if you are using your own words, make sure it’s very close to the quote.

Do it separate paras with the headings like in the vid. If you have time, compare and analyse a few of the quotes. Try to do 4-5 for each extract

hi, for q6 how would you say I have to compare the extracts and how many paragraphs and quotes needed as i am aiming for grade 7-8?
I would do four or five quotes from each extract and then make sure you can compare & analyse a few of the quotes
Are you gonna do one on the writing ?
The writing is in the second part of this video
can we format the questions in bullet points like you have in the actual exam?
