I cannot tell how I really appreciate everything you and the plover community makes me really want to have my new ssd in order to learn stenography. Thank you so, so much
Stenography has been such a fun topic to explore! I'm still learning, but I love stenography so much! (That was a challenge to type on my uni, but I did it!)
This is so helpful. I might give it a shot. I have a moonlander split keyboard and I set up a layer for steno and plover worked right away on the keyboard setting - this makes switching between my normal keyboard and steno very very easy. The layout of the moonlander is such that I think steno won't be too much of a problem on it. Wish me luck!
I still have no clue how to CMD+TAB to switch between open app using The Uni V4... Looks like I still have to rely on build-in keyboard to switch between apps.
On macOS, the command key is the same as the windows key (otherwise known as "super" or "meta"). So if you just want to write the shortcut cmd+tab, you can define something as {#Super(Tab)}. I'm pretty sure Plover also accepts {#Command(Tab)} or something similar; I'm not too familiar with Macs. But I'm assuming you mean by switching open apps you are holding down the command key and tapping tab (like alt+tab on other OSes). Unfortunately Plover is not capable of holding down modifiers so at this moment it's not possible to emulate this in a steno stroke. I've actually made a video where I sort of address this issue: ruclips.net/video/fUFjBVekmj8/видео.html Basically, I have a separate layer on my steno keyboard that has regular modifiers. If I need to hold one down, I'll just switch to that layer, turning my steno machine into a regular keyboard. Now when I hold down a key, it just holds it down like normally like you would expect. On the Uni, you don't have a lot of keys to work with but if you're willing to give up one of the thumber keys (maybe you use top S as the number key instead) you can easily add a "tool" layer for modifiers and other keys.

I couldn't find the command for {PLOVER:LOOKUP}. What version is this on?
{PLOVER:LOOKUP} will work on all Plover v4 versions. It's not added by default, so you'll have to add a stroke via the add translation tool.
plover-midi plugin sounds cool but have no clue how to use it
nice
