    Hey, I don’t know if you guys are reading. I really want to join the Air Force especially being a PJ and I got a hold of recruiter and he told me that my hypothyroidism will disqualify joining, but I’ve heard of people joining with a waiver. How would I do about doing this? I really want to get in. I know it’s possible. I just need someone to help me with it.

    • @USAirForceRecruiting
      @USAirForceRecruiting  2 месяца назад

      @ethanbarnes7806 Unfortunately, this could potentially be medically disqualifying. However, the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) doctor (not the recruiter) makes that determination if you are medically qualified to join and any career limitations. You will need to gather your medical/pharmacy records for this condition and provide them to your recruiter. Then your local recruiter can have your medical records for this condition prescreened by the doctor at MEPS for a preliminary ruling in your particular situation. Please contact a recruiter for more details.
      Please remember a waiver is an Exception to Policy for a normally disqualified person to join the Air Force that would be in the best interest of the Air Force. It is not guaranteed you will be approved to join the Air Force. Applicants are considered on a best-to-least qualified basis.

    Can foreigners join the USAF?

    • @USAirForceRecruiting
      @USAirForceRecruiting  Месяц назад

      Good morning. To join the Air Force, you must live in the United States or an area that has an AF recruiter. You must also possess a 2-year, or 10-year INS Form I-551 (green card) and have at least 6 months or more remaining before the expiration date to join if you are not a US citizen. For Space Force, members must be a US Citizen to be eligible to join. Applicants must be between 17 and 42; meet the mental, moral, and physical standards for enlistment; and must speak, read, and write English fluently.
      The Air Force and Space Force does not bring applicants to the US to join unless there is an AF/USSF recruiting office or Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) to process through. You must complete all immigration processing and get to the United States legally on your own. You may follow the link below for information on the process to obtain a green card.

      @@USAirForceRecruitingI am only 12 years old, but my biggest dream is to join the air force in the United States and I am preparing for it. What is the minimum age to enter?

    • @USAirForceRecruiting
      @USAirForceRecruiting  2 месяца назад +1

      @tuliaruedasandoval3128 By Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force. However, they may speak to recruiters when they come to their high school.
      While you are still too young to enlist into the Air Force, it is never too early to start preparing. There are a few things you can do now to prepare for once you reach the required age. First study hard and graduate from high school. Get the best grades you can in all subjects especially English, Math and Science. This will help you improve your score on the ASVAB test which is required for enlistment. Say no to drugs and get an early start on physical conditioning are important steps in the right direction. And stay out of trouble. Law violations can delay and in some cases will disqualify you from joining the Air Force and taking advantage of the opportunities available. Starting early and being prepared are your best shot. Stay in contact with your Guidance Counselor and maybe we will see you in a few years.
      You may research more information about the Air Force on our site of www.airforce.com to include benefits like education, careers, training, lifestyle, requirements, etc.
      There is also the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) portion that answers a lot of the most common questions asked: www.airforce.com/frequently-asked-questions/
      You may also download the Aim High App: www.airforce.com/aim-high-app
      If qualified you can join at age 17 with parental consent during your junior or senior year in high school as part of The Air Force Ambassador Program and enter the Delayed Entry Program (DEP), but you will not go to Basic Military Training (BMT) until AFTER you graduate high school.
