THIS IS TRUE HIIT! Seemingly many people over complicate HIIT by incorporating a billion exercises. He kept it simple and intense. JUST SPRINT. Sprint as fast as possible, walk back down and perform the next set immediately. That's why it's called High Intensity Interval Training. If performed correctly, consistently and with a healthy diet, you'll be amazed at how much fat you've burned and muscle preserved.
I used to run 5km 2-3 times a week (only started getting in shape last December) and then after a layoff, started doing intense uphill sprints this month. I'm already in better shape than all of my football teammates. Hit a PR of 10 uphill sprints, then felt like I was in a near-death experience haha But the results are worth it. I'm much more powerful and quick. Skip the long runs and do these instead! Especially if you wanna save time.
I used to do this when I was younger but to increase intensity I used to jog downhill and then sprint uphill again.Felt like I was going to pass out. At first, hill sprints used to feel awkward and uncomfortable, but after a few weeks it feels awesome; you get a huge shot of adrenaline and serotonin!
NEW video: Some of my favorite workouts for power/speed and improving physique/getting into shape: Hill sprints. Specially now when the spring is here, enjoying some tough workouts in the nature. Hope to bring some training motivation. Check it out :-)
This is probably the ultimate way to burn fat. I usually put on my favorite song and listen to the intense part and it almost always gets me through the hill.
Your videos are the reason why I have begun to so vigorously train with HIIT and incorporate calisthenics into my workout routines. So motivational! Absolutely love 'em.
I'm a triathlete (70.3 mostly). I found your videos very well done and focused on areas that I'm falling behind (since I go for long distance challenges). Thank you very much for sharing these videos and helping others achieve their goals. Good on ya mate!! Keep it up!!
Man srsly you are awesome , i was fat since my childhood , i've burned some fat this year and i'm gonna reach my goal , i love sports i wish i had start since a long time ago , i building my motivation took years and now it's paying off and with your videos my motivation is reaching 120% all i need is some time and ill do more ! Thanks man
An underrated and overlooked aspect of hill sprints is how they improve work capacity for strength and conditioning. Now that spring is here, I started adding them back into my workout regiment 2x p/wk on non lifting days (lift full body 3x p/wk). Let me tell you, after just two hill sprint workouts, my work capacity is already so much better. Far less recovery between sets and burpees in sets of 12 were not even getting me winded.
The best youtube channel about calisthenics. I learn many things from here, and I improved a lot in 3 months. Thanks for everything, keep the good videos!
Theres a hill about 2 miles from where I live, and I usually take the steep route. I think I'll do some HIIT sprints on it. It's around 40 degree incline. It's a bastard whenever I try to run up it.
I used to run 6 to 8k 3 times a week and on route was a steep ass hill which forced me to sprint, I credit that for how quick I got into shape and how much weight I lost as far as physical activities go
When I boxed competitively our coach would take us out to a hill nearby and do exactly this. 20 pushup then sprint up jog down twice then 20 burpees. Repeat for 3 sets. Our boxers never ran out of gas in competition.
These wide open empty spaces you have are but a dream to me out here in this urban cesspit. Not a field that size in the entire city. If there is, it's on private property and being leveled out for more stack-em-and-pack-em real estate. There is nowhere to do calisthenics around here. Cant run 200 ft without having to stop for traffic. Nothing to climb that won't get you in trouble with security. If I ever get out, i'll never look back.
You should also try sprinting at night. I get this euphoria when I do it. When the wind whistles in your ears. It has a Ninjaesque/Dragonball Z/Parkour power behind it. Plus, at night you get the maximum workout since ambient conditions are easier to work with. Nice vid.
jag började själv sprinta för inte så länge sedan. måste säga att det är ett väldigt bra sätt att hålla igång musklerna i överkroppen utan att belasta leder och senor
Wow,you have the same workout ideas as me,great minds think alike lmao...This summer I did some basketball conditioning training and was sprinting and jogging up and down hill...To add variation I did it running backwards uphill (makes it a lot harder lol), it blasted my calves more than any gym work-out I've ever done..Also hamstrings, quads and glutes..For anyone working out stubborn calves, this is the kind of workout you need to do..Good stuff man..
These are great for reducing your recovery time. Incorporate these into your fitness routine 2-3 times per week for a few months and see how quickly your heart rate goes down after a max effort sprint or workout.
In my country the weather is warmer. The winter is much lighter then yours, Kris. You should come visit, you might like the nature and we can make acquaintance. =)) of course till covid-19 is over, till then stay strong and be healthy. There are wonderful hills you can conquer with a friend. Most of the year the weather is warm even in the winter there are a lot of warmer days. The winter is lighter and shorter there are beautiful parts in the country, ski resort in the winter, a long line of beautiful beaches and vacation resorts in summer. The people are nice and it's a modern life.
Nice video, it would be cool to see you race someone so we can truly appreciate the differences. I've become a huge fan of these recently. I like to to over head rock ( log) toss or throws for rest periods between sprints. It still allows myself to focus on power.
This inspirational beast has given me hope for my small upper body throughout the past years. (Small as in proportion to my legs. We both share high belly buttons :) )
You could do push ups at the botton and then same amount again at the top and like 4 sets of it each. Shame that there are no hills like yours in my area
i don't know if it's because i'm out of shape but i run out of gas after 2 x 15 secs sprint. This is with 2 min rest in between. ...good lord i got a long way to go to achieve tgem abs.
As a strength and conditioning coach and trainer I am always looking for ideas. You have some pretty cool videos. Do you train people, or just yourself?
sactemp777 Thanks, just normal food, not too much and not too less. And let there be some time before the workout, you don't want to run if you just had a big meal. Also fuel up properly afterwards, specially if there is another workout later that day... because this is intense!

Sprints are my favorite way of cardio + leg strength training method. And the results speak for themselves.
+Amelia Birch PS This ain't my account, this girl can't run for shit haha
Are you still alive? 😊
hm...i think i should buy a hill, shouldnt be very expensive
😂😂😂

+Niall Madhoo Agree, feels very boosting in a good way!
NEW video: Some of my favorite workouts for power/speed and improving physique/getting into shape: Hill sprints. Specially now when the spring is here, enjoying some tough workouts in the nature. Hope to bring some training motivation. Check it out :-)
And yeah, when done... Cool down, spend some minutes with some soft jogging/walking/stretching, and bring some water. Enjoy working out in the nature!
You should have put for backround music ''Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills''
God, I remember that video from when I was just getting started with calisthenics. Good times. I still come here to watch again for motivation. :)
+John Scott Sounds great & Thanks for coming back John.
sprints is the only workout that i'm afraid of, everytime I do it I feel like dying...I LOVE IT
This is probably the ultimate way to burn fat. I usually put on my favorite song and listen to the intense part and it almost always gets me through the hill.
Talk about a nice running hill.
Had my 1st go round of sprints in decades today. Thanks for your breakdown... extremely valuable!!!👍🏾 🔥💪🏾
2nd go... dialed it back just a bit. Taking in more calories than last week, should hopefully enhance my recovery.
Very nice to have this blueprint!!
I usually like to do hill sprints as my last exercise to a very intense leg workout, they're killer but I love them.
Yeah, we got to love killing our workouts :-)
Your videos are the reason why I have begun to so vigorously train with HIIT and incorporate calisthenics into my workout routines. So motivational! Absolutely love 'em.
Thanks man :) Great to hear that
I'm a triathlete (70.3 mostly). I found your videos very well done and focused on areas that I'm falling behind (since I go for long distance challenges). Thank you very much for sharing these videos and helping others achieve their goals.
Good on ya mate!! Keep it up!!
Imagine if there was a workout park right next to the hill, damn that would be the best place to workout. Nice video as always.
Thanks buddy, you are right... maybe a project for the future :)
I currently live near a park with a 20-25m high hill with calisthenics bars in the same spot, can't complain.
Or a workout park on the hill, I saw one from some Norwegian guys, forgot the names, they´re well known in workout world.
Great great video thanks!! i am working hill sprints twice a week in the morning (5am) and is excellent and really extreme!!
Great start of the day, starting the engine :)
Started doing these for my active rest day from strength conditioning. Much prefer it to long boring cardio sessions...
Great video, people certainly don't utilise this exercise enough and don't understand the results it will produce!
Thanks man
Thats super great man, keep training and fight hard, happy to inspire you :)

WOW! I don't think people realize how fast hes running up the hill! I wish I could be that fast! His uphill sprint is as fast as my downhill!!
The best youtube channel about calisthenics. I learn many things from here, and I improved a lot in 3 months. Thanks for everything, keep the good videos!
Great to hear that! Thanks for following :) Stay strong
Your incredible man. Simular body type and very strong. dont give up. Keep going. Ill very much like to look at your work out programs.

Theres a hill about 2 miles from where I live, and I usually take the steep route. I think I'll do some HIIT sprints on it. It's around 40 degree incline. It's a bastard whenever I try to run up it.

Beautiful scenery, good workout!

Excelente sesión para mejorar sprints. Trataré de hacerlo lo mejor que esté a mi alcance...Gracias, Calisthenics & Weight .Training.

Wow talk about cardio
Now this is the kind of thing that I need to start doing! Don't do enough cardio.
Man you have the perfect training area.
These wide open empty spaces you have are but a dream to me out here in this urban cesspit. Not a field that size in the entire city. If there is, it's on private property and being leveled out for more stack-em-and-pack-em real estate.

very happy to watch your new vid, i was asking how to do hill sprints
Great stuff. I'm gonna try this next time I go for a run.
You should also try sprinting at night. I get this euphoria when I do it. When the wind whistles in your ears. It has a Ninjaesque/Dragonball Z/Parkour power behind it. Plus, at night you get the maximum workout since ambient conditions are easier to work with. Nice vid.
Leg workouts could be fun and various too! Thnx for the vid!
Yep bro, and great to enjoy the nature out there.

As a strength and conditioning coach and trainer I am always looking for ideas. You have some pretty cool videos. Do you train people, or just yourself?
hill sprinting for 30 min is so much better than running
I always think how you dare to leave your camera so far away from yourself :D bur i guess you would chase the thieves pretty good haha
Lol, I always leave a note by the camera "if you take it, be prepared to run fast" ;-)
ahah that is alpha :D
Calisthenics & Weight Training
Haha!

What do u eat before workout?
sactemp777 Thanks, just normal food, not too much and not too less. And let there be some time before the workout, you don't want to run if you just had a big meal. Also fuel up properly afterwards, specially if there is another workout later that day... because this is intense!

I'll follow that...
