THIS IS TRUE HIIT! Seemingly many people over complicate HIIT by incorporating a billion exercises. He kept it simple and intense. JUST SPRINT. Sprint as fast as possible, walk back down and perform the next set immediately. That's why it's called High Intensity Interval Training. If performed correctly, consistently and with a healthy diet, you'll be amazed at how much fat you've burned and muscle preserved.

Sprints are my favorite way of cardio + leg strength training method. And the results speak for themselves.

I used to run 5km 2-3 times a week (only started getting in shape last December) and then after a layoff, started doing intense uphill sprints this month. I'm already in better shape than all of my football teammates. Hit a PR of 10 uphill sprints, then felt like I was in a near-death experience haha But the results are worth it. I'm much more powerful and quick. Skip the long runs and do these instead! Especially if you wanna save time.

I used to do this when I was younger but to increase intensity I used to jog downhill and then sprint uphill again.Felt like I was going to pass out. At first, hill sprints used to feel awkward and uncomfortable, but after a few weeks it feels awesome; you get a huge shot of adrenaline and serotonin!

NEW video: Some of my favorite workouts for power/speed and improving physique/getting into shape: Hill sprints. Specially now when the spring is here, enjoying some tough workouts in the nature. Hope to bring some training motivation. Check it out :-)

An underrated and overlooked aspect of hill sprints is how they improve work capacity for strength and conditioning. Now that spring is here, I started adding them back into my workout regiment 2x p/wk on non lifting days (lift full body 3x p/wk). Let me tell you, after just two hill sprint workouts, my work capacity is already so much better. Far less recovery between sets and burpees in sets of 12 were not even getting me winded.

When I boxed competitively our coach would take us out to a hill nearby and do exactly this. 20 pushup then sprint up jog down twice then 20 burpees. Repeat for 3 sets. Our boxers never ran out of gas in competition.

These wide open empty spaces you have are but a dream to me out here in this urban cesspit. Not a field that size in the entire city. If there is, it's on private property and being leveled out for more stack-em-and-pack-em real estate.
There is nowhere to do calisthenics around here. Cant run 200 ft without having to stop for traffic. Nothing to climb that won't get you in trouble with security. If I ever get out, i'll never look back.

You should also try sprinting at night. I get this euphoria when I do it. When the wind whistles in your ears. It has a Ninjaesque/Dragonball Z/Parkour power behind it. Plus, at night you get the maximum workout since ambient conditions are easier to work with. Nice vid.

Wow,you have the same workout ideas as me,great minds think alike lmao...This summer I did some basketball conditioning training and was sprinting and jogging up and down hill...To add variation I did it running backwards uphill (makes it a lot harder lol), it blasted my calves more than any gym work-out I've ever done..Also hamstrings, quads and glutes..For anyone working out stubborn calves, this is the kind of workout you need to do..Good stuff man..

In my country the weather is warmer. The winter is much lighter then yours, Kris. You should come visit, you might like the nature and we can make acquaintance. =)) of course till covid-19 is over, till then stay strong and be healthy.
There are wonderful hills you can conquer with a friend. Most of the year the weather is warm even in the winter there are a lot of warmer days. The winter is lighter and shorter there are beautiful parts in the country, ski resort in the winter, a long line of beautiful beaches and vacation resorts in summer. The people are nice and it's a modern life.
