Focal Point Presents Lil Rev and special guest Thom Pallozola March 23 2024

Lil Rev grew up in Milwaukee, WI and was first inspired to play music when he was just a kid listening to his dad’s record collection. His first love was rock n roll (Bruce Springsteen), but a few years later, when he heard Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, the deal was sealed.
For the past 30 years, Lil Rev has toured the Midwest as a troubadour, performing at coffee shops, nursing homes, street corners, house concerts and community festivals both solo and with the Milwaukee group Frogwater. During this time, he played at so many nursing homes, assisted living centers and veterans homes that his friends jokingly called him, The King of The Nursing Home Circuit!
Focal Point’s good friend, Andy Cohen has this to say:
“Li’l Rev acquired his name when he was a young prodigy growing up in Milwaukee under the tutelage of Dave Fox and Larry Penn. He’s all growed up now, master of Blues and Country styles of harp, teaches Ukulele like a fiend all over the place, still plays a mean blues, he still tells stories and he’s still a good Union Man!”
Thom Pallozola
Thom started playing guitar in 1962 and an old 1920 banjo ukulele in 1964. He also plays many string instruments including ukulele, guitar, bass, banjo, dulcimer, mouthbow and autoharp. Thom plays lead in the group. His simple line allows melodic ideas to be captured by listeners more than that of a myriad of notes.
Outside of playing with the Flea Bitten Dawgs, one of Thom's favorite musical memories was being asked to play with Melvin Seals of the Jerry Garcia Band and joined them for part of their set when the Dawgs opened for them at a music festival in Arkansas.
Thom is also the founder and music director for the Whole Earth Nuclear Ukulele Orchestra, a twenty-five piece ukulele orchestra, which played their sixth yearly benefit show in 2015.
