Sharpen Chisels using MDF -

The other day in our private woodworking and boatbuilding workshop we checked out how to use offcut MDF as a rotating disk for sharpening chisels. Okay - technically speaking this is not the correct way to do it. But it is very fast and effective - thus very useful in my private boatbuilding project.

What a lovely convex face you’ve created on your chisel behind the edge... ridiculous! And on the back face of your chisel as well! Anyone can make an edge with honing compound but there is much more to edge geometry than can be generated with the techniques you are using.
