- Let's play some osu mania! After getting rekt at the shaggy fnf mod I decided I will no longer be an embarrassment and learn how to play 7 keys. Yes I know shaggy uses 9 keys but 7k is really popular, let's learn that one instead. Pain.

i cant do 5k or 7k because i find pressing space uncomfortable and cant be asked to find a key to rebind it to
@@stratis5360 an example would be SDF JKL; one hand uses pinky to hit the last key (or very first key, if you bind ASDF JKL)
i couldn't even comprehend playing mania 7k, let alone actually attempting to be good at it... good luck!

The fact that you can pass 3 stars on your first day practicing 7k makes me ashamed of my progress lmao
everyone improves and starts at different rates! fundamentals are most important! keep practising and going for high acc FCs on low star stuff (heck, play your entire map folder), even if it makes you look stupid or bad at the game, it pays off HUGE. All the best!!

It's worth noting that with the pendual skin the top two judgements are colored the same (silver great), so when training for accuracy with that skin changing the color of the second to top judgement can help with the immediate feedback. The skin's files include multiple great judgement colors so you can just rename it to the file with the color you want.
Damn. I remember the reason why i started playing osu is because of mania and me missing playing O2jam. And i can tell you, im still bad at 7k and i moved to standard. LOL

Better than me, the reason I can't get into 7k is because im so used to 4k and the level that I play at, and so adding new fingers that i have to have proper finger control for, and then my brain no comprehend spacebar, plus with how low I have t o go to even play it's difficult to enjoy. Definitely will prob learn eventually and once I get accustomed to it will pick it up very easilly, but transitioning from 5* 4k to 1* and below 7k is not something I see myself just hopping right into. Honestly, dunno how tf you're so well versed in so many different mania style games.
Also bemuse: yes, the game I have a no.1 :D only cuz it's 5k and like the easiest diff XDDDD

this is my reaction at the comments and as a 7k player, what i find hard about it is that nobody plays it on multiplayer. you rarely find public rooms of 7k players. its like once in a blue moon. i always see 4k and no 7k at all whenever im online.

In games like Osu!mania or O2jam, you usually use 7 fingers, one for each line.
There are some games like Beatmania IIDX where the seven keys are not aligned on the arcade machine, that forces you to move your hand.
But in most of the cases, you're supposed to play with 7 fingers at the same time.
i used to use my left hand only to play 7K
i gave up on it

Accuracy and speed transfers well, especially jackspeed since it depends on your arm/wrist movements instead of your fingers. Playing both 4k and 7k is quite rewarding

As someone who skinned mania, yes it's the hardest. I spent 3 entière afternoons on it. And the skin.ini file was so painful to edit that i had to use notepad++.

osu!mania charting is like in between BMS and O2Jam
I recommend you use r skin for 7k mania (it is more easier to see the notes)
R skin with pointy LNs is the best

@@username-lj6tl basically what cheater LNs do is they snip a bit off of the end of the actual LN body in order to make it easier to read. its not actually cheating its just what the 7k community calls it bc it feels like cheating since you can get ridiculously better scores with these lns in certain scenarios
@@coro_ctrl ^ but for some(like me) it might feel slightly cluttered, which is why for denser songs I switch back to the uncut LNs. It's all preference tho, so go experiment
You should play the vs shaggy and matt mod to suffer. Its hell. Theres a secret song with tricky notes that kill you if you hit them, 9k, and notes that drain hp if you miss them.

Bemuse honestly made me very overwhelmed at the game and made me so confused. I really want to try to use a skin for 7K but I can only read the default one somehow (ig it’s cause it’s a big spacing). 7K is fun but just hard.
Bemuse is for BMS, not really "7k". It's a specific style of charting originally made for IIDX controllers, and mimics the way keysounds work in IIDX as well.

I tried playing 7k with an IIDX con but the way 7k is charted is just... so not friendly for controllers so it's as good as ground zero except for reading when it comes to learning 7k

7k was really impossible for me when I tried it out on fnf that's why I didn't even bother doing it on osu.. but I was forced to play it because my dumb brain didn't knew about the 4k mod so I tortured myself with 5k and 7k...
After a week, I've gotten a lot more comfortable with it but sometimes my brain just have its fart moments and cannot process any of the notes lol
