I have a T-Rex 450 Plus. I am new to flying helicopters, and your videos have helped me to understand more of the basics of the swash plate leveling, rotor alignment. What I need more of is to learn how to balance the rotor head and blades. I have had 2 crashes so far,and use a simulator now and also realize that I have to learn how to repair it better than I can now with out help.
Thanks so much! I've had my trex 450 collecting dust for about 2 years after a crash. Finally got back into repairing it and couldn't remember how to set it up. Thanks for the great videos that make setting up this heli look easy.
Awesome Video - I shelved my Trex 450 mid-build about 4 1/2 years ago and am now just getting to finish it - this is (still) my first build . Thanks again your videos are concise with just enough explanation.
thanks for fast response! im building my second trex a 700 nitro dfc . my first build i paid a guy to help. i didnt order the leveler so im waiting for it to come soon. after ur video i took all my horns off and starting from scratch!!! thks a millon u help so many!!! god bless
Fred I'm just beginning to hover and fly slowly in different orientations with my Rex 450 and 600... I gotta say that I love watching ur vids. very informative and engaging.
Great videos, I use them for reference all the time. One helpful hint to others out there, since you are constantly having to go to 50 in 50 out on pitch curve, what I do is set 25% 50% and 75% to 50 on pitch setup, this way just going close to mid stick and you are already there and keeps you from constantly going to the Pitch curve menu to make sure your stick is at mid all the time. Don't forget to return the pitch curve to its original linear settings. Thanks for the excellent videos!
Great 3GX vids - thanks! I followed it to set up my new Trex 600EFL Pro and it worked great. I repaired some damage today and pre-flight checked the setup. In normal mode (not DIR mode), collective was +/-12 degrees. Then I checked Aileron and got +/- 17 !! But of course in normal mode, the 3GX is trying to compensate (this was just on a bench). I put it in DIR mode and checked Aileron cyclic again, and it was +/- 9.8, which is where I set it. Should this worry me? Thanks again!
Hey there I just got a trex 600 EFL. I can fly some 3d but I am Pretty new to lots of this hobby. It flys really good just wondering though my tail holds really good but I had to trim it to keep it straight . How can I get it so trim is at zero and the tail stays straight ? Use subtrim? Thanks
Where is the part 4 bro? You've help me understand and build my Align 450 pro 3gx! But I need the part 4 and so on to finish! Thanks a million for your time and knowledge and please keep em coming-
Just a problem that I'm having. When I'm setting up my neutrals, trying to get 0 pitch, I'm ok with one side of the heli. However when I swing the same blade with the pitch gauge over to the other side, I see 8 deg pitch! All my servos are at 90 degrees already and adjusting the pitch link wouldn't help. Any ideas?
Thanks very much for all your helpful videos buddy your helping me learn to fly my 450 if ever I have a problem or won't to know something I come to u well your videos anyway ha ha ha thanks very much
Freddy man, how are you? I have a question regarding the 3GX V4. I have a Trex 550E PRO DFC and using the 3GX V4 with AR8000 satellite receiver with my DX7s. When im setting the pitch in DIR mode on the 3GX, I have 0 at mid stick and +12 on full pitch and -12 on negative full pitch. when im doing my swashmix to get 8 degrees on the AIL and ELEV I adjust that in my swashmix, and when I finish all the steps everything is fine expect I don't have 8 degrees anymore on the ail and elev but almost 13 and a half... which causes the elev to bind when im at full pitch with my collective stick all the way up. What do I need to do to correct this?
Hi Freddy, I have a trex 250 dfc and so far, your guide was very helpful but I can't seem to get the swashplate in the middle of its throw. I have -11 to +13 pitch and lengthening or shortening 1 turn is too coarse. I need a more finer tuning, could I use subtrim on all three servo's to get the swashplate higher?
Great Videos Freddy, working my way through them :) I found setting my pitch curve (temporarily) to 0, 50, 50, 50, 100 during setup helpful to getting the 50 in 50 out. I do have a question, I have a perfectly 90'd servo arms, perfectly leveled swash through the range, set up my ail throw to 8 degrees, matched the value for elev and found the throw was different... ...shouldn't they match?
Hi freddy if i didn't want to do 3D with this setup would you set the collective pitch to max +12 and the lower limit to say -2 degrees ? Cheers William
your videos really help me. however i am having problems understanding one thing here. on my 450 when i adjusted pit swash mix to getting 11° pos. max i only got about 10° neg max. you say i'll have to lower the swash. however that would lead to not having 0° at mid stick. unless i lengthen those upper linkage rods (i dont have dfc but normal flb) doing so however would get me back to the same problem wouldnt it? because right now i do have 0° mid stick. is it that the servos arent 90?
do you also recommend 10 degrees of cyclic for a 550 dfc? or is it a bit much? i set it up for 8 degrees as the manual wanted me to but im thinking about changing it. regards from germany...
regulei as paz do heli com pitch gauge . nao entendi .ao regular o grau zero estik no meio do radio, para ele fixar a regulage, eu tenho que acionar alguma chave? tipo..GEAR. OU TRAINER.
With a traditional FBL head just adjust the swashplate height so that the swash follower arms are squared up at midstick then adjust the blade grip links so that the blades are at zero degrees.
Hi, I own a 2 t rex 5oo fbl and I recently attached to the second found and the problem of fl 780 Align that when I start to do the setup the three servants start to warm up the servos are digital by 4/6 v do not align I've burned two I read that the FBI has voltages of 4v to 7v what I did not understand from the instructions and if the voltage is set by car or we have to support a form of tension in part to feed the servants. Hoping it might suggest some solution, best regards mark.
in normal mode u should be as follows pitch curve = low -3, mid 0, high +12 throttle = low 0, mid 75, high 100 3d mode pitch curve = low -12, mid 0, high +12 throttle curve (sport) low 80, mid 70, high 80 throttle curve (3d) low 95, mid 75, high 95 any questions feel free to call or tex me at 801-654-2803 thanks freddy
no still run plus and minus 12 and maybe 10 for cyclic. if you wish to lessen stick sensitivity dont take away from your resolution or total throw, but instead use your menu es like expo to help with that, also try lower head speed for a bit of a less touchy and instant response rate. :) good luck
well buddy first what servo is it that is binding? also make sure your link is nice and free, it may need to be reamed also make sure there is nothing pulling or pushing and adding force on your servos. sometimes overlytightend parts my also cause bind and force on servos for more help please feel free to call or tex me at 801-654-2803 thanks buddy

I learned something today! Setting the cyclic pitch. Good job.
Great I am happy to help :)
Freddy thanks from Sandy.. Your tips helped me so much I had a big smile on my face when things started coming together.

Thanks Freddy for you help, I just spoke to you over the phone. I was calling you from Australia... You are awesome!!!
Hey Freddy, thanks for all our videos! I've definitely got 50 in 50 out ingrained in my head for the next few days.

Finally some good video for me as a first timers. Well presented and I finally get it right and best of all I understand why.
i dont understand, what youre doing at 12:00 didnt you already do that earlier in the video? cyclic pitch? whats that? dont understand 12:00 on.

Fred again a good video

was up freddy thanks for the tip i replaced the blades and it works much better now if
i could get it to fly i'll b happy keep n toch.
Hay Freddy, I have a question concerning pitch gauges. Which do you feel is accurate? The manual or the digital. I was looking to purchase one.
Thanks
do you also recommend 10 degrees of cyclic for a 550 dfc? or is it a bit much? i set it up for 8 degrees as the manual wanted me to but im thinking about changing it. regards from germany...

great video freddy
You said there's a Part IV (4) but I can't find it... is it uploaded yet?
Hi FREDDY Great videos I have a Trex 500 with a AR7300BX on it .Will this be the same settings on mine.
Hi
Thanks for the great Tutorial, just small concern, did you disconnect the Motor before doing all This?
With a traditional FBL head just adjust the swashplate height so that the swash follower arms are squared up at midstick then adjust the blade grip links so that the blades are at zero degrees.
Hello Freddy, thanks for the great video. I have not understood the way you check for binding. By the way, I fly mode 1, thanks, Daniele
Been watching your vids. Great job! Thx!

thanks freddy love your video's man !
nice vid freddy..keep it up!!!
check ur blade weight and balence, also u may have a bent feathering shaft or main shaft
also both blades must have 0 or u will have trackin probs
hey fred 1 question if iget zero pitch at mid but is off blade track what do i do, thanks
Hey Freddy if my servo is binding what steps do I take ?
Nice vid I have a t-500 pro and when I move left to right the flybar moves and up and down on my blades don't move
in normal mode u should be as follows
pitch curve = low -3, mid 0, high +12
throttle = low 0, mid 75, high 100
3d mode
pitch curve = low -12, mid 0, high +12
throttle curve (sport) low 80, mid 70, high 80
throttle curve (3d) low 95, mid 75, high 95
any questions feel free to call or tex me at 801-654-2803 thanks freddy
part 4 is up and running my man
where is the flybar?
Hi freddy. I get +12 and -11. Lower the swash? Tried that it does not help. What i´m doing wrong?
lol thanks buddy good luck on your setup
awesome stuff. thank you very much!
Very good, molto buono, muy bueno
sounds like you needs to raise of lower the swash plate accourdingly
Thanks a lot, great help.
