How deep is your purple?
Gabesafish haaaaaaaaaaa
Gabesafish Yooooo 😂😂😂😂
Awesome comment!
Gabesafish it's royal purple.
:)
The Deep Gees
Bee Purple
haha, that sounds like the Gyp-Sies.
Purple Bees
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is that Hard Disco or Disco Rock?
1980 Rocker Me: "HOW DARE YOU, SIR?!?!"
2020 Rocker Me: "Shit, this is brilliant!"
Right, sac religious than - now better than anything in the last 20 years
My thoughts, exactly! Thanks!
Amazing how nostalgia and lowered levels of testosterone (ha!) can open up an older man's perspective!
@@JLajos It also doesn't help that we have our past to compare with the present and the present has been churning out formulaic garbage for at least the past 20 years I've worked in music radio. I've seen a very sharp decline and had many, many conversations about it over bong hits. Once all the bigger labels swallowed up the little indie ones, the level of creative freedom lowered because fewer managers were handling more bands which breeds an environment where efficiency is a higher goal than quality of product. No one takes risks and that's what is missing. True Avant Gard not some poser corporatized version of it. Sorry for the rant.
Strange isn´t it?
If your are young, you take this stuff like a religion!
Only then you get older you take it with a lot more chill.
The genius of Bill's work lies in the way that if you had neither heard either song before, this would be your idea of how the song _should_ sound. Because it sounds so completely authentic.
It kicks ass
This is true
But who hasn't listened to both songs?
Given the Foo Fighters' exploits as the Dee Gees, this idea is less far fetched than it seems
But..... If you know these songs and what a clash of culture they represent....it makes it so much more delicious. "Fire in the sky, YEAH"
I have said to people for YEARS that "Smoke on the Water" is a secret disco song. If only I had this mashup to show them. Great job!
The genius of "Smoke On The Water" is that it follows very simple chord progressions that become quickly addictive to follow, like a commercial jingle. So many of the most popular songs in history were simple songs to follow.
Alternative title: "Dancing on the Water", because *J E S U S* this is good.
Jon Lord is my shepherd.
😀
maybe in the water, this is way too good.
hahahaha!!!!! 👍👍. best comment yet!!!
I was just thinking it should be called DeepWaterDancin’ then I saw your comment 💜🕺🏽
I didn't know there existed a band named Purple Bee. But I will accept this wonderful song. 🎉😊
It's nice that the Bee Gees did a great job on backing vocals!
This is either a delightfully blasphemous or blasphemously delightful.
I never thought I’d witness the day I saw John Travolta disco dancing to Deep Purple.
I never did LSD so it can't be a flashback 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’ve always liked The Bee Gees, no matter what people say.
The Bee Gees rule..... still do
I don't really get the high pitched voice thing but they were good,
I will quote Alice Cooper, re The Bee Gees: “Damn, these motherf***ers know how to write music!”
@@markorollo. try other songs of bee gees that are not that high pitched you'll love em
Prolly has something to do with their being great.
You seem to have located a rare occasion when all 4 Gibb brothers performed together.
Something tells me Frank Zappa would love this.
This finally answers everything, Barry Gibb was "some stupid with a flare gun".
@@conniethesconnie This doesn't answer a fuck

thats good stuff!
This is what disco should have sounded like! You mastered it finally after all these years! Just astounding!
many rock bands added disco sounds around this time to try and adapt to the trend, so there is lots of this kind of stuff out there from the late 70s, of course those albums seen as the rock bands worst albums.
@@RocknJazzer even zeppelin did this indeed
@@alexandervandenhoogen3969 - yeah pretty much every one, including many of my beloved prog and fusion bands of the era (but not all). The added disco elements hurt what otherwise could be great songs, so I've learned to tolerate it but dont like it

@@RocknJazzer With varying successes. Kinks & Rolling Stones' disco songs were alright. Rod Stewart's & Paul McCartney's were awful.
this is literally insane. somehow this is better than both original songs.
Cuz how Bill rolls
Love both these songs! Together they're pretty sweet!
how convenient so many songs have a same programmed bpm 🤔
I like these mash ups but this is not better than Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple.
@@gator2813 smoke on the water sucks the beegees fuck deep purple
I grew up in the disco & classic rock era. I love both genres, and both of these songs. This mashup of both music & video is just INCREDIBLE!!!😄🕺🎸
I wish I had a time-machine so I could go back to the 1970s and play this to the " Disco Sucks " crowd, they'd label it the biggest crime against humanity of all time. lol
I have no idea who this guy is, but this entire series of what he does here on RUclips is nothing short of genius. This man needs a lot more exposure for the brilliance of his work. And this is absolutely positively off the scale brilliant!
Agreed!
Tbh George Jefferson's dance technique is impeccable.
That's my takeaway too.
Just posted that Sherman won the celebrity dance off at the end!! Dude had the moves!
Was that a mini moonwalk 😂✊
@@Ridendrty Closer to the sort of moves Cab Calloway had, I think.
And in the mashup category, another Grammy for Bill M!
You have to be familiar with 60s Bee Gees to appreciate their transition to the 70s Bee Gees! Barry Gibb didn’t start singing high until their disco period. Great mash up. Enjoyed the retro tv clips!
Tight polyester pants will bring you up an octave or two.
@@onebigusdorkus😂😂😂😂😂!
Back in the days when Saturday Night Fever came out I was seriously depressed.
Disco was not my thing and made it worse.
Bands like Deep Purple kept me alive.
And now I see this.
Well...
I have no hard feelings to the Bee Gees .
Never have, never will.
But for the first time, thanks to this video, I realize that I'm completely healed.
Thank you so much for sharing!!
Life is beautiful!!
Needs more Bee Gees vocals. Says the man raised on heavy metal.
I really love the clip of Carlton dancing at the end, legendary.
You can keep Carlton. Suzanne Sommers sexy as hell in her youth. BM probably could have spliced in Robert Palmer and his sexy models dancing in this video if her had thought about that possibility too.
This is really great listening and watching 🥸
This really emphasizes the soul phrasing of Ian's voice.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... sweet.
Ironically I like the BEE GEEs and Deep Purple. This put a smile on my face. Ian and Barry should watch this video and actually do something together. That would be cool.
The human heart beats to the same tempo as The BeeGee's Stayin' Alive.
Yeah in class we were taught to do chest compressions to * staying alive".
You got that a li'l mixed up.
Above reply is correct.

That's part of the secret to the success of disco. It's so easy to jump into a good disco song and find the rhythm to dance to it without even being a good dancer..
Fabulous. George Jefferson at the end had the best moves 😊
So suprising when Ian Gillan and Barry Gibb looked more like twin brothers than Maurice and Robin actually did... Anyway - just gotta love Bee Purple!
Jan Janusz Deep Gees
Ian ❤️
Purple G's
LOL...awesome! this sounds great, too!
Gee's Purple
George Jefferson's dance at the end is the clincher. Great job, Bill!
SOTW is the most overplayed song that I never tire of. Love it, this is even better!
Back in the day, music genres didn't mix; they all had their lanes. So this mashup would be completly ahead of it's time!
*Funny as F#@k!*
That dancing bit at the end just made my day!
Thank you Bill.
I will now die a happy woman. The best of both bands. Thank you, Bill.
Bill and the McClintocks, my new favorite all encompassing band.
Bill, the current music industry can't hold a candle to what you are creating on your RUclips channel. Thanks so much for all the outstanding videos we are all enjoying thanks to your brilliant creativity.
Love this. Big fan of both songs but mashed up was brilliant 👏
This is actually really good, and I say that with no irony.
The clips at the end are like sprinkles on top. A fun reward for watching the whole thing, made me smile really big.
same
i went to the clips right away LOL
"Some people attempt to dance on TV, but ladies and gentlemen, for your consideration, Mr. George Jefferson."
I watched so much Jeffersons and Three’s Company!
Dinno Deep Purple pioneered disco way back in 1972 hehe
I love the Deep Gees, nicely done.
This is actually Purple Bee 😅
🤣 The Al Bundy, Chris Farley, Carlton, Hemsley boogie at the end really ties it in 😎
+SpiderDan 2099: Yes. I was surprised when I saw the "Three's Company" clip and was laughing all the way through to the end.
The vignettes at the end are perfect!
It's great and funny how Deep Purple's lyrics really pop in this version.
haha, this is brilliant. I'm sure Glen Hughes probably prefers this funked up version!
yep l thought Glenn Hughes would too
Who knew that Deep Purple + The Bee Gees = Chicago
WHY DOES THIS HIT!?!?!?
This Bill McClintock guy, he get's it.
This Version is Richie Blackmore‘s Nightmare.. 🤣
Yes, he would have preferred a mashup with ABBA's Dancing Queen ;-)
For the Love of Good Music.. somehow I doubt that
Ritchie is a big fan of pop music. His admiration for ABBA in particular is well documented. Am sure he’d smile at this
Good
Michael Taylors Ritchie is a massive ABBA fan. Well documented.

Fusion of Rock & Disco:
DiscRock Sound!
Unimaginable before but Mr.Bill McClintock made it happen & we embrace it❤
I think you're starting something man, a new music. Keep going.
Gillan is doing decent disco moves for a hard rock frontman. Damn, he even looks like one of the Gibbs. From 1:50 the whole thing is just crazy good.
That little retro celebrity dance jam at the end is so precious, especially considering how many of them are now dearly missed. Bravo on another incredible mix. This is one of my faves!
Amazing! Ian Gillan's vocals really sound incredible at this tempo.
Bill Mc Clintock actaully made the Bee Gees Disco listenable and entertaining.
This proves disco never actually sucked, because every song u discofied has been greatly improved!
I don't understand the 18 dislikes on this video. You did a phenomenal job both with the mixing of the two tracks but also with the visuals. The end was pretty damn funny also. Great work!
Some people are just douche bags
I bet some Deep Purple fans were enraged
dislikes are from humorless constipated "true" DP funs. you know the ones wearing Iron Maiden T-shirts.
They don't dislike this, they dislike themselves!
Probably just butthurt idiot trolls who've NOTHING better to do than be arses, troll, and shove carrots up their bottoms.
WANKERS WITH NO SENSE OF HUMOUR!
I love The Deep Gees, they are the best band ever!
Forgot to say that The Purple Bee are also geat.
Masterpiece after masterpiece, after another masterpiece. Why have I not found this channel earlier !?
Bill M: The Mash-Up King 😎👍🏻
This is what I like about mashups - when two different melodies and chord progessions mesh in an unexpected and beautiful way such as in this chorus.
I would never have thought to mash up such totally disparate songs with very different fan bases. This is genius!
I only ever want to hear either of these songs this way from now on.
You know, I never realized how similar Smoke on the Water and You Should Be Dancing sounded…until Bill McClintock came along and made this video. But you see, that’s why Bill is such a genius. It’s just perfect. 👍👍
Disco metal was definitely a genre of music I missed out on when I was growing up :) I need more!
What a beautiful bit of "sacrilege" ! Dynamnite work man, just dynamite. Thanks much 🤣
OMG you did it to Smoke on the Water!! OMG it’s brilliant.
Damn George Jefferson GETTIN IT
And Lenny's mom makes a hell of a partner, too.
@@ericandy88 first time I read this I thought it said LEMMY'S mom. 🤪
Jefferson's dance is no joke legit :)
I like how you incorporate both music and vocals from both songs. That's what makes this one of the best mashups ever!
You truly are the best mashup artist ever👍👍🎵🎶

Wax Audio as well as the two you guys mentioned. Great time to be alive.
As s man of fifty couple years, I appreciate the urgency of simple pleasure. These adaptions tickle my ears. Thank you!
THis is also awesome! It reminded me how well John Travolta used to dance. I love how you have Barry Gibb looking like he's glancing over at Deep Purple. lol
I’m laughing 😆 so hard. Damn near tears 😭!
The music is fucking good... But the clip choice and editing is amazing too !
Great job !
agree. the ending with suzanne summers, followed by chris farley and then george jefferson. hilarious.
I am absolutely hooked on this type of blended music. The mixing genius of those who take the time to mix and edit these are absolutely genius. Thank you SO much for sharing these, from a happy and appreciative 65 year old lady in South Africa xxx
The purple gees are awesome!
I always loved that breakdown at 2:20 😍
This never gets old, oh yeah.
The footage at the end was icing on a really good cake.
Excellent. And a much higher difficulty than many as both vocals and music of both were mixed.
John Travolta rockin' out to Deep Purple - I did not know I needed to see that.
I've heard both of these songs a million times but never heard the words so clear, what a mix! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Best mashup… lyrics. People continuing to dance in spite of a fire breaking out, so realistic!
"Barry Gibb and his brothers, were at the best place in town . . . then Andy with a flare gun, burned the place to the ground."
This mixture is GENIUS!!!
THIS is the song that I never knew I needed in my life!!!
Шедеврально!!!
Is Smoke on the Water not one of the first things everyone learns to play on guitar/bass? 😂 This is great.
Yes. Whether you intend to or not, lmao. You just kinda stumble into it.
George Jefferson was an underrated dancer.
Someone once gave someone CPR to this tune. They're unstoppable now.
You are a master!

No. He’s god.
Al Bundy at 4:15. Go Al!
Susan summers 😍
Dam, George Jefferson got moves!
The lead singers are ringers for each another!
Three years late, but hell! This is a mashup I didn't know I needed, or would have even imagined could be done. Now, excuse me while I groove to this.
