I have never heard of Pitiful Pearl. She is adorable! And once again, you did a wonderful restoration! I love washing and fixing doll hair too. It’s very satisfying turning a rats nest into something beautiful again. Thanks for the video!😊

The after hair looks great. That pink outfit is adorable, and I learned a little something about the artist.

My older sister had Pitiful Pearl from the 50’s & years later I took her for show and tell in kindergarten. I remember taking her out of my bag and the class saying “she’s ugly!” It made me love Pearl even more!

I've just discovered you. Wow impressive rescues! I had a Pitiful Pearl as a child and I loved her! I did not know her history, so that was interesting. I sculpt dolls and fantasy figurines and love creating them. I wanted to say that if you have a scratched eye, rather than replacing the eyes, put a thin layer of UV resin cured under a UV lamp. The scratches will disappear. It's easy to do.

Welcome to the channel and thank you for the fantastic resin tip!! I know I will need that at some point soon! If you have a link to your dolls, please share, I'd love to see them! 💕

Pearl was my last doll as a child. I got her on Christmas 1966. I think mine was a bit bigger and by Horsman. She came with a little ragged dress and a pink party dress. I loved her. I have one now that needs some work.

I think there was a "Poor Pitiful Pearl" stuffed doll when I was a child.

Wow!! What an incredibly drastic change! I was not familiar with her, or the phrase that is related to her, but I am very familiar with Steig, and I think he'd be thrilled with her transformation! ❤

Sorry to double comment. I use a strip of nylon net or tulle and wrap it around the damp hair, but not too tight. It works like the old curler bonnets we used to wear to bed over our curlers. It can help tame those bangs and other fly-aways.

Oh that's so smart! I will do that. Thank you! And double comments are very welcome. 😘

I bought a Pearl doll, but her eyes were glazed, and she felt possessed.

Yeah, unfortunately sometimes eyes are scratched and they just have to be replaced. But if you get a glazed one again you can try soaking the doll's face in denture cleaner (like in my Crissy video). 💕
