Could use a speed limiter for the class limit at least. Everyone has them IRL (since everything is GPS tracked, there's no point to ever go faster).

How's the scale accuracy? As good as SCS can do with ETS2/ATS? I live in Oregon and while the scale is obviously off, the parts they DID try to recreate, they got perfectly right.
Is this only in sim mode or are these races a dlc?
Only Sim Mode and after your reach level 25 of XP ;)

Hi, do you use gamepad or some steering wheel setup? I play on gampepad and having issues with keeping speed on close to level, so i start with quads and bikes, where is no speed limit, but strugling with handling, id like to play trucks mainly... thanks :)

It's, indeed better than Dakar 18. It only lacks that Dakar 18 feature of getting out of the vehicle and help other distressed drivers.

Game looks beautiful. Big improvement over D18. I wish bike physics were more realistic and stages two times longer. Especially first events. How do you enjoy the game so far?
I've unlocked the real Dakar experience by reaching level 25 of XP. Now things get tougher ;)

It depends on what bike you are using and if you tweak it's settings a bit. I used a Yamaha 450 with Franco Caimi that was more or less all over the place even though I had lowered the tire pressure to minimum. Then I switched over to a Husqvarna 450 with Pablo Quintanilla, lowered the tire pressure and it was instantly a lot easier to control, especially at speed.
I noticed the same when I tried a Kamaz I got in the sponsor wheel. Compared to the DAF X1 Turbotwin, the Kamaz was a lot easier to handle and keep in control.
So stats and tweaking the vehicle's settings are a thing in this game apparently...

@@Soilworker Yeah you definitely want to pay attention to stats when buying a new vehicle.

The simulation mode is the best :) The additonal routes are also very good looking.
I am close to 15 now.
Based on the Odometer and time in stage, you are averaging 620 km/h. Why would Saber accelerate the odometer by 5x? True stage length is closer to 73 km. And also there were a couple of Dakar ending crashes during that stage. But I'm looking forward in purchasing the game, have waited 20 years for a proper Dakar game.
Despite all that, I'm loving it ;)
It's likely because the stage is 1/5 the length of the actual race- the map is 1/5 the size of the actual desert so you need to make exceptions.
Its a beautiful underrated game. Most of them like the Forza Horizon series, not to blame them even I play that. But I fell this game is more challenging, which also includes bikes and quads. As a biker I love this.
Dude hit a rock with 109 kph & car took it like a giga chad.
Yes they should really change this a bit. Even you hit just a tiny rock your car will react as if it hit a wall... very annoying.
Great video and driving 😀 so, how is the sim mode ? Still arcade, did it changed compare to professional? Did the crash affected the handling ? You can still get stuck, on the rocks at least, hope in sand too.
Didn't find any differences in driving/handling/physics. The most annoying thing in sim mode is that we have always to keep an eye on the throttle. Everytime we go over 170 km/h we get a 10 second penalty. Bummer!

So disappointed with this, regret buying it. Kilometer is around 300m, repetitive co driver saying things like "forward on track"

Games frame rates suffer badly and the motorbikes infuriatingly hurl themselves into a 180 skid when the brakes are applied.
Is this the expected standard of driving "simulators" in 2022?
I bought it trusting the positive reviews and I also watched a few videos but it is difficult to notice for example the frame rates suffering through watching the videos.
imagine multiplayer like your friend will be co-driver.

In Dakar 18 (a shitload of a game) it was possible to get out of the car
I have played the game After a month and now in Level 16 and there are only single rallies and no Dakar,only qualification round.Why?
The "real" Dakar events (2020, 2021 and 2022), with 12 full-length stages each, will only be unlocked when you reach level 25.

Some nitpicking about the co-driver: wish he had more of a headset filter sound and jeez, does have to yammer constantly about every single bump and rock in the road? This sounds maddening!
I found it very useful. I practically never look down to the road book;)
Too bad the game has no spectacular TV style replay cams after the race and no photo mode..Like for example the last minutes from a stage or highlights.ACC and moto GP games can pull this off,its the same engine.
Those two features are planned and coming in a future update.

Ciao! How can I start the Dakar experience 2020? I don't see the map.
It only appears in Simulation mode and you have to download the Saudi Arabia Extended Map DLC (for free).
I haven't played the game yet so its purely based on this video, but two things disappointed me a bit:
1. Apart from a few junctions you could just follow the traces, instead of finding your own way through the desert based on the pacenotes of your co-driver.
2. All the opponents were bunched up and as soon as you overtook them you were in first, which isnt very realistic.
Was it just this stage that was like that or did it happen in other stages as well?
1. That also happens in the real Dakar.
2. I was in front after overtaking all those cars mainly because this was the very first stage of the event. But, even so, I finished 4th because of all the penalties. In this mode (simulation) the most annoying thing is the 170 km/h speed limit. We get a 10 seconds penalty everytime we go above that mark.

how much progress do you have to make in trajectory mode to run the full dakar?
You have to climb all the way up to level 25 of experience. Made all events in professional mode and a few in sport mode to get to that point.
@@itsaPIXELthing oh sure, but from what i see is that if the rally you are playing is the real dakar, there are very few stages compared to dakar 18
The rest will come soon with the extended map via DLC. Waiting for approval. Each Dakar event (2020, 2021 and 2022) will have 12 stages each, if I'm not mistaken.

I believe that the extended Saudi Arabia map was released yesterday for PS5 and Xbox Series. Check the free DLC list on the PS store.
how long does it take to reach level 25?
About 10 or 12 hours of gameplay, or less. It depends on how good and how high you place at the end of each race.
So you only can drive the Dakar Events in Sim Mode or also in Professional
Apparently only in Sim mode.
@@itsaPIXELthing great no save states between Checkpoints. You're forced to drive against the harder ai and only at 170 kph. I hate it to get forced to things i dont want.

Greatly improved from Dakar 18, but not quite there yet. But, even so, a lot of fun, mainly in the car category
The game has potential but I am not sure it's worth 40€ to be honest. Still not sure if I should buy it or not. I see a lot of things that are needed to be polished. And I know I am a very demanding player but that's just how I am.

@@itsaPIXELthing Thanks for replying on my comment. Are there even longer stages? Because I love immersion and the longer the stage the better :D Feels like the waypoints are too close to each other but I don't know how real Dakar works to be fair.
@@pavelcerny9803 Stages can go up to 1 hour long. And waypoints can be close to each other at some points. This is as close as you can get to the real Dakar, but instead of being behind the wheel for 4 hours straight, it's just 1 hour tops (if you don't get lost) ;)
Camp in Steam or Epic Games, who knows maybe you may get it for free or discount.
Is it possible to fine tune the transmission?
No, not the transmission. Only tires, suspension and brakes, if I'm not mistaken.

Is there any FFB when using a wheel cam?
FFB is always present, using a wheel or gamepad. But there are some issues with a few models/brands of wheels that will be resolved soon with an upcoming patch.
@@itsaPIXELthing Not sure I agree with you. The game recognized my wheel immediately (t300rs) for the settings and everything else works well EXCEPT the FFB.
The FFB issue is not enough to put me off the game. Everything else is awesome so I will continue to play and be patient 🥸🤨😩😒😳

The one we had on Dakar 18 was way annoying than this one ;)
Not too useful as well, he should announce things in advance. Something like, in 2 kilometers go offroad, CAP 320. Now, CAP 320. In 3 kilometers turn CAP 75...
In WRC games or Dirt Rally, the codriver already works good enough to help you at high speed. Here you have to watch the roadbook constantly even in a car or a truck, the codriver messages sometimes actually help you getting lost instead of helping you going fast.
