My grandma died December 31st, 1999. Her favorite artist was Patsy Cline, her favorite song, crazy.I remember putting this record on for her, start to finish, and watch her drift back to this period of her life, as if she hit pause on reality and rewind on the memories. This is almost a 20 year anniversary celebration, thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. My favorite memory, she loved the wild animal park in San Diego. Right after her first leukemia hospitalization, the day she was released, I took her. I could tell she was struggling to walk but stubborn as always, so I slowly made our way to the wheelchairs to rent one. She NEVER swore. She saw where we were heading and said "You'll have to break my fucking knees to get me in that thing.." She acquiesced shortly after, but I can still hear loud and clear the only swear word I ever heard her say.

I heard this song in a TV movie for the first time in 1993 with my wife (then girlfriend) and it must have been halfway through watching that we both came to the realisation that we loved every song she'd song up until that point, so we both had to asked the obvious question... how come we had never heard of this women before???? ....
In 1993 we both would have been in our mid 20s yet we had never heard her name or any of her songs. Believe me when I say that growing up listening to commercial radio practically every day (you could not avoid it) I don't ever remember hearing any Patsy Cline songs. If you are old enough to remember the 1970's and 80's then you will know that songs from the 1950's and 60's were on the radio constantly.
You could not avoid hearing them, least not like nowadays where there are so many channels and methods and devices to engage with music, that you can literally choose to only listen to one style of music and pretty much avoid listening to anything else.
So how Patsy Cline records were not a regular part of the play list of 1970s and 80s commercial radio is beyond me. I mean even if you set aside the many great records she made, It still does not explain how an amazing song like Crazy (I don't know anyone who does not think that it isn't an amazing record), was not a part of the popular music landscape. Trust me if it was I would not have had to discover the song in a movie on TV as late as 1993 (the movie was made in 1985 and stars Jessica Lang and Ed Harris).
Why it never got regular air play like the other classic records from the same time period just makes no sense whatsoever.

That sounds like the movie "Sweet Dreams" version: The plane with Patsy, Randy Huges, Lloyd Copas, and Harold Hawkins crashed on a farm near Camdon Tenn the night of March 4th 1963. The man who called it in said he heard a plane sputtering, nothing, then a crash. The first responders found the crash site the next morning. The plane clipped off the top of a tree, the engine dropped straight down then the rest rolled down a ravine 3-4 hundred feet. Patsy was the one found mostly intact. If you want more detail (I will warn you it is VERY graphic, and as a fan of Patsy's, extremely disturbing.) Check out the interview with Jerry Phifer, he was just eighteen and it was his first experience in a rescue response. You can tell after all these years he was still effected.

Willie Nelson wrote the song, but nobody will ever sing it like Patsy Cline.
She was one of the very best vocalists ever and sadly left us way too soon.

Crazy Fact.... Her husband's name was Charlie Dick. She was a bit of a wild woman.. My Mom was at her last concert before she died in the plane crash. She was the Queen of Country Music and is a Legend.

This video was made after she was involved in a terrible car accident. She had a bad head injury and still went into the studio to record this song that was written by Willie Nelson. Patsy Cline went through hell before she died in a plane crash near Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Patsy was great and her songs contained truth and emotions we can all relate too. She was killed in a plane crash at the age of 30 at the height of her career. Look up her song called "SWEET DREAMS" and you will like it.

Another interesting thing about her that you can read up about on the internet was that many say she was one of those white passing melanated chicks. She had some biracial make up in her and you can see it if you look closely, and she definitely had a wonderful strong voice.

Her "Crazy" is different from what your all's "cRaZy is" she's just being honest with her feelings.....Respect to Patsy. Willy Nelson wrote this song for her💔🎶💙I'm glad this is my first reaction I'm watching from you all, because just like that "top high PITCH" your girl laughs at solidifies "not all is for some" can't hang with ya all.
