I like the Aston Martin virgin of this car.

I've just bought one of these cars. Mine is a 2012 1.3 litre, manual, done 22500 miles. It's brilliant and quite unique.

Hi. Was thinking off buying one. Any advice. Thanks in advance.

@@grmnn4080 not much to look out for, really, if not used much the rear discs can easily build up surface corrosion, the dashboard can vibrate a lot of clutch is starting to wear but may not necessarily need replacement, check for suspension noises over uneven rough road surfaces and enjoy!

@@grmnn4080 I have had mine 3 months now and it is a great little car. Also, when I was looking for one, I found that most of them are well looked after.
The garage that I purchased my car from had another IQ in red. That was a 1 litre 64 plate with 33800 miles and full Toyota service history for £6799. My car, despite being 10 years old, had full Toyota service history and even the original tyres with plenty of tread.
No boy racers would ever used an IQ.

I have had many cars in my long life. But this IQ is THE BEST car ever. Just love it so much. Fast, great to drive, cheep in petrol, great air condition, spacious in the front sit, have had 4 passenger as I am short, all my shopping, trips to garden Center, wheelchair !!!
    Just love it so much
I like to have another one a bit newer. I have done 1200 mills in 11 years. 😍😍😍😍 passes mot every year xxxx

I don’t think it’s that unique I think it’s a shrunken down Yaris engine in a shrunken down Yago body. The interior and controls are very unique and so is the gearbox.

How many small cars from Toyota share the same underbody platform? Not one I don’t think. The iQ was created from the ground up and the car’s gestation period was lengthy - almost five years from the initial proposition in 2003 through to the start of production which proves its a one off, you won’t find a triple layer insulated windscreen on many cheap hatchbacks
