The reason the corvette had a diff and this one doesnt is engine placement. This is rear engine so its harder to put a diff but I agree it still should have
@@Unbrickme You are not supposed to store stuff the road legal Senna does not have a frunk it just has a shelf behind the seats with the right amount of space to store 2 helmets, so idk why would you want storage on the GTR the racing version when the road version does not even have it.
For the suspension, I can understand: at this scale with that much ground clearence (barely any) would be near impossible, though I'd like some Lego big brains to put the suspension there; but for the diff... idk, the designer thought it would be unnecessary. Though still, this is crazy good.
I personally love how Lego made a differential replacement to keep it authentic instead of making the model absurdly wide and how the building technique of a differential replacement is good for people that have lots of spare parts but do not want to destroy a model for a differential piece.
Man, as a life long bionicle fan, I have no clue why I haven't been pushing off technic for so long. Your review of the rescue hover craft sold me on the set, and now this might just be my next pick up. Subbed and notifications on 🤟
This was my lego technic car “initial drug”! Amazing model for the price!! Got it for Christmas for about $60, now 3 months later I’ve already bought the Porsche 911 RSR, Lamborghini Sian and Bugatti Chiron, so I’m all set up for 2021 😂 so far I’ve build only the Porsche, took me 20 hours since I’ve mainly bought them to build a bit each night, I really intend to take my time with them ❤️ now I am also considering getting the Ferrari 488 GTE as well. Except for the initial Senna, I’ve got all the others on sale at about 40% off local prices, the 911 was $110, while the Lambo and Bugatti were $300 each. Hope these prices help others! All are including VAT. Now my biggest issue is finding a place to display them as they’re quite bigger than expected after seeing online reviews... looks like I’ll end up buying some furniture as well 😂
@Bohan Wang I can imagine! The Porsche ended up taking all the temporary space I have right now for it: on top of my Logitech G29 box 😂 even from youtube videos it’s clear the Lambo and Bugatti are considerable bigger, thanks for confirming this! I ended up skipping the Ferrari, it’s not my cup of tea 🤷♂️ the Lambo on the other hand seems to be the best one yet!
Big scale: Porsche GT3 RS - Orange Bugatti Chiron - Blue Lamborghini Sian - Lime Small scale: Chevrolet Cotvette ZR1 - Orange Mclaren Senna - Blue ? - Lime. If the next car in this scale will be lime color, that'll be good attention to detail, won't it? By the way, great review. Thanks to you, I'll definitely buy the Senna.
I got it recently. It's an amazing set. I heard that it has the same designer as Porsche GT3 RS, Land Rover Defender and Lamborghini Sian FKP 37. That explains a lot. The McLaren Senna is a really cool model. The only thing that I didn't like is lack of a differential.
I appreciate the amount of panels included with this set but I feel in recent years Technic has gone down in the number of innovative chassis-style blocks like the one used for engine blocks or bionicle bodies. You know, the ones that have cool details and give you a creative base to start from.
I made a small mod to mine to give it both rear wheels' drive with a locked differential. It also looked a little nicer because the parts connecting to the rear wheels are flush instead of poking out the side. I just used one extra part I had from another set.
Fun fact: Neither the hood neither the engine cover open on the real senna. The only think that opens on the real car (apart from the doors) is the little long black thing on the top of the hood exactly like the Lego version (albeit the lego version opens the other way around). That means that this model technically has all the openable panel features of the real deal!
