Marc wearing shoes - not sandals - raking cobble!!!! 😎SO, so excited to see this progress on the sewage system. 💪 Marc has done an amazing job designing this ecosystem. The chateau land won't know how lucky it is after all these centuries. And you can all have all the hot baths and toilets you want!
The whole family is working on this big project! The children helping in the gravel beds were a joy to watch! BTW: The map and your diagram helps a lot to understand the layout of the sewage system.
Oh wow ! What a challenging project ! Sand, gravel, broken equipment, failed help, Just the physical effort to keep the project moving along ! Whew ! Well done all !
Congratulations, Amy and Marc, on being able to move forward. It must have been quite frustrating to wait for this to be finished; just in time to plant before the really cold weather comes, too. It's lovely to see your children growing up. Your property will be amazing when you've finished.
I’ve been watching from the beginning and I think this has been my favourite vlog. I love what you are doing in such an eco friendly way! The children are so precious.🤗🇨🇦
The diagram was SO helpful and I realized how so many of our earlier suggestions were well intended but impossible.😂 I was holding my breath thinking “Oh no, another setback!” And then I was so overjoyed to see it all fall in to place! 🎉 So happy to see everyone able to participate - and its all documented so Clemont can watch that tractor in action anytime! I wish I could give you a big hug and say its all coming together!❤ Looking forward to the next installment! Very exciting - congrats! 😊
Congratulations in getting the ponds sorted out... what a nightmare time for you guys, talking about events working against you.. so glad you were able to get it all done before the october rains arrived.. I bet Marc was pulling his hair out... Look forward to seeing the system develop.. Robb Torremolinos Spain..
While not beautiful it is a great advancement of the project to renovate the château. Congratulations! Personally prefer the ponds rather than a septic tank. I think it is ecologically much better.
I am so happy that work is moving on with your sewage system. It is a major project. I understand your frustration getting contractors to help. The children are so adorable. ❤
There is a video about High Grove own by Prince Charles had a sewage garden put in on the property. But he didn't have the slope your having to deal with. Glad that your finally moving forward with your plans for self-sustainability.
I kept imagining how all those big machines would look through the kids' eyes! Pretty awesome to my eyes, too! So glad this difficult job was finally ticked off the list!
What a tremdous achievement! Seeing a light at the end if the tunnel, I imagine. I really feel out of the loop, but am living on veteran benefits and every cent has to go toward paying bills, so no patron status for me. I hope you have moved into the coach house by now.
Amy, I find you and Marc to have patience of steel when you experience a set back in your projects. I could see and feel the disappointment you and Marc felt, but you kept your cool and waited for things to be sorted in order to move forward. It is a marvel that everything finally fell into place. ❤
Yay!!! Finally seeing the sewage ponds prepared for the reeds has to be a monumental landmark in accomplishing your goals for the property. You have waited soooo long on others to make this happen. What satisfaction you must be feeling. I’m always so impressed with the way you both do whatever it takes to get the job done. This time with excellent help from Margot and the kids😅
Yippee 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉After a few hiccups, it finally worked out 💪 it’s always something with renovations. So thrilled for you that this major roadblock has finally opened up. Loved your maps and your children were such cute helpers. Poor Pepper, so much supervising is tiresome 😂😂😂Looking forward to seeing the next steps 😍😘
Oh thanks so much for sharing. What I love about your channel is that it’s reality. I love that you and Marc gradually but determinanally if that’s a word overcome the challenges. I remember how hard my life was when I had children at the ages of yours and I am awed by your progress. Be encouraged you are a beautiful Mum and a beautiful wife.
I must say even though things didn’t go as planned, your views from that window are beautiful. Looks just like a painting. The children are getting big and they are so adorable helping with the gravel. What a huge step forward for you. I’m so happy for you both. xx
Fantastic to see this project moving on. I saw a video on tv here in Australia quite a few years ago where they installed a system like this. I love that you are doing this.
It's the first time we've really tried it but I liked the result. Glad you did. The difficulty can be remembering the imagined dialogue from the filming when it actually comes to editing!
Just some FYI.. my high school friend's father was stationed in the mideast desert during WWII.. He told me they did #1 in 18 inches of sand and it came out clear at the other end and they reused it. Must be in some army manual somewhere! either backhoe or excavator.. we use the excavator to build retainer walls and backhoe to move dirt. you are in a pickle.. it will all sort it self out in the end! Amy, whenever I go to the lumber store I ask for the tarps the lumber comes wrapped in.. Not sure if you have it.. I use those tarps for so much hauling around the farm.. Weeds etc.. But you could put it down before the gravel on the grass... Those tarps are heavy duty and much better than anything you buy.. and I get them for free here in Cda.
I'm glad it all worked out in the end. Is the tipping bucket or the connecting pipes in place or is that the next chapter in the poo saga? Multiple loos will be so convenient around such a big place. Well done all of you.
What a long wait you have had and so many set backs so to get this bit done must feel so satisfying. At least you are in charge of the planting and not waiting for other people so hopefully that has also now been done
Oh no, lol I would hope we Americans are known for the Lipton French Onion powdered package dip 😂 on another funny note, Americans have another "classic" and I say lightly casserole called Funeral Potatoes aka Mormon Potatoes. Check it out, what's not to love potatoes and cheesey goodness and a great autumnal side dish. Love to all Landers from potatoes country Idaho USA 🤗🍂🧡🍁
Thank goodness for the heavy equipment at last, definitely worth waiting for. But still a lot of back-breaking work. I loved all your helpers, especislly the little ones. ❤
Oh that's good to get done, crap that Marc was so stressed. I didn't know about tipper buckets - it makes sense. Hopefully it wont smell, being that close to the house. Being a Brit, with no plant knowledge, I'd call it a digger or JCB. Interesting to see a modern version. It looked marginal - I don't think it wouldn't have been able to do it if it was any wetter.

My first thought for getting gravel and sand to the ponds was air conveying. The coarsest gravel might be a problem, but the sand is easy.

In Australia the generic term for the big tractor with the big bucket is; a backhoe loader. :)
