I had 3 pugs, all passed away on 2019, one was 14, one was12, and the last was 11. This was 5 months apart, all died of old age. I'm so sad, but I getting another this year.

I am a first-time pug owner, and have had my pug for five years. He is the smartest dog I've ever had. He snores very rarely, is a VERY picky eater (but eats a lot of food that he likes), is the most people and kid-friendly dog I have ever had, sheds more than any dog I've owned, and he loves me in spite of all my faults.
I love him so much. He is my BEST friend

Same thing with me. My girlfriend brought one home, and I hated him for like 2 weeks. Then you watch all the goofy stuff they do. Long story short, our pug would never listen to anyone but me. Also I'm the only one he would let hold him on his back and stroke his tummy till he would fall asleep.

Pugs are adorable dogs! Love em to bits but please keep the ‘pugs are sensitive to heat’ thing in mind.. many people aren’t aware of the repercussions of pugs or short muzzled dogs being exposed to high temperatures..I have seen many people losing their short muzzled dogs like bulldogs, shihtzu, French bulldogs, boxers etc. to heat stroke. Heatstroke can be fatal in most cases. So please make sure to walk your dog when the temperature is cooler, protect them from high temperatures by cooling them off under the AC or fan, not to over exert them ever, and under no circumstances leave them outside in sun or in a car.. we need to understand that these short muzzled dogs are different from other dogs and need that extra care... much love to all d puggies out there😘

Pugs are absolutely wonderful. Mine just recently passed at 14 years of age. He was our family's jester. His personality was so huge! He kept us in stitches all the time with all of his hi-jinks.

I had a pug his name was Kate bolt he was very energetic. He died 6 months after I bought him.he always loved to play with me and my brothers . He was very friendly. I still miss him.i just watched this video it reminded me of him.RIP Katebolt

I have my own little pug who is just over a year old. She is a bundle of energy so she never stays still for hugs or sits on my knee. I am secretly hoping for her to calm down just a little bit soon so she can sit on my knee for hugs. She is such an adorable thing and I love her to pieces c:

I am a proud 2 time pug owner and love them to death just a few things people should know about their health problems before getting one first they tend to have bad back knees my current pug Maximus (he just turned 13) has had to have both of his knees surgically fix my previous Pug also had to have knee surgery (idk if all pugs have this problem or if I have had two unlucky pups) the second thing is there breathing problems because of their flat faces they usually can only breath well through their mouth but some simple plastic surgery can fix this issue no problem. Finally i can not stress enough how important it is I clean the fold of skin on their face just above the nose this crack can get lots of food particles stuck in it which can cause infection also your pug might start to lick this because it can taste the food which can lead to inflammation and irritation. Other than these few problems I have loved owning my pugs more than anything they are great family dogs and perfect for a city dweller as well as someone living in suburbs and I would strongly recommend getting one as their personalities are one of a kind. As always please consider adoption as well because 60% of all dogs in shelters are euthanized because there is too many dogs and not enough people adopting.
Yes adoption is the nest option for most breads and they will be grateful to you as well!
Gravy Boat42 I’ve got a pug (a fawn one) and I cringed when I saw the pug in the video In the swing. That’s no way to treat a dog, let alone a bread who suffers from mobility issues. My pug she’s 3 now (drives me insane but I love her to bits!) she’s got Hemivertebrae which is a deformation of the spine. She’s incontinent, ain’t got 100% use of her back legs. When she got operated on at 5 months old, the vet said she wouldn’t make it until she’s 1. But here I am 3 years later with a crazy pug (who’s currently sat here crying for my cup of tea) who I wouldn’t change for the world. She’s cost nearly £15000 in vet bills, but I would spend that all over again just to give her a chance. Like this video doesn’t do pugs justice whatsoever. It’s absolutely disgusting how you can put an elderly pug in a position like (in the swing)that

One thing I’ve learned is that no one owns a pug . The pugs own us!!! From the minute you get that little bug eyed fat ball you become putty in their hands. And boy do they play you like a fiddle. Pugs are there to be adored. ANd

I want a pug myself too but I live alone. Now small later bigger I hope and expect. See how life goes I really want one but when you get girlfriend she must like it too if I stay alone I think I cannot afford a pug either because they need people around them you cant go off to work for 9 hours and let them alone right? This breed needs company. But really want pug I have depression but just looking at them makes me just a bit happy everytime :)
RWpiano A Pug will be fine while you go to work, that also helps them with Separation Anxiety.. if you really want a Pug consider adopting an older one that's a little more chill than a puppy..Pugs are GREAT people dogs, ands will help with your depression, just be prepared to take him or her to the Vet regularly to help stave off any health issues..Good Luck..I have 3 Pugs and love all of them

any good tips to keep my pug healthy and happy? he’s already very healthy and i’ve had him for about 4 years and he’s 8. after watching this vid i see they have some health problems and stuff like that... is there any tips out there people could give me to keep him healthy and happy?:)

Beautiful girl pug that is a year old and we were told Science diet which is a food brand where you can get at your local pet shop is good as we only feed her dry food from them and she was good because we was losing all her hair which is natural but as we own a puppy Husky x kelpie that she bites her and she has sores all over her but she is heathy and happy she has had some of her teeth removed by her previous owners and was desexed before we got her so we didn’t have to pay for anything
But when your pug starts licking and biting it’s feet there is some reasons for that it could be she is allergic to her food or there is something poison in the grass outside there is some powder stuff you can buy to stop that.
Never hit them on the nose or touch there eyes
That is all I can think of right now but hope it helped :))
Oh and make sure they get a lot of Exercise and before you go to bed back sure to not leave anything they can eat because mine eats anything it can fit in it’s mouth lol
Yes, make sure you take him to the Vet for Annual check ups, and if you notice anything out of the ordinary get him to the Vet ASAP, I have 3 Pugs and one was constantly licking his paws, I got him the allergy shot which helped, then he started again and dragging his front left leg and couldn't walk, turned out he had a ruptured disc.. he's also 8 but we rescued him and he was seriously overweight.. after his surgery (only 10 days ago) he was walking normal immediately.. not meant to scare you but it gives you some more info on the breed, as this can be genetic
Just don't let him get too fat. When Pugs get a little age on them all they want to do is eat, lay around, and sleep. Next thing you know you have a diabetic Pug. Keep him active as best you can and curtail his calorie intake.
Don't let him get fat go to the vet for check ups don't expose him to much heat and show him love
