According to the rigorous DxO Mark testing system, this lens is 3rd overall in their tested lenses (which are hundreds). It leads the 4000$ Carl Zeiss Distagon T* Otus 55mm f/1.4 ZF.2 by one point in the rankings... wow ! To round things up, the leading lens is the Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct. But it's rated only 4 points higher than this Yongnuo, yet the Nikkor's price tag is... 8000$. Who said "Bargain !"...? All details on the DxO Mark Website, with extensive reports, charts, measurements, fields, etc. and some downloadable documents.
Hey bro... I think may have reviewed the 85 1.4 Samyang in the past and I think it's another heavy hitter in this range. Some may say the quality of the image even feels like a premium top dollar native lense. Not sure if u follow Julia Trotti and I think she does great portraits and gear reviews mainly focused on portraiture and she really loves that lens even comparing to the 1.4 gmaster. Great review sir.. and it's great Yongnuo is stepping up to offer budget friendly lens with good quality
Happy New Year, Jason, Great fun pictures excellent at showing the capabilities of the lens. I am moving from Nikon to Sony FF at the moment so reviews of lenses which do not cost an arm and a leg (which most of the Sony full frame lenses do) are very welcome.

What about CAs in the corners? They seem horrable.😢
Hi Jason. Can you tell me what bottom bracket do you use for your Sony camera?
Love the photo edits

Tamron lenses are also ones to watch. 28-75mm f2.8 and the 17-28mm f2.8 are great lenses
