Mattel Fisher Price just recently Released the very limited JAMES SORTS IT OUT SET. This release is extremely Limited to only 20 US Stores around the United States. Retailing for 249.99 this set is based around a story book that is included with the set. The Thomas & Friends Wooden Toy Railways System also offers a cheaper option of the JAMES SORTS IT OUT STORY BOOK box that only includes a Character and a story book. There are going to be four special limited sodor story sets that will be released this year to only 20 Limited specialty stores around America. Also debuting will be Thomas's Birthday Surprise Set, Percy And The Little Goat Set, Logan and the big Blue Engines Set.

Hey, I hate to bug you with such an odd request, but by chance could you scan the steamworks logo on the front of the building? I've been looking everywhere for a high quality picture of the logo to use to make a steamworks custom building and I can't find one anywhere online. It would be tremendously helpful if you could.

Great review! I really enjoyed it! This set looks awesome and I wonder if they're going to bring back Colin on the T.V. series. I'd really want to get this set however, the price blocks me from doing so. I really like how you are reviewing all the new 2014 releases however, how can you stand spending all of that money?? Anyways, great video! I can't wait to see more! :)
I'd like to get this set, but I already have Victor and Kevin. Also, $249.99? I've seen entire WR play tables cost less!
That said, the product does live up to the price. I'm especially impressed with Colin's detail and I'd love to read the book.
As for the Steamworks, it may lack the crane and the wheel remover and the oil changer and the wheel tester and the points.......all the stuff the 2009 one had, but it's better detailed (especially with Emily and Henry), it comes with it's residents (Victor and Kevin), and an engine to fix (seriously, why didn't the 2009 one include Hiro? The toy desc. even said how to use him!). The transfer table is another plus.
Now I wish I didn't get Kevin in 2009. The new one is much better detailed (and so is the special track). The old one had the front coupling, but the new one has freckles and is much more proportionate and it has those supports. James? Eh, not as good as the paint splattered Thomas. Victor's model is fine as well (yes I called it a model, it's just too great to call it a toy), his character is excellent, can't say the same for Colin, but with the new book...
Anything wrong with the set? Um, it doesn't have Charlie, who's in the book desc.? Yeah, other than that, the set, from what the video shows is flawlessly sublime.

This is a really cool set. I would say that this would mark Colin's return, but this is something that is supposed to be set aside from the TVS. Then again, the kids might not know who Colin is, so then maybe he WILL return. I hope he does, because I think I'd like him better if he was seen more.
This set was actually really cool. Unfortunately the price creates a little problem for many besides the lack of places to get it. I would love to see Colin more so that I can appreciate him more beside's his cool look factor!

I'd have to say my only issue with this set is that it doesn't have a barrel car even though it has a barrel loader. I know Mattel has pretty much stuck with standard cargo cars, But I really miss the barrel cars. And it should've had one since it has the barrel loader, But overall this is a fantastic set.
Awesome looking set... that price though-think of what it would cost in AU $$ :O Great set though, it's the perfect combination of the new designs wit the classic wood feel.

There's only 20 brick-and-mortar stores carrying these sets but they will also be available on thomaswoodenrailway.com and the mail-order catalog.
I'm not sure if anybody else thinks the same thing, but the Steamworks in this set looks a lot better then the one they made back in 2009. It just really looks nice to me, as does the rest of this set. Shame about the price though, even though these sets do look good, they're way too expensive and I don't have the money for them.
Also, do you plan on reading the Sodor Story Books and upload videos of them to RUclips, out of curiosity? It would be nice to hear the stories.
Unfortunately I am not going to be reading the books online as to there are strict rules on youtube for reading copyright material. I wish I could have!

I didn't realize they were still making the wooden sets I thought they only made the plastic ones
I think the logan and the big blues engine centre is better due to in having more desirable pieces ( logan, the coal loader and knapford)
In my opioin the best piece in the james sorts it out set is the steamworks building
I must admit have a brand new character like Logan in a set made that set cool but I actually thought the colors and craftsmanship on the james set really stood out

MrMPS2002 Studios! I haven't gotten to the other two Collection sets yet, but I gotta say that the Thomas set does offer a lot more destinations then there percy set. It will be interesting to see how they hold up. I need to review these before we leave for Vacation

metal have been able to make better ORIGINAL sets but only available in certain stores bad move they could make more money selling them every where
It's amazing how awesome these sets are! The biggest complaint obviously is the price…so I am wondering if they are testing the waters with these sets to see if people respond positive to the price. Maybe possibly future sets will be more available to everyone. Herr's to crossing my fingers :)
