I would agree to some extent that he did not appear in Hindi news channels but he very much has the ability to capture a voter. His 29 years exposure at the UN, his awesome body of work as an author, his formidable debating skills, his oratory prowess, his supercalifragilistcexpialidocious vocabulary...are inspirational enough to make any educated Indian feel proud of him. No wonder, he has emerged as an icon for youngsters...
It is really sad that despite having potential to make a difference, he remains grossly underutilised for the good of the country maybe owing to his political affiliation where he has wasted his precious time. He is definitely a PM material...but...

Despite the various failures BJP has committed while in office, they got voted into power for a second term, the clean explanation people gave was " if not modi then who?" . Thought Rahul is an alumni of Harvard and Trinity, I believe he lacks this certain charisma you aim to see in a leader. I hope INC wakes up to this realization soon, and step up with Tharoor as their PM candidate and a bench of Manmohan and Rahul as advisers to the PM. Shashi would be the ultimate face life our country can get internationally. As much as we'd like to believe otherwise, having a uneducated PM who shouts around, not being able to even host a jovial debate is what is keeping us from being recognised as more than just a third world country globally. Having an accomplished author and diplomat as our PM would be a great encouragement to the young educated Indians to venture into politics also. Days of recognising politicians as someone who's dramatic, illiterate, and violent must end soon. Charisma, Education and empathy must be the defining qualities of the leaders of tomorrow
