    Scan for your target from right to left instead of left to right. Think like you are reading, our brains are used to skim reading left to right. If you go right to left it's less familiar to your eyes & brain, you'll be more alert & cognitive of what you're looking at & the target might stick out more. Whereas if you quickly scan left to right, you're used to doing that & you might look past something. This is taught in the military, I learned it from other DayZ PvP videos.

      That's interesting. Reminds me of something I read about how people do better on iq tests if the tests are printed in smaller type and in a more faded grey rather than black. It makes you read the questions more carefully and you're more likely to fully understand it rather than misinterpret slightly.

    "visual cover vs physical cover" is referred to as concealment vs cover

    • @theTobytheTitan

      Good comment. Good video. Concealment hides you like a bush or a car door… cover hides and protects you like a cinder block wall or the engine block of a car.
      At least in real life.

    • @user-ko4si7pf2u
      @user-ko4si7pf2u 10 месяцев назад +2

      Came here to post this. You do not have to make up terminology, the military already has, so let’s keep to the lexicon. There is Cover and there is Concealment. Cover physically protects you from direct fire. Like a wall. Concealment protects you from direct observation. So like a bush. If someone thought you were behind the bush and blind fired you, it is concealment but it does not provide cover. If you use this lexicon more people will understand the concepts.
      But awesome content and thanks!

      I did the same.
      I always go into a new game completely blind, you learn better figuring it out for yourself vs being told, and I like surprises. I don't wanna see anything unless its happening to me.
      But the game tells you nothing. 😂
      I kept getting sick cus I didn't know about washing hands or drinking found water bottles. No idea how to start a fire to cook. And then it got dark... 😂
      So I had to check out some vids after about 15 runs that only lasted 30 minutes. 😂

    Have a smg or assault rifle as your primary weapon , something that shots a lot , fast and at short\ mid range always in your hands. If you use a silenced pistol or a sniper rifle, switch back to the primary when you're done. If you run into somebody by surprise, the winner will be the one who shoots first with the most firepower, the other will start again at the coast.

    That last section on jiggle peeks was real useful. it was something i sorta understood but it was good to hear it explained like that. great for a lot of fps games. another thing with jiggle peeking is you can bring yourself back from the wall you are behind; means you have to move a larger distance to peek the same amount of degrees, so that means you can peek more efficiently and accurately as you have a wider margin to move within.

    I love this video. Even when playing on pve ONLY servers, I follow these rules of thumb.
    1. Because practice makes perfect.
    2. Nothing is ever "xyz" ONLY.
    Too many times, I've played on a pve server and been sniped while being complacent. Especially the ones with no pvp zones or bandit npc's. Where you think you can let your guard down and just enjoy the atmosphere of the game, you should always be ready to rumble.

    I remember when I got my first real kill in DayZ. Me and my friend were at devils castle and he got shotgunned to the face when leaving a tower - I was in said tower. I waited for 15 minutes until the person came in to try loot him, BK-12 slug to the chest took him out.
    I was shaking and had a heart rate twice what it should be for like 20 minutes even after I logged off, just from the adrenaline caused by the stress.
    I’ve never had another moment quite like that, even though I’ve had many more gunfights (won or lost) with much higher stakes involved since that time. At the end of the day, the anxiety and stress associated with DayZ is something you’ll only get over by playing again and again and again.
    Dying teaches you the most important lessons in this game, but it means that every death is a key learning experience you can use to improve. It’s not nice, but the more you play and the more you undergo those stressful situations, the better you’ll be.

    It would be so helpflul if you could test with another player the different sound we perceive with just one wall appart for exemple, one stairs appart, one level appart in building... Thank you again ^^

    When/if I think or know a player is in a building and the interaction will be violent, I always begin the engagement with a grenade or flashbang. Odds are the player is waiting in a corner for me to thread the needle and not prepared for a grenade. Even a stone throw will make the player shift or fatally move and give you the advantage.

    Regarding the direction you should run in when getting shot at, it’s also much easier to hit a target that is not moving side to side (running parallel) as opposed to running perpendicularly across the shooter’s horizon

  • @ededdneddyyy
    @ededdneddyyy 10 месяцев назад +2

    I don't know how armor works in the game but IRL you want to be square with your opponent so their rounds hit your plate and not your flank.

    • @thebreakerofwalls9036
      @thebreakerofwalls9036 5 месяцев назад

      True but the game only registers body armor points and helmet armor points, not specific openings in your armor or helmet... I'd be running around as a knight lol

  • @MadsPerschke
    @MadsPerschke 10 месяцев назад +1

    Regarding the crosshairs... also, it's a good idea to keep them at the midbody-level, as you're much closer to your opponent's head then. And headshots quicker deal much more damage than bodyshots, since you don't wear a plate carrier on your head. :)

    • @camcantrun
      @camcantrun  4 месяца назад

      So, everything in life and dayz is situational right. But, I would say, jiggle peaking is the opposite of predictable. Predictable would be wide peaking, or as call it in the gaming world "swinging" wide on an angle to check everything. Jiggling gives you variability.

    I have like 3000 hours in CounterStrike: Source.
    Oldschool lol.
    Aiming at the ground is the #1 issue players have that I see in ALL FPS games and it took me a bit to overcome it myself... cus we are always looking for ammo and new gear. Even in games with no pickups, its a common habbit.
    I see people complain all the time "WTF I never see the guy that gets me!!!" And they screw with FOV settings and crosshair placement and HUD transparency and stuff.... and run around looking at the ground. 😂
    You should be looking a mile down the road, like driving. Cus the stuff in front of you is easily noticed even if not in focus. Our brains are set up to notice patterns and motion. I have had to scope a stump or shadow across a field so many times cus it looked like a guy and brain wouldn't let it go. 😂
    Standing still and running around like they are on fire are the other 2 issues.
    Standing in a doorway or upright in the middle of a parkinglot to snipe through an 8X scope, you have literal tunnel vision and stick out like a sore thumb with a giant foam sore thumb on it. You can't see around you, you are wide open from all sides, and a major temptation for all the knife guys.
    Conversely, running around frantic with no deliberation or plan, never stopping to look, listen or cut an angle... all that just makes you easy to spot, and difficult for you to spot someone else as well as making it impossible for you to aim accurately cus everything is a jump scare. 😂
    Just watch tactical teams enter an engagement. You would think they are afraid because every movement is careful, pre-thought and in cover. They will take cover behind a fence post if there is nothing better, cus 2/3 of a visible targetable silhouette is better than a whole one.
    Everything is deliberate and informed, they don't guess or assume an enemy position. And they have an exit plan.
    Of course... there is no respawn in real life, so you can still have a little fun with it in a game. 😂
