Bullet Journal system created by Ryder Carroll
STEPS:
1. Grab a notebook and a pen and other tools you want to use to decorate your bullet journal with
2. Write your name on your bullet journal
3. Write your contact information on the inside
4. Make your 3-page index
5. Number every single page
6. Make a key, color coding is optional
7. Create your future log where you can record big tasks you want to accomplish
8. Create your "monthly" by numbering your page with how many days are in the month
9. Create a spread (two pages) for tasks, goals, and notes
10. Create your "daily", which is where you will record what happens each day of the month
11. Always remember to index at the beginning of a new month

For all the newbies out there:
One thing she forgot to mention is that getting a notebook that is either dot grid or a gridded notebook will help you immensely with making it look better.

Don't let that stop you. I go through phases where I fall off because I'm super busy and don't get the chance to sit down and do my journaling. I actually like Bullet Journaling because when I'm ready to pick back up, I just CAN and there's not ten pages of missed days taunting me for not keeping up, haha.

Guys btw it doesn’t matter what ur bullet journal 📓 looks like. It can include what you want. You don’t need an index and u don’t need a key. It’s ur creation so don’t get stressed 😩 and have fun. It’s ur journal, ur creation!!

The only thing you need to setup a bullet journal is a journal and a pen ... AND tons of color pens and rulers and stickers and scissors and tapes and ...

I have been watching different videos to start a bullet journal and this one was simple and fun, but I think what I enjoyed the most was that she was real and addressed the fact that we will make mistakes and it's okay! Enjoyed every second!

I actually just started one this month and I LOVE IT! I find cute monthly themes on Pinterest and it really helps me!! You guys HAVE to try it and all I use is crayola supper tips, black pen, ruler, journal, and washi tape!! 🙌🙌

I appreciate the simplicity and imperfect writing. It turns out JUST as beautiful - I am by no means a gorgeous writer so I am grateful that you have shown me ways for it to still look pretty!!!
I find collections a lot more fun to do. You can really let your creativity run free. I also don't have so much going on every week that I need to do a daily spread, since my monthly one covers everything pretty well. But the beauty of BuJos is that if that ever changes I can add them in. Because it's not so structured, you can customize it to your specific needs. Btw there are pre-numbered BuJos out there.
most of my "dailys" would be home work related so i just created a "weekly" home work page, im gunna have 52 but i'll save a lot of time and space
I bought a dotted notebook a couple of weeks ago because I've been wanting to start bucket journalling for ages but ever since I bought the journal, I've been procrastinating starting writing in it. This video really helped me to get that it's not scary and it doesn't have to be extremely neat to look really nice. Thank you!!!!

FINALLY an uncomplicated video about bullet journals!
For the index, u can just put different colored dividers or tabs to signify the start of a new topic and write their colors down in the index. So you can skip the hassle of writing down the page numbers. But you do you and just do whichever way you find most comfortable working with. ♥️
But remember you can change this system to how you need it. If you don't want to do an index don't, if you want to be artistist you can do that and make it colourful with lots of drawings. Make sure this is fun but helps and suits your needs!
Your video is one of the better bullet journal videos out there. A lot of people don’t engage the audience, you do. Keep it up!
This is whole journalling thing is a very successful marketing campaign for all those stationary companies. Also a good way to finally be able to use off all those notebooks, coloured pens/pencils, stickers, etc. that you bought on impulse just because they looked so cute.
Hey Noelle! Since June, I have been trying to find an organization/productivity/task management, will little success. I kept hearing about "bullet journal this" and "bullet journal that." Once I looked into it, it seemed feasible but I was terrified of the idea of not having a set structure. Needless to say, I just started my Bullet Journal last weekend. the Bullet Journal system gives just enough structure while giving me "permission" to deviate. So I'm loving the process so far!
I love your videos! I'm still practicing my cursive (yes, I'm old enough to have been taught cursive in school), and hand lettering. I'm not much of a doodler, but I'm really into typography and I like to collect fonts for my PC. Anyway, since we have the same birthday, I'm hoping that you can share some of your storage methods for all your pens, washi tape, etc.
I also wonder if you do your journaling in the same spot every time or are your supplies portable? Again, how do you personally make your supplies portable?
Keep those tips and ideas coming. You've really been an inspiration for me.

I'm not really into bullet journaling, I just find notebooks better. Like, i got a notebook for my birthday and I've been using it for writing song lyrics that I like, pasting posters of my fave bands, having my friends write in it, and my thoughts and opinions. I feel it will be nice to look back on when I'm older, and bring back memories

Excellent video - you move quickly but thoroughly through all the pertinent points without getting bogged down on showing off and yet you managed to spice up the art or journaling with little pops of interest on how to make it fun and pretty. The best thing about bullet journal is you can choose whatever you want to do. Which could be jotting down your boring life, tasks, wishlists, and so on. Either make it into interesting journal or just in simple minimalist way, that define whoever you are. If there is nothing much interesting happen today, then it didn't happen. You aren't forced to write anything. Cut it short, and continue on the next day to-dos. The blank space are for you. The journal function is to help you organise your life. It doesn't have to be beautiful or full of aesthetic that doesn't define you. You could make mistakes while journaling, and that's ok.
I have the exact same journal! I've had it for years and never knew what to do with it. A few days ago I decided to try bullet journaling, I find myself watching this video, and she's got the exact same journal that I do! That's so funny!

i want to try out bullet journaling but i dont know where to buy my supplies i dont want to buy anything to expensive and i dont want to buy anything that is not going to last long. Does anybody have any suggestions
lynnia freeman well it really depends on where you live.. personally I go to a bookstore (they sell supplies like notebooks, pens etc here) and buy a notebook that inspires me to work on...if there's none i usually buy a plain one and customise it. it's pretty easy and fun and if you ever feel like you're out of ideas there are plenty of vids here ;). then you know most cute stuff like post it's and stickers are gonna be kind of expensive.. sadly.. anyway if you want cute stuff that are Kinda and not reaaally expensive I'd suggest going to a store like target or Walmart or you know one owned by a big company in your country... Anyway the prices there aren't that bad, but if you're going for cheaper than that I'd suggest going to a dollar store...all the dollar stores around my place are pretty good quality wise and they have some cute stuff too from time to time. have fun with the journal, hope this helps!

Try Walmart! Tjmaxx, Michaels, target, Joanne's, etc. the possibilities are endless! I know michaels has awesome gel sparkly ball point pens that are pretty inexpensive. I got some a few years ago and they still work like a charm (-:

Well, this whole bullet journal thing was created by a man...
I use a pre made agenda that has a page for each day but I don’t use it to plan for the day, I use it as a diary, write about stuff that happened, what I’m excited for, what I Wan to achieve. I use the blank note pages at the back for like my mood tracker and all of that, and the calendar page for birthdays, important events and exams. I love making my own spreads but I just have no time to sit down for like 2 hours to plan the month haha
I'm going to make a bullet journal for my last semester at university. I want to stay organized, but I also want to have something to remember it by. I found you on SC, I'll be watching your videos, thanks so much for doing this!!

seawolf It doesn't have to be pretty. There are tons of people, that have minimalistic styles for their journals. Just check Pinterest, Instagram etc. But if you desperately want a 'pretty' design you can use stickers and stuff.

seawolf a bullet journal is basically a planner that is totally designed by you so if you only want to write in it without drawing stuff that's perfectly fine. As long as it works for you, you can do whatever you want with it. 🙃

The way people do the Bullet Journal now is what makes it intimidating. People spend HOURS decorating it like a scrapbook. It literally is a custom planner turned scrapbook. It can be crazy. If you watch the original bullet jounal setup video from it's founder, you'll see how minimalistic and simple it should be. That's where you want to start if everything seems too much for you. But everyone's different.

This is completely irrelevant in my opinion but a tip for any new bullet journallers is to always have a theme for your bullet journal and for all your monthly spreads it makes everything so much easier. For my 2019 theme i am focusing on a dark and sad mysterious sort of abandoned world theme. Alot like the last of us. Anyway just wanted to point that out. Feel free to prove me wrong
