I love the way how english people say ‚Leuchtturm‘ 😂❤️
Greetings from Germany...🌎
Airplane _2501 hey exactly what i thought
ps.Ich bin Deutsch
Airplane _2501 SO TRUE‼️ I’m not German but I could pronounce it correct 2 😂😂😂😂
Same 😂
Airplane _2501
I say “low-esh-term”
I am from London how do you say it
To anyone watching this video in 2019, I highly recommend the Archer and Olive dot grid bullet journal! The paper is so thick you can watercolor on it without bleed through. It is pricey but worth it if you want high quality!
I've been bullet journalling for a long time now and my favorite, which wasn't mentioned is the Rhodia notebooks! They're paper quality tops all (Clairefontaine paper). If you're thinking about starting a bujo, get a rhodia!!!!!
Just wanted to add, Clairefontaine have recently come out with A5 dot grid notebooks. Finally!! XD
which notebook have you been using? could you link me, :)
I agree! Rhodia has the best paper.. It's also the best for ink of any sort or for calligraphy. They have a new notebook out now that's called "goalbook" and has some nice extra features for bullet journaling.
Jenny :) I’m sorry for how late this was from when you put this. What’s a cheap but good kind I could try?
What’s the price?🤩
"I use a pretty specific journal, but there are so many different notebooks you can use that can work for different reasons."
TRANSLATION: The journal I use is not in partnership with SEVENTEEN and so I'm not allowed to promote it in this video.
lol
For a cheap journal I’d recommend the Artist Loft journals from Micheals they’re high quality for a really cheap price! If you buy them in store their $5! And if you buy online their $6.99 (which is a little annoying but still very cheap!) it comes in all different colors, they have lined, grid, and dotted. It basically comes with every feature you can get with a Leuchtturm journal, highly recommended!
I hate journals with the spiral thing (idk what it’s called) because I’m left-handed
lol same idk why i asked for the spiral bound one, but i guess it works out pretty well
I used to be left handed. Now right. My mother said I was the only left hander in the family so they trained me to write with the right and..now I can't write with my left
You can just make it backwards it still works. You can just say you’re edgy and it’s like manga
it is same to right handed people bc you have TWO sides of paper
*thats difficult for right handed people too*
I know that Walmart has a super cheap alternative, Amazon has the Amazon Basics/Amazon Gear notebook (same dimensions as a Moleskine); Amazon also sells Peter Pauper Press Essentials (available in dot grid as well as other formats) which is a true A5. I just purchased the Artist's Loft Dot Grid and Squared Journals for $5 each. The paper actually has less ghosting than my Leuchtturm, and I love the bright white. The dimensions are a bit unique (just under 6"x8") and the cover is soft and easily damaged - BUT it is hands down my recommendation for a beginner to experiment, as the actual square grid/dot grid has the same dimensions (5mm) as the Leuchtturm. I have yet to try a Scribbles that Matter notebook, but those seem really nice, as well - the price is closer to the Leuchtturm, but it includes a pen loop.
My son and I both have the Artist's Loft and the quality & features for the $5 are amazing. Paper is 80 gsm. I want to try some of the more high end dot journals but really I'm not sure it's worth paying 4x the price. AL has the pocket, 2 ribbons and 80gsm paper. A deal! My first journal was from Walmart for $6.64 and it's been great; a little narrow but paper quality is 85gsm and held together well over 9 months of constant use.
Suzanne Christian try the Lemome one it’s $13
Suzanne Christian the paper is 120gsm
Is it only me or the cheaper the bullet journal the better the paper quality is...??
Only you
It depends on the brand. Some brands are a good price for the quality and some are not.
depends on the brand
true!
YES. My first bujo was cheap but it was really satisfying and no bleeding or ghosting. But I wanted to see what the leuchttrum would be like so I bought it and there's a lot of ghosting.
I personally won't buy leuchttrum again :/
Maybe the leuchttrum is a special case? Idk it prob depends on the brand but I am kinda bummed with the leuchttrum.
You should note that the moleskin comes in hard cover option. I have one and the only ghosting I experience was with cheap pens and markers and permanent ink. Otherwise still a great book. I like that there is no preset index because I can choose to start with an index or start with a bullet key
Ashley Kraemer I usually use a moleskin
Michaels has a dot Journal by Artist Loft for 5 dollars right now. There is ghosting, but not awful and bleed through happens if you do more than one layer of color. 249 pages, index, hard cover, the two book mark strings. I love it so far!
You didn't note the weight of the paper other than to note how different pens react. Most of those books are 80 grams per square meter, the Miquelrius is only 70 grams per square meter, which is why it blead through so much more. There are notebooks with 90 and 100 gpm which could also be compared , such as Scribbles That Matter, Rhodia, and Lemome. Even the Amazon Essentials notebook is comparable.
I was looking for this comment
I think Noelle has done a great job in her presentation! I'm a BuJo beginner and I found this video and her other journal ones extremely helpful! Good job, Noelle!!❤
Wow!! I was so surprised the Marshalls journal held up so well. I was also surprised how poor the paper quality on the moleskine was considering how people seem to love the brand.
Hey Noel I just started watching you and you just inspired me with my heart. Now I feel like I can express my feelings because my friend Gianna said we weren’t friends for two months and you make me feel better for what’s happening in this crazy world
NOO don't give away my best kept secret! My pleather ECCO journals! D: I hope the TJMaxx etc stores don't get raided too badly heh heh
I recently ordered a Miliko Transparent Hardcover notebook a few days ago and after watching this video I feel good about my choice !
This is so helpful and perfect! Thank you for going through them all with details and explanations to help us newbies grasp which ones are best for our journaling type
I just got my very first bullet journal, ive been wanting one for a while. I also have a planner as well and I love having both!!
My bujo is by Lenome and I love it!! 😍

stop being so immature...
bea im being immature?
You’re great at presenting information. I found myself just wanting to sit down and have a conversation with you!
For any Australians out there, the X notebook from Officeworks is an almost exact dupe for the Miliko at about $2-$4 depending on the size! I'm currently using a $35 Moleskine but I plan to switch to the X notebook when I fill it, it has better paper quality and a nicer aesthetic at almost 1/10 the price
Thanks bruv
So the bullet journal I use is from Michael's, and its really good, it has an index already there, dotted paper, two bookmarks, and there is ghosting but no bleed through. The ghosting isnt absolutely terrible. There is also a strap to keep it closed, its sewn binding so the paper doesn't come up. The best part is that it's only $6.99! I totally recommend it. :)
Oh thank you for posting this. Im gonna check it out . :o
I just started bullet journaling (literally my journal came in the mail today) and I use the Essentials Dot Matrix Notebook from Peter Pauper Press and it's really nice so far.
This is a very helpful video. This gives me a chance to compare journals considering pricing and actual book quality.
I like The Leuchtturm, i have ordered one and cant wait for its arrival tomorrow, before i was just sticking to a normal card cover bullet journal which creased at the spine but now im getting a hard back leuchtturm with numbered pages and an index- personally, i would like to create the index but im not complaining because it takes so much time! Thanks for this video Noelle, i'll definitely use this for future use
xx
Hi I love how this is comprehensive, However, could you maybe type out the different types of the journals which you've reviewed in your description section? thanks :D
Hi Joanne,
The journals featured are:
LEUCHTTURM1917
BondiBook AF Medium Size
Northbooks Softcover 5x8 Journal
Northbooks Hardcover Journal
Miliko Transparent Hardcover
Miquel Rius Leather-look Journal
Moleskine Classic Colored Notebook
Happy bullet journaling!
THANKS for the quick reply @SEVENTEEN! Really helps me search the right thing on Amazon :D
Oh and the scribbles that matter are a really good choice
THEY HAVE A PEN LOOP, HIGH QUALITY PAPER, INDEX DOTED GRID AND A GOOD AMOUNT OF PAPER,
You did a fantastic review and comparison. Thank you!
Yes,the bondibook !
I hate the Leuchttrum. The ghosting is too noticeable (even some of my cheap notebooks do better) and it annoys and distracts me way too much. I can't use a lot of my favorite pens because the ghosting is so intense and it drives me nuts, and even pencils ghost through! I will finish working on it for the rest of the year because I have all my university stuff in there, but for 2018 I'm using a Scribbles That Matter journal.
The main good things about the Leuchttrum are that it's beautiful and that the paper feels amazing. Even the ghosting looks kinda cool when I look back at the old pages. It's just when I'm working on the journal-- when I need it most-- that I can't. It's just so so distracting.
Check out Rhodia and Clairefontaine :)
Yes Try Rhodia and Clairefontaine. I use fountain pens and their paper quality is amazing.
I heard somewhere that if you put a piece of dark colored paper underneath the page where you're writing, you can't see the ghosting on the other side.
Thanks for that tip, Guadalupe!! :D I put a piece of black card stock behind the page I'm working on and that makes the ghosting SO much better. It blocks most of the ghosting, and what little still shows through is not distracting at all. I'll keep a few sheets of card stock tucked into my go-to pages so I don't have to get annoyed looking at my journal anymore :D
My 13 cent composition book holds up better with bleeding than the Leuchttrum
Noelle the bullet journal queen
I'd go for the last one!! No ghosting at all, WOW!
I love the Scribbles That Matter!!!
I'm not sure if anyone does this as well, but I use a sketchbook as a journal just because they are thicker and if you use watercolors it will absorb it well. I never tried dotted or grid notebooks as bullet journals at all because I draw and I don't like the look of any kind lines or dots that comes with the notebooks already. let me know if dotted would be better though =)
Wow! Nicely done video! Love the music and you are so pleasant to listen to. The comparisons were great!
No one ever talks about dingbats journals, they’re super high quality and the paper is really thick and high quality, I love dingbats first , then scribbles that matter and then leuchtturm those are my favourites
Leah Hogan Oh My God I totally agree with you. I love my Dingbats Journal so much because it's everything I need in a journal
Isaac Plummer yes!!
Leah Hogan what's your favorite feature of the Dingbats
Isaac Plummer The design !!
Love this video! I started 2018 with a Leucttern, but I may look at a Bondi for the next one!
Thanks, I am new at bullet journal and this was very helpful.
Love this series!!!
a great selection. Thank you!
Your review was awesome! Thank you! Subscribed.

Very helpful videos!!!!
This was so helpful!!!! Thanks you
Noelle i love you, you are my bullet journaling goddess Xx
Wow. You're a diamond for doing this. X
my favourite is the dot journal!! it's so expensive and the quality is too good!
I've always wanted to try out a leuchtturm 😊 I own a moleskine and I really like it, I love the paper quality (even though I've heard lately they have bad quality paper). But idk, I'm also curious about the leuchtturm
Leuchrum is the one I’m getting
Hi.. I'm not sure if you will EVER read this, but I just wanted to say I love your videos. I am a new fan, watched a couple videos so far and now I'm obsessed. I just wanted to ask if this was a good idea for my bullet journal I am planning on starting.
Daily - A quote of the day, that I thought was funny or cheered me up a lot if I was sad at all. (Or if I looked it up on Google xD)
Monthly - I can change it into Monthly/Study Plans, and put in a color code for each subject to know which subject to study for, and for how long. I will also add in my other plans underneath the color for the amount of time to study. (I really need this)
Yearly - At the top of the page I write my New Years resolution at the beginning of the year and see how well I keep up with that goal.
I hope you like my ideas, and if you have anything that I could fix then please help me. I really would appreciate it.
I have been bullet journaling for 1 month today! And I use the Essentials dot grid bujo by Peter Pauper Press and it’s help up great through my learning (multiple mistakes) and I would recommend it to everyone 😊
Awww uploaded on my birthday :)
Great review...if you do a new review in the future I would love to see what your preferred characteristics are. There are so many options I am afraid I get a bit bogged down with all of the choice. Thanks again.
Papermate inkjoy gel pen is my favourite and I've been waiting for someone to test it on dotted journals
There is also a Michaels Dot Grid journal for 5$. No index, no page numbers or pocket. Although the paper is actually white, lays flat, minimal blead through and it’s great for beginners. I just started in November and I love that I saved 15$ and get to play around with decorations without thinking I’m wasting 💰💰💰.
Love this💖please do a flip through yours journal 💖💖
Girl I got my first bullet journal at Micheal’s for $5!!!! It has 249 pages, 2-4 (don’t remember) index pages, the info page, 2 book marks and I haven’t a had problems with bleed through yet! And it’s hard cover with the strap to close the journal. They also have a lot of different colors available and have grid or dotted options !
I like the maliko journal it may not have other qualities that the bondi book has but the paper quality is significantly better and I also liked the generic one at the end, I think I'll just go to marshals to get mine
Midliner Markers are really good!
Great comparison!
I personally love the mossery dotted notebook ! It is a bit pricy but the paper quality is amazing
I like my yellow Leuchtturm even though it ghosts a lot. I just like fancy things lol
Great video! I've also heard Scribbles That Matter is a good one
Reptarsaurus I have a yellow Leuchtturm too!😂📚
Daria Slimani me too 😅😅
Lemome is rly good
My fave book I'm using for my bujo is actually an art drawing book! It's available in A5 and next size up, and NO GHOSTING. AT ALL. I've used pen, felts, pencils, paint. Nothing. I love it. Paper is #70, and the A5 cost me $12 here in Canada at Staples (office supply store). It's smooth paper so doesn't ruin felt pen tips, there's no major drag. Soft cover (plastic), quite thick (not sure how many pages, but about a 1/2 inch thick), and coil/spiral-bound. No dots or lines, plain pages. Hope that helps someone!
Thanks for the suggestion! Needed some help finding plain pages this helped me a lot!
That's great! :)
I also use sketchbook (drawing book) since their paper is thicker. =)
“No, I do NOT need a new shirt Grandmother!”
personally, i use the Scribbles That Matter Iconic. The paper is thick and rarely shows lot of ghosting/bleeding. It is available on amazon and is really cool. I wish that it has a lot more pages because I always find myself wanting to create new spreads and other bujo stuff!
I LOVE YOUR VIDS!!!
I got my Moleskin for literally 13$ at target during black friday. Spend the whole xmas break journaling
Awesome video
I have the amazon exclusive and it’s amazing, not much ghosting.
The Lemome notebook on amazon is 14.99 and its basically bleed proof little ghosting. This one has dotted lines, thick paper, 150 plus pages, AN INDEX AND NUMBERED PAGES . Its really cool. I got mine and it came with stickers a pen and a ruler. It comes with a built in folder to. Its really good and has high ratings
I love your videos
this is so fun
I currently have a leuchtturm but I am looking into the bondibook or the scribbles that matter notebook for my next one
Her name is Noelle
I have a dream about her
She rings my bell
I got gym class in half an hour
Oh how she rocks
In Keds and tube socks
But she doesn't know who I am
And she doesn't give a damn about me
CAUSE I’m just a teenage dirt bag baby

LISTEN TO IRON MAIDEN BABY WITH MEEEEE
Skyler Jayy 1d yessssss!!!
i heard harrys voice when i read the lyrics
Heard harrys voice
That’s a wheatus song.... why are you all talking about one direction?
Vegan Potato Face because 1D did a cover of this song on tmh era
ARE THEY ALL DOT GRIDED??
It is really important to me
In Brazil the most used notebook is the "Cicero", and it is a hardcover notebook, with yellow pages, and a great quality
I use an Exceed brand dot-ruled journal that I got at walmart, very little ghosting, durable cover, pages lay flat. It seems to be just as good as the more expensive notebooks and was under 7 dollars.
I also reccomend the Exeed journal. I'm no expert at bullet journaling but it is about $10 dollars at Walmart and has everything the Leuchtturm has besides the stickers.
Fixed pages makes me anxious! Lol. So I rather have a notebook with removable pages to crumple, throw away, change the order and placement, etc. Plus I like to make tabs and sections. Like a section for Things/Items I moved, threw away, sold, gave away. And other important tabs...
shippermd what I am using is a book I got from office Deppo called the Tul. It has a hard cover shell and refillable pages. Paper quality is great too. It was 20 dollars for the whole note book. But refills run at 5 dollars. Maybe look into that I know Staples sells something similar too
Steph hey trust me i feel you. I am using the Dingbats Journal and trust me it is pretty awesome. I guess the transparent notebook Noelle mentioned would allow you to tear pages as well, although I don't one, it still looks pretty amazing
I use the Lech. Journal because I like to use watercolors and tombows for themes... however, I do love Rhodia which I recommend more
This is so helpful, thank you! Do the journals you have here list the weight of paper and what kind of media it takes well? I'm thinking of trying Watercolour paints for some of the doodling I do. I also keep art journals and have to tape down to avoid the paper buckling, but the main problem I've had in the past was the bleed through or pilling, where the paper lifts up.
My favs are Archer & Olive , Dingbats , Lemome and Scribbles that matter
I like all the journals but I like the last one (not my fav, all are) cause I want to make my own title and decor
got the miliko at goodwill for 1.99
yesss lets get those savings! :D
I just use a hardcover notebook that I found at Michael's for $5 and it's exactly like the leuchtturm.
You should make your own RUclips channel, I love your videos❤
Michael's has some Artist's Loft (their own brand) branded journals that go for $5 and you can even get it for $3 or less if you use a coupon (which is almost always available) and I'd say it's very high quality for beginners.
I also have the spiral bound journal but I just bought mine at the price of $3!
A great beginner notebook is the exceed notebooks at Walmart. You get enough pages for 1-1.5 years, 2 bookmarks, a strap, a pocket, and place for your name.
They are like 6 dollars
I have a moleskine (hardcover). I use all the pen used in the video and I have no problem with bleed through, sure there is some ghosting but I don't mind ! The only pen that cause bleed through are the "permanent" kind. But I don't see why you would ABSOLUTELY want to use those in a bullet journal.
So my goal for this year is to be more organized, and I've found using journals is really addicting, and I've done so many other goals just by doing these journals, because I have this list. So now I'm asking this; any recommendations for making this more fun? Thanks!
Where do you purchase these journals
hey guys i just got the Miliko Transparent Hardcover notebook and im unsure in what i want to show throgh the cover. Any suggestions?
Her face on 3:35 haha😊
No offence but are you irish cause my friend has the same last name as you and we are in ireland
I think I liked the spiral one I have not started but I think that is the best one for me because I like to decorate the cover and that one hard a clear cover
me gusto mucho tu comparativo 👍🏼
If you were to get the Miliko transparent hardcover and you wanted to change the cover, how would you do that?
I have a leather molskine cover. Would the bondy book be the same size as the moleskine?
Does anyone know a book that is round instead of squared and bound not glued but skinny also has a elastic with a pocket in the back ? That would be my perfect journal
The Artist Notebook is great for beginners... hardcover, elastic, index pages, two bookmarks, white pages, and only $5. Because it's cheap, there is ghosting and some markers will bleed through (Tombows don't bleed through).
