Hi Barry - will be interesting to see what Barclay finds. Either way, your tractor will be tip top with a working valve chest and well worth the expense. I don’t regret putting a new one in mine - literally fit and forget.
Hi Barry, good call to send it away,I have had to call on our local engineering company here in Whittlesey to get some parts madefor the Ferguson, gives you a nice feeling fitting parts you know are going to work,Looking forward to the next episode.
G Day Lance, It's time to let someone with a lot more experience than I have with these things, have a go and we'll end up with a working valvechest, and a brain intacked. many thanks Barry
Hi Colman, absolutely, no more scratching the grey mater, trying to work out whats not right with it, looking forward to getting it back, Many thanks Barry
I'm glad it's getting a trip down to Stuart. It'll be perfect when it gets back. I should have bench tested mine. I had a bunch of crud in the PRV valve. I know my spool is worn because it still hiccups a slight bit with a heavy implement at the highest point.
Hi Shane - I’m think I read something the other day about this. It seems DB modified the cam plate profile to avoid something like what you describe. I’ll see if I can find it. So perhaps it’s just a “feature”.
Hi Shane, there was reminents of rust inside the cap screw, so water's been all the way through the valvechest, with all those little parts rust is never a good thing, we'll see what Stuart has to say, many thanks Barry
Hi Barry, so close to getting it working - well done in all your efforts. Perhaps you could get an invite down to Barkley Williams to observe the test of your Valve Chest and maybe yourself or Barclay Williams could video it to show to all your viewers. What do you think?
Hi Terry, that would be interesting, but I have to remember it's about 5 hours down the road for me and could get expensive if it involved an over night stop after a day working on the valvechest, it also takes about three times as long to do the job when your videoing it, not sure if Stuart would have the time to commit, many thanks Barry
Interesting stuff this... Doing it right sometimes is a hell of a kot of trouble.. But it'll be worth it in the end, i have no doubt. Will be good to see what stuart has to say about it then, and what the fee will be. Keep it up 🔧🚜🇩🇰🇩🇰
Hi Barry have you done a video on how to fit the rear crankshaft rope? Have taken the old one out but the new one is a bit bigger than the groove that it supposed to go.keep the videos coming.
Hi John, sorry I did that before the video series started, however got to ruclips.net/video/aRu7lR2-vFQ/видео.htmlsi=vwXay2KMZDssiFt4 bundybears shed he does one on a 135 and the procedure is the same, just becarefull when fitting it into the carrier, I broke mine first time around, make sure to soak in oil for a week before hand to make sure it's soft and loaded. hope this helps many thanks Barry
I seem to remember that there are different parts in the dump vale on my 996 compared to yours. Be interesting to find out what BW have to do to fix it. M 😀
Hi Marshall, your absolutely right there are four variations of the valve internals, I've been trying to find a drawing Shane sent me with them on and the tractors they were in, drop him a message and see if he's still got it. many thanks Barry
Hi Shane, yes you could, I did that with the old one, it may be the restrictor plate or the seat isn't sitting right in the casting and allowing oil to pass, both the needles and seats where closing as you blow through them, mind 2000psi is a little harder than I can blow. many thanks Barry
Good job! Waiting for next video. Where can I buy the dump valve top cap? I want to test instead of my dump valve is leaking a litle as the arms are hiccuping....
Hi Jose, Barcley Williams has them, theres a link in the description and also on the closing credits, take you to their website, give Stuart a ring, tell him you got the info from me, it all helps both of us tremendously, lets know how you get on many thanks Barry
As I say everything happens for a reason you've done everything else on the tractor spot on so this will be inspected repaired returned refitted be like brand new be worth it in the end
Hi Jon, you need to know when you've reach the limits of your competence and I didn't want to carry on and possibly damage the castings, so we bow the superior knowledge and experience knowing that what we get back is working 100% job done, however we all have learned alot along the way and hopefully some tractor people will be less afraid to dive in and do the easier jobs themselves fingers crossed Many thanks Jon Barry

Hi David yes it will be interesting to get the feedback on whats going on in there,
many thanks

G Day Barry, These things can give the old brain box a workout at times eh. It will be interesting to see what he finds.

many thanks for your continued support

Barry just wondering could you lap the needle and seat to make them seal better ?? Or is there any point
