He handles the comedic bits just as well as the dramatic/depressing bits, you can really hear the emotion in his voice! Why haven't I heard of him sooner? Zeno Robinson does a great job (as usual) too as Lu Guang. Also 1:41 I love how Lu Guang is blushing a bit. At least I think so? The three lines under his left eye, usually those represent blushing. Cheng Xiaoshi is adorable with the kitty face he makes and the way he nuzzles Lu Guang playfully lol. Tsun Lu Guang is so cute too at 1:58. 2:00 And I mean come on Lu Guang, cut him some slack, it's a valid concern! How's he supposed to know, if no one told him? 😂
I'm normally not a fan of english dubs at all but Xiaoshi's VA immediately drew me in with how expressive he is. Not a fan of some of the english VAs but he alone makes it worth watching the dub. Lu Guang's eng VA also has some banger moments in season 2 8^)

I'd legit never seen a single scene from it until randomly coming across the S2 opening that someone posted on Tiktok, thought the animation looked really cool, kinda Makoto Shinkai vibes, and started watching it with zero info about the story or genre. Ended up binging it in like 4 days lmao
Be it platonic, queerplatonic, bromance, life partnership, whatever we wanna call it, it's really hard not to root for these two boys. They deserve to enjoy peaceful happy days together at the end of the story. But given everything that's happened so far, I'm starting to really doubt we'll get a true happy ending. It's more likely to be a bittersweet ending about accepting loss and moving on. Spoilers for season 2 ending below... Basically everything that's been going wrong is not just because of Cheng Xiaoshi's impulsiveness or carelessness when following his heart. It's due to Lu Guang's own hypocrisy as well. Cheng Xiashi is learning to accept the inevitability of death and to move on with life, as demonstrated when he chose to honor Lu Guang's teachings by not diving back in time to save the latter when he got stabbed. Cheng Xiaoshi matured throughout the first season to a point where he was willing to mourn his departed friend and resist the temptation of rewriting the past. Meanwhile, Lu Guang, despite seemingly having the foresight and the maturity to understand the inevitability of death from the beginning, turned out to be the one who just couldn't accept it. He was willing to risk causing more harm than good, and maybe cause many more people to die, by rewriting the past, just because he refused to accept Cheng Xiaoshi's death. I feel like this story isn't Lu Guang's journey to saving his friend. It's more likely his journey towards true acceptance, in which he learns that rewriting his time with Cheng Xiaoshi for an impossible chance at a continuation is not the way to go. And that he instead should cherish the memories he already had with his friend and move on with life, no matter how painful and difficult that might seem.
