This song is so beautiful. When you're from the harbor and move away, people don't understand. There is something about it. This song captures some of what I feel about my hometown. Thank you, Leroy.
Grays Harbor captures a lot of us. Souls find freedom outside but somehow there’s nothing like that salty water of the harbor. Makes me think of my mom. How I miss her. Thank you 🙏
As someone who was born and raised in Aberdeen Washington, I really love this song. To see people make it out of this one horse town makes me smile. Was to go Leroy Virgil!!! Hope to hear more of your music.
As somebody that lives in Aberdeen to, I love this song, plus I got to meet these guys in real life, my dads friend is related to these guys, I think you don't really care, so I'm going to stop talking.
Your voice has a very Kenny Rogers quality in it, same tone and gravel as The Gambler. I'm from the Kitsap Peninsula and some of my favorite memories from childhood were the yearly trips my dad and I would make in his old truck into Aberdeen to get split shakes to repair damaged roofs after the winter was over. His old Dodge topped out at 55mph and it would take hours to get there, but it was just him and me. This song makes me nostalgic for that so thank you for reminding me of great times.
I found this guy during this summer and started listening to all his songs. This was one of the last ones I heard and didn’t think it was the same Aberdeen. I grew up in the house next door to the Kurt Cobain memorial so hearing this song brought back a lot of memories. It’s not the greatest town but it has a charm to it
This song and this particular recording/video are perfect. Also great to listen to the original bathroom recording the night it was written. Leroy you have such a charming blend of honesty, musicianship, showmanship, and optimism. While some dispute the very specifics of Billy Gohl, there were more than 100 sailors who went missing, and many lost souls since then. This song is more about the lost than those who gain(ed) from their suffering.
The more I hear Leroy, the more I hear this generation's Waylon. At least I hope it's Waylon; if he flames out and does his best Cobain impression we won't get to hear much more. I'd like to hear a lot more.
I missed their last show in Houston (or last show that I know of) because I was in the hospital. In retrospect, I should have gone to the show, then gone to the hospital. Because, yeah, its that good.
Man, I saw Hellbound at a local VFW here in WA in a town called Montesano(10-15 min from aberdeen). This was well before anyone knew them, It was so god damned badass. These guys are local heroes.
Yes. It is a song about Aberdeen, Washington, USA and Kurt Cobain specifically. And Billy Gohl, who had a trap door in his building on the Wishkah River that he dropped many people through.
I do not like the way the city treats the less fortunate among us and the way people here are conditioned to treat them through a culture of propagated hate. A place where an elitist mentality has been bred, and a bigoted, racist ignorant pocket of people has been allowed to fester and infect effect and affect everyone here.
Born and raised in Aberdeen. This song just came up randomly in my list. I appreciate this song. Thank You !

Yes. It is a song about Aberdeen, Washington, USA and Kurt Cobain specifically. And Billy Gohl, who had a trap door in his building on the Wishkah River that he dropped many people through.

Born and raised in GH. Awesome song.
I think this song is about Billy Gohl, who killed many many people in this shitty town of Aberdeen.
+vnme nme Why don't you like your town?
