A brilliant song from a brilliant album. This isn't as easy as it may sound to play. In fact it was a right bitch to get right.
As a person who isn't a drummer this is wildly impressive to me. Holy mother of god. Attitude spilling all over the place!
That's why it's impressive. That intro was the equivalent of someone using the highest falsetto they can do in every line of Hallelujah.
And what's the purpose on speeding the song, doing that flourished intro and not being able to follow the cymbal time on the original one? Like, what the fuck?
This is so sick! To be that technically precise while simultaneously thrashing the ever-loving shit out of your kit is exactly what I aspire to
I wish you were the drummer in our band :/ we play 70s-80s punk you would fit right in. This the first time i've seen a drum cover of this song so damn perfectly.

Dead Kennedys bring me back in my punk era...not exactly mine but my Aunt was a punk back then in the early 80ies.. i mean a real punk, not one of these fashion dolls who put on a leather jacket, wore a Ramones t-shirt and a studded bracelet for a weekend, she was it 24/7, over 7 years. and that in her job as a nurse. she didn't throw anything away from back then and kept most of her clothes and t-shirts also LP's and singles. I have most of these now, and also wear a lot of things when we make music or for going out and - in everyday life. She got me into punk and into gothic (back then they call it Dark Wave).we call it Speed Gothic today. Great impressing drumming, because punk is hard to play on the drums, most can't play it. 👍🏻👍🏻🍺

I AM PROFOUNDLY IMPRESSED(and entertained) This is a masterclass showcase/example of what 100% commitment to one's art will provide: drummer, drums and song have become 'one', 'The Performance'. Any separation between the three elements has not only vanished, it is now also been made false by such a creative choice that you make. Gloriously

AND of course, I was BLOWN AWAY(and of course, YOU KNOW WHY). I watched a number of videos from this channel(you had me at 'Proud Mary'!), and honestly I'm at a loss for 'the word' to pay respect/tribute to your ability/talent. Many of the songs you covered were not known by me, and I thought maybe I should invite you to (Old School)check out Guy Evans VDGG, Ric Parnell Atomic Rooster, Michael Giles King Crimson, Carl Palmer ELP . . . THEN my 'deepening dive' found your website, and I became aware that you don't need anything that I have to offer. I MUST SAY, 24 hours ago, my first impression was this woman isn't 'going somewhere', she 'is there'. A joy to watch you integrated with other talent musicians who made sure you were/are their drummer. Violet the Cannibal, your drumming is EXCITING! I am aware that only hard work and dedication brings someone to your level(when speed and precision 'appear' effortless). Guess which drummer I'm showing off to my musician friends . . .

Thank you for this. The version from Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables is absolutely the better version, and you totally killed it. Every other cover I’ve found is the version from Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death, which is far less challenging or interesting.
it is tricky one took me a while to get it right. not as easy as it sounds for sure . thank you .xx
The version on Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death is not that easier: the bigger difference is the initial part, which does not have the single stroke roll. The rest of the song is pretty similar.
I think the biggest difference is to play it like Slesinger did, so with that jazz touch that many drummers don't have. In this video the song is played in a rough way, not like the original one (although it has to be said that it is really well done👏).
