Hi Alex hope you get well soon the guy who wrote the buckle book and I shared lots of permissions in the past. But I haven't seen Chris for years he just stopped coming on the site. many of those in the book are in my collection . Lovely finds, & right outside your door, pretty much. Have you considered taking a swing in your garden while you recover? Sit in a chair, do the area around you for a bit, move, repeat. Take it easy, another month & you should be ready to go. Rest now, play later. Get well, & thanks for the vid.

That machine is very special... it magically moves across indoor floor surfaces and removes all the dust and small bits of dirt from them! Its a Dyson! 😂 I only noticed it there after I had done the video! 😂 Shall I do a video on how to use one of those?! 😁 Hope all well with you both! x

hello Alexander. I had the luck to find 2 roman fibula brooch fragments around Colchester last week. Now, I too, can start my own fibular brooch drawer!!!!!

I've dug up several Tudor and Stuart buckles and I found that website invaluable for ID purposes. I printed off the various pages from the original book and put them in a folder to use as a handy reference.

Years ago 35 actually I found some great buckles ,some where silver and I gave them all to different farmers wish I had them now.good video

I do hope you are digging by spring, Ally. I did not know that Charles II had milled coins. At least it sure looks milled. All I have ever seen is hammered. And with the date clear is amazing! Now I have to look up Edward 6. Never heard of him, much less seen anyone dig one up. I look forward to you back in that little pasture to see what else is there.
I think they were basically the first milled coin Cyndye but don't quote me on that I might be wrong but I think Charles II was there starting point… I'll have to look it up now! Hope all well with you and thanks for watching… Oh Edward V! is very interesting he was the son of Henry VIII, I should've said, but only ruled until he was 15…
@@HolzhammerLite I thought it had to be that Edward, but did not know he ruled long enough to have a coin struck. I learn new things almost daily.

They're not that common a coin actually Dave and they do definitely confuse the first time you see one because it don't quite add up do they!? Anyway, hope all well with you and thank you for watching!

If you press that fob seal into some blutac it will clean it out a bit more and show the seal the right way round, great vid btw

@@HolzhammerLite forensick arkeoligy in'it! There are those that think waving a stick that beeps over the ground is the work of the devil! I kept a horse on the escarpment of the South Downs, there were springs from the chalk, a lot of little pewter 'pilgrim's amphora' where found, the local club were permitted after each harvest.

@@HolzhammerLite no I used to talk to then when out riding, they found a fair bit ww2 stuff, 303 cases etc, but the amphora were their oldest finds I think
That is really interesting about your landlord and unfortunately, like you on that occasion, I often fall foul of my honesty. Even at 10 years old, I asked a guy if he lost a fiver I found. Mum gave me a clip for that as he obviously took it.
I want a seal now. Love the thought as they so personal.

Hi Mark - I started this one for shorter, snappier videos as they dont work very well alongside the longer ones on HolzHammer Sagas and its a shame to waste a good short hunt! I do cleaning stuff and other less "diggy" ones here too! Hope all well!
