      Bots are insanity on Helldive. It's wild getting jumped by 4 striders the moment you're dropped in and then 5 more drop ships come in.

      Isnt it a good thing that the highest difficulty in a game is unbelievably hard to nearly impossible to win? I see in countless other games that players complain of endgame being too easy (even though it required many hundreds of game hours before these players found it to be too easy)
      From that point of view isnt it best if the highest possible difficulty is near unsolvable?

      That and while the survivors are stuck under the wreck, their weapon fire isn’t. It always seems to be able to clip the wreck too.

    Pretty sure the SEAF tells you what shell is loaded when you call it in. Be nice to know before the shell is launched.

      I think it shows the last one you called in, so if you have smoke-mini nuke and you fired the smoke then use it again it'll say smoke iirc

    It's not just the higher difficulties, where it may be more prevalent. My buddy and I typically play 5/6(just the two of us) to just mindlessly zone out, and yesterday every extraction was bonkers. To the point of frame rates tanking on PS5. The patrols seemed less, and it's like all the bots went to exfil. 17 scout striders, 25 berzerkers, 5 shield and rocket devs, 2 hulks, 3 drop ships and just squad after squad of little guys. All with in about 1 min of starting exfil. Doesn't happen every mission maybe every 1 in 5 or so with the bugs. Fun, but crazy.

      Ya that's awesome. Wish it happened every mission but don't want to get greedy. The chaos is about the only reason I play. Me and my squad intentionally let robots call in reinforcements to bring excitement to the game. If you just stick to objectives! 9s are boring with a 4 man. We add excitement via bot drops. Seeing a factory walker or two get dropped off with a couple tanks and more hulks than I can count with my fingers and a division of sheildons...almost brings tears of joy from these eyes

      @@lukemehalick370 The thing is, I don't play the game for any sort of challenge. It's an after work 2-3 hrs of mindless fun game for us. So the occasional crazy exfil is fine by me.

      You noticed that too? I find it's not just on exfil. It's everywhere. If the planet you're on is got a lot of wide open area they show up in huge numbers. Dropping walkers and berzerkers almost as much as infantry. It's like there was a sea of red lasers just coming at us like tidal waves. I was struggling to remember if it was ever like that before. It just cranked up the closer we got in objectives towards exfil. Once we even went to get a treasure locations that had three units guarding it and I sware thirty showed up in less time than I could yell "HOLY SHIT!"

      And the game was great enough to be pushed by organic methods, not the mainstream publishing methods that sony chose. Sony pushed the organic methods later on because they were working better. The game was pushing itself even without them.
      Sony is responsible for nearly killing the game. No idea where you're coming from. Your 'cope' comeback makes no sense and shows that you have little to no factual knowledge on the topic.

    9:19 there was a short period of time when the SEAF artillery would tell you the shell, but it got removed. same with pinging the map for POI's getting removed.

      Only thing that comes to mind is artificially increasing player engagement by making you spend longer on the map to find poi's, if that is in fact something you pursue..
      Though that fails my logic as me and the boys would be on planet till the timer ran out looking for those sites.
      So who knows. 🤷‍♂️

    I've noticed two fairly recent bugs that have made playing against bots even less fun:
    - Sometimes bots can simply walk over defensive walls, boulders and scale mountains as if it was flat terrain, making any cover you find completely meaningless
    - Had a few instances where bots (mainly shielded devastators) were able to shoot through large rock formations making covers even more useless

    one of the most grievous ragdoll issues is the involunatary animation (for the player) of their character attempting to stand up over and over! They should remove that immediately, so you can stim and have time on the ground. You can always move on your own and begin the standing up process.

      I 211% agree. Im reloading on the very small limited cover and then something slightly ragdolls me and my character stands up in the crimson bolt lit hellscape and get pulverized. Bruh...

      This would actually be a great way to add balance to bot fights, too. You lose a lot of time (and as a result take a lot of extra damage) to the standing animations when you could be shooting, stimming, or stratagemming. Could even make it a toggle option in the settings if you wanted to, since the ground is your enemy against bugs

      Don’t do that man, it’s perfectly okay to take a break!

    My biggest problem with bots is all the stagggering and ragdolling add it the crazy ammounts of heavy bots And the fact that all bots can just randomly headshot you And man bots just needs some work

      I dunno, on higher difficulty bettlefield awareness and picking your fights is key. I dont feel like a suffer as much. With a well coordinated team you can make quick work of any situation as not permitting it to get out of hand, works.
      People also focus on one thing too easily, even in real life. Its not always ideal if everyone is engaging the same targets.

      As long as you get a good initial drop, bots are easy on lvl 9. They have annoying quirks like side by side gunship fabricators that get bugged and stuck on the production alarm and spit out 4 a piece in a matter of seconds, but they aren't hard.

    I love this game but the spawns are so broken still. I was playing a level 4 and I got 5 hulks, and just constant spawns of devastators and striders and aimboting bots that find me even when I’m trying not to be seen or from over 250 meters away. I couldn’t catch a break. Just tired and I want to come home after a hard day of work to relax, not get frustrated by a game. It’s honestly not just higher levels but all levels.

      We tested the smoke and they still aimbot through the smoke, even from over 200ms. I was so annoyed then. They said the bots wouldn't be like, AI or something and would be able to cut LOS. But they chase forever.
      Omg, recently I was patrolling alone and 3 devastated spawned right on me with atank, killed me instantly and then simply vanished. No drop ship, I watched them spawn on top of me as I was reloading and just killed me and then despawned a second later. I got it on stream...I just logged off after that.

    I play for the gameplay. When i find gameplay getring stale, i switch up my loadouts to try something new. I still have 3 of the newest ship upgrades to unlock by in my opinion those are just a bonus. I love this game. Log in any time i can.

    My friend and I recently did an ore survey mission where every single bot drop for the entire mission came with a Factory Strider, patrols were spawning faster than we could clear them, constant Gunship patrols that always seemed to have the max of 5 ships and spawned in already aggro'd, despite not being anywhere near a player, and all of the typical "sniped through terrain by heavy devastator swarms" stuff. And when we finally got to the ore location, the final primary objective point, with only a handful of reinforcements remaining, the bot drop that followed contained not one, not two, but THREE Factory Striders. We threw in the towel at that point. Even with a squad of 4 did not have the resources to deal with that. We failed the mission, and were incredibly frustrated, because we felt like we played as well as we ever did, and there was just no path the victory. We always play Helldive, and it's been a long time since we failed a mission, even accounting for pugs who seemingly have a suicide pact and chew through our reinforcements like candy. It was incredibly disheartening, and we quit for the night right then and there, too disgusted to play anymore that evening. We are 100% okay with failing when we play poorly and make mistakes, it's happened before, and that's fine. What we hate is feeling like we were never given an opportunity to succeed in the first place. And no, this mentality of "sometimes you're meant to lose" is bullshit. Nobody wants to play a game they can't win.

      I was playing an epic diff 7 yesterday. Got separated from the group because of massive spawns and ended up soloing a side objective and finding the super samples at the edge of the map. I got pinned down behind the sample rock, throwing all my strats at spawns and downing gunships with my AC and actually holding out! Then... Disconnect and crash. So disappointing. I shut off tmy computer and read a book instead.

      This may be an issue with your set up, not the game (assuming you're on PC). I had over 20 hours in the game before I could play on any difficulty above 4 because I had to solo all my missions. Check to make sure there are limiters on your motherboard, as the game is likely causing it to overclock, which your processor can't handle.

    In regards to the rocket devastators.
    My head immediately laughed at the monkeys paw idea of them 'fixing this' in regards to endless rockets being them using up all their ammo... And then moving to find the nearest ammo that we use in order to reload. xD

    Honestly, I find the bots easier to deal with than bugs. I just never figured the right loadout to help deal with the sheer swarming numbers that overwhelm and keep you knocked down. The bots are individually tougher, but they come at you in the hundreds, not the thousands.

      Same. I never play bugs because I just get swarmed. Bugs feel like a stat check. Do you have enough dps or meta gear to clear them out fast enough?
      Bots I can legit solo on difficulty 7. I don't think I have ever solo'd a bug mission on that difficulty.
      I feel like bots let you play tactically, using cover, kiting, and such, where bugs are just swarming you.

      true, bots are actually kinda dumb as their patrol while many doesnt just walk towards u randomly(at worse is they stare at you menacingly) and while flamethrower is usually my go to for bugs i just kept getting hit by random hunter(skill issue ik) and it pisses me off so much cause it slows me down and i kept using light armor the dmg is like 1/4 of my hp so end up stimming every single time

      It's playing to your strengths and weaknesses, depending on the mission and enemy type.
      You'll have to adapt your loadouts depending on the situation, but in reality, you can make almost anything work.
      Personally, I try to keep a mix of support weapon, defensive pack, and eagle/orbital/sentry/exosuit that would allow me to clear swarms, as well as larger enemies. Sometimes I can't deal with a particular problem or enemy so I rely on my team mates for help, using comms.
      Personally, I enjoy bugs over bots more but I do mix it up. With bugs, lately I've been enjoying the MGs more and I run with a Sickle primary, in which I use the Sickle until just before overheating, and then switch to MG or HMG (preferably on thicker targets) for sustaining the onslaught, only to spend a few seconds allowing the Sickle a breather to then switch back to it and rinse-repeat.
      Chargers and Bile Titans are a problem with this method, but Bile Spewers are definitely not. I almost always run a staple Auto-Cannon Sentry and with good placement, takes care of Chargers and Bile Titans when I need to. I use stun grenades, grenade pistol, and team mates.
      My priority targets are always Stalkers/Hunters because they can really derail things, everything else is easily avoidable, you can pretty much side step everything except for Stalkers/Hunters.

    Personally I feel like we are always invading a planet that the bots already own they don’t need or want cover , they know cover would only benefit us which is why they chose those places to defend - this is from a roleplay perspective it makes sense for us to not have any cover .

    Tbh, Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox doesn't make sense with Sony's current rhetoric. 177 countries still alienated. I live in one of those countries but fortunately for me, I already had a psn account linked and the game was already installed when they fully implemented it. Now Xbox doesn't have the stringent restrictions Sony has for countries and a Microsoft account is pretty much global. So are sony going to mandate that Xbox players have a PSN account to play or would a Microsoft/Xbox account suffice? AND IF SO, would they then restrict the Microsoft/Xbox account linkages to countries NOT on the 177 list? That seems like a stretch to me. Sony doesn't actually care about what their doing as long as they make the money. That's why Sony, just like EA, are shit companies.

      I would assume you do need a PS5 account to play Helldivers 2 on Xbox. Sea of Thieves requires an Xbox account, so it makes sense.

      Its NOT going to Xbox Jesus..Its Sony's game, SONY owns the IP, Sony isn't having trouble selling hardware and or software because they don't have a bunch of welfare queens relying on a Welfare service like Xbox....Xbox is putting games on everything because Xbots don't buy games so they want Sony and Nintendo players to buy the game
      Xbots don't buy games, Sony wouldn't ever consider it to get WelfarePass pennies and Arrowhead has ZERO say.

    I want three major changes for the endgame in Helldivers 2:
    1. If you kill off one faction you should gain a permanent buff until the campaign resets.
    2. Endgame planets, unique locations and bigger and more bad ass enemies.
    3. Battles on super earth (once we're pushed back or surprise attacks happen). In HD1 you were fighting in destroyed cities when super earth was under attack, we need this for HD2 as well!
    In general more vehicles, I want the warthog, apc and tanks back...
    Also please give us a Pelican stratagem, initial attacks are rockets and then it just hovers over you and providing air support for like 30 seconds.

    Is it just me or does helldivers suddenly get massive lag spikes that last around a second and then just end? I've messed around in settings and even full performance mode doesn't affect this

    Dude I just want more maps that are open and less cluttered. Every map my team seems to get is dotted by lakes or huge ridges, or if it is decently open or cool looking it's drenched in fog or dust. Would be sick if we got the ability to drop down some placeable cover or something too.

      @@rayzerot It would kinda suck, but that's not map design that enemy design. The bots should be the anthesis to the nids, not the same thing.
      Bots, even though they're 90% ranged, they always rush into melee distance no matter what. That seems like an enemy AI problem.

    As far as seeing what’s in the SEAF, I remember this well. It happened when I was playing on a daily basis. One day I logged on, and it would show what was loaded in next as you brought up your stratagems. It was a small, but amazing, feature…and it was completely gone the very next day. It was very odd the way they did it, as it almost seems like they were teasing what should be a standard feature.

    "I want to play more strategic and creative" Then bring some smoke? Try stealth? I use eagle smoke strike for when I need a break from getting shot at or to do some objectives solo. It works wonders. The tools are in the game already, the neuronal flexibility to access that creativity is clearly lacking in most players.

    the hidding part is important. The jungle-planet was MUCH easier on helldive than the other ones.

      The open Field was mostly on Martal, the Ice Planet before had plenty of Cliffs etc to break the Vision.
      If you dont want to fight a Bot Drop you can just run, by the Time they land and start moving you´re already gone.
      On Martal they spotted you from 500 Meters away

    Yes it is the open maps. I immediately noticed it when moving from marfark to martale. Marfark has nice cliffs and ice abutments that stand out and provide some nice cover. Marfark also has broken areas that become waterways that stop patrols from traversing the entire map. The maps need to be more detailed in this way or it’s gonna be a rough time. Ps: I only play on helldive and my teams win most of their missions.

    I’m a level 98 and I refuse to play bots anymore until impact is fixed. I run explosive resist armor and ballistic shield to deal with most of the bots but I’ll get knocked over 1 foot and die of impact damage. Tumbles that previously left me at half health instantly kill me now. I like playing against bots but impact is killing me on instances that it shouldn’t kill me on. So until that is fixed I’ve hung up my cape

      Use vitality booster. You'd be surprised how many hit points that booster adds to your diver. When reading your comment I thought, "bet he used vitality booster then didn't & got to this conclusion because of that."

      I play Balisic Shield vs. Bots too, and I'm pretty confident this is the Shield's hit box still being broken. Near as I can tell, when they "fixed" it (after breaking it the first time) this started happening. I think the Shield sometimes clips into your body, and the game responds by killing you and citing "impact" as the cause.
      First person Balisic Shield was also broken by that "fix", so I've just stop using that loadout at this point.

    Bots will always be my preferred front of the two, but yeah it definitely needs work. I feel like the patrol fix worked the first half day it was released, and then it got WORSE. I’ve seen patrols literally manifest in front of me in every direction I’m trying to reposition to. The “cover” thing is cap tho. If you’re not getting pincered by bs spawns, you can usually fight from cover to cover with no problem. The real issue is that too many people aren’t thinking tactically enough.

      Communities and major orders go without saying. Compare the player counts during either major orders, or simply between major orders. It's not that complicated to figure out which is why I didn't explain it in the previous comment.
      The majority of players prefer bots. In your community, it could very well be different. That's how communities work. I was referring to the player base as a whole. It's not an opinion. It's a statistic. If you want to argue against the statistics, you either need to go back to school and ask your math teacher for help or you need to ask God for help, depending on what it is with the statistics you're struggling to grasp.
      I hope this helps you construct better comments in the future instead of relying on passive-aggressive statements. Even if you were trying to be humerous, "grass touching" stopped being funny several years ago. Come up with something unique.

    SEAF Artillery used to show the current shell readied.
    But, my beef with bots and bugs is the spawn rates of patrols, said patrols making a beeline to your position via explosions or sentries, with completing a objective.

Unless you have a grenade launcher, or something that fires quickly. Quasar basically useless because of the recoil, so a set of 3-4 of them together is a nightmare to deal with.

    The enemy ammo thing is interesting. It does seem like they should have some kind of limit and have to reload/resupply from something. Maybe a reloading bot or ammo container drop they have to go to (but we could also reload from). And it would be interesting if the rocket devastators ran out of rockets after x number and would have to use a secondary gun or just melee.

    tbh cover shouldn't be an issue if you think about it for a moment. If everone in the squad takes the deployable shield bubble they can make their own cover. Thing can be crazily op. But I do welcome more biomes ( where is my urban map and my underground map - yes, i still want that despite stratagem issues ?). And give devastators a max ammo barrier.

    Upgrades to the extraction shuttle (Pelican) would be great. A few ideas i had was to add a force field to it when it lands, or mounted guns that players can use when entered. By upgrades, i mean the one you get using samples.

    Bunkers and lookout towers for sniper players would be so huge. Fighting using their bases against them is one of the best feelings but some of the flat maps are genuinely hell when there’s no cover and 3 tank towers and a factory strider have you pinned between 4 patrols

    It seems most people really do prefer the bugs some some reason. We have a liberation modifier that = no resistance and way faster lib times but yet 60% of the player base went to estanu bug land instead of liberating Charon Prime followed by Charbal to lock down the sector. Tactics be damned tho I guess. IMO, bugs are kind of uninteresting to fight. Swarms and point blank fighting is fun to an extent but I find the bots just much more satisfying to go up against. Having to use cover, ambushes, flanking, target prioritization/popping the commisar to prevent reinforcements, it just hits better for me on the bot side.

    I have never been in a situation where I didn't have any cover unless I made a grave mistake in my positioning and judgement. Even the wide open maps have plenty of structures, rocks, hills, divots, and even craters in the ground from heavy bombardments or prolonged engagements. I love the cover dynamic in this game, it feels very realistic and it's one of the most enjoyable aspects of fighting bots, at least for me.
    The problem is bots shooting through fog, smoke, storms, and other barriers from extremely long range, with relatively high accuracy, for an infinite amount of time. Also the fact that rockets can one shot you in the head from across the map (with heavy explosive resistance armor), or ragdoll you forever so you can't even play the game.

    Tbh I think it'd be pretty simple to make a deployable cover stratagem. Could even be a throwable with an energy shield wall, tall enough to crouch behind. Maybe have it reduce the ragdoll effects for divers behind it, so they can actually utilize said cover.

    I think adding more cover could be a great thing but Helldive should stay hard. It's the highest level of difficulty for a reason and with great strategies such as clearing patrols before they call in backup or not engaging in all combat to name a few makes Helldive a lot better to manage. Also, nothing feels more badass than clearing an entire bot army while avoiding gunship fire. I would love for level 9 to stay as is.

    I don't usually play on 8 or 9 because it's less fun than 7. 7 bots feels balanced. Higher than that, and it's sometimes laughable while you're tossed around from rocket barrages continually. I think the biggest balance needed is those rocket devs that can hit you from 200meters out like the rockets are photons.

    The lack of cover on snow maps is why I really hate playing bots on them.
    And also the knee high snow that slows you down.
    And then you have 2 gunship factories in the middle of an open, snow covered plains.

    Yes, bots are harder. But... People do complete helldive difficulty regularly. So it is not "broken". If one particular person can't do it, that's not a problem. Play on a lower difficulty.

    That fella's right, bot and map design does skew the combat in their favour. The majority of bugs spend most of their time gap closing whereas the heavy ranged focus of the bots allows them to engage much more easily on open maps and their cover penetration makes it even easier. More structures would help as would trenches if they didn't want to pack the map with bunkers.

    Regarding cover, I actually wouldn't mind more structures and little set pieces, like improvised barricades set up by SEAF units before getting overrun, and stuff like that, especially on planets we're defending. Also, I think the Devastator variants need a nerf, like making rocket ones have either a limit to their rockets or having to slowly reload, and the heavies being less accurate, especially when moving.

    Charon Prime had an average of of 5000 divers on it yesterday and we are already at 38% liberation while the 10k divers on Estanu made little to no progress.
    if we manage to liberate at least 2 planets before the modifier is removed it will make great progress against the bots

    Sometimes bots are decently manageable. Other times if you get the worst luck (jammers and gunship facilities right next to each other) it can become overwhelmingly stressful.

    Players generally focus on gameplay changes, bug fixes, and balance. What sits on my mind, though is the lack of progression opportunities. I would love more things to spend my requisition on, I said, maxed out constantly, so there are no real rewards for missions. Samples come at a steady pace, no concerns there. But I also miss the system from the first game, where you could purchase talents for specific stratagems to specialize.

    I've thought it'd be cool and help balance if automatons had to go back to resupply somewhere. A bot that carries ammo, a outpost, various stuff. If they are cut off from supply, they are down to more basic weapons. Bugs could panic, rely on a queen or something and scatter when there's too much firepower or something. Mix up even more the difference of enemies.

    On the lowkey the bot spawning is kinda muffed up on level 6/7 too. As we push a base I’m met with 5 hulks in one base, 4 devastators, 2 heavy tanks, a light tank and then the reinforcements brought 3 more hulks, devastators and a few dozen of the standard T-1000s which aren’t too big of an issue but almost 10 hulks in a 2 minute time frame is insane

    I just started to play this game and I had such a good time, found a really nice new Zealander who teached me all the basic mechanics spawned a mech for me and it was just great. Today I surely return and hope that my new friend does the same. I really love this game now!

    A bug main or perhaps former by now. Dropped into the last major order and rocked the bots on all diffs. Why can their lasers shoot threw some of the rocks, makes taking cover unless. A time delay on the rocket devastators just like the shoulder mounted one, it shoots and waits for a bit before shooting again. Beyond that, bots currently aren't as impossible as many iterations before.

    Bot drop ships can be fixed if you make it when they hit the ground it is the same explosion as a 500g but a larger radius by about 1,1/2

    Is it just me or precision orbital strikes are not landing where you drop the stratagem pin?? Happens a lot when dropping them on chargers

      Make sure to check the mission modifiers before you drop. One of them is orbital scatter and it'll cause all orbital strikes to land off target. There's also the fact that orbitals are fired from your ship above the map and will be angled based on where the ship is in relation to where you are. This could mean the difference between a strike landing on a charger or a rock next to the charger.

    Bot destruction due to air lift takedown should be relative to the gravity of the planet. Gravities should also be varied more from planet to planet.

    My biggest gripe with the bots is the drops. I can fistfight my way through patrols and even drops. But when said drops just pop in 2 walkers.... thats a bit too much. IMO bots are the most epic and fun missions in the game but can get real frustrating real quick

    5:52 on this topic, what i feel like is heavily needed is that rocket devs and heavy devs need a little bit more downtime between their volleys. There have been multiple times where im vs a heavy dev behind cover, wait for him to finish, and am only able to get like one shot off before im staggered and lose half my hp. I used to not think this a problem when i had the o.g. breaker since stagger is soo useful vs bots, gives you that opening to shoot them. But so many anti bot weapons got thier stagger removed, amr, railgun etc. Anyways i feel like if their fire rate was slowed down i feel like that would remedy so many things. Since that would make a group of 6 upgraded devs easier to work with, whether ur behind cover or not

    These issues with cover and open areas could be mitigated if the shield generator wasn't so useless. It doesn't last long enough to be meaningful.

    I'd like my character to not stand up in the middle of enemy fire when I'm ragdolled in prone

    If the new warbond doesn't actually contain related resistances, it'd be huge missed opportunity and it would make me very angry.

    I wonder if they’re ever going to patch the bug that sends your camera into the sky if you get hit with ragdolling while diving during first person aim. I put a 15 second clip on my page if you need an example, but as an explosive weapons enthusiast this happens at least once a session every time I play. This can happen from your own explosives or enemy’s, so you’re not safe just picking bugs.

    I personally love fighting the bots, it is way more strategic than bugs, but I do agree that Rocket and Heavy Devastators need a touch up. Make Rocket Devs have limited ammo, I mean look at their pack, there's only 12 missiles. Make them fire 2 per salvo instead of 3, one from each shoulder, maybe buff the damage/explosion radius a bit, but they run out after their 6 salvos.
    Heavy Devs, make their minigun overheat, it's a laser weapon, it HAS to overheat, like our energy--based weapons. Make it so after X seconds, the gun need to cool down for X seconds, giving the player some time to counter during that cooldown.
    Gunships need a limited amount of rockets also, coz currently they just fire rockets then lasers then rockets every few seconds and it can become impossible to stand up, especially since they perfectly predict your trajectory with leading their shots.
