Give NFL Films credit, they did the best they could do putting a positive spin on the Oilers blowing a 32-point lead when chronicling the playoff game against the Bills.
This Oilers team was so heart broken becoming the greatest collapse in NFL playoffs history. So many sleepless nights 7 years to the playoffs and losing to John Elway, Joe Montana, Jim Kelly team, Steelers, ... Texans suck never became a fan and Watson is gone.
@@drvn8 - looked it up and weirdest him thing: he pronounces it like “Jeffries” despite the spelling. I’m really glad I didn’t notice the spelling as a kid, or the disconnect between that and the pronunciation would’ve driven me wild.
As a former Nashville Native, I want to apologize to the Houston Oilers fans. I was not in favor of getting the Oilers. I was a Warren Moon and Luv Ya Blue fan. If Nashville wanted a team, they should have gotten an expansion version. May the now Tennessee Titans forever be cursed with Zero Super Bowls.
I love the Oilers uniforms. But it is strange to have the throwback uniforms in Tennessee. Those people have no history with that uniform or its tradition.
He was 85-62 from 1987-1997 as a starter, which excludes the first 3 years he played and his last year. Not that your stats nor mine paint much of a picture of an actual team and how a team gets its wins and losses.
@@supermoneyball420 No. Not at all. I just find it interesting. Win-loss stats are not exactly apples-to-apples when comparing QBs. But they provide a bit of insight in some cases.
This team could easily have beaten the Steelers and Dolphins too had they held on against the Bills. In fact, the Steelers were an inferior team who had beaten the Oilers twice while Miami also beat Houston in a close one. Oilers were not likely to lose again to either of these teams. I still don’t think they could have beaten my Dallas Cowboys in the Super Bowl but probably not 52-17; much closer game. Oilers were much better than a 10-6 team but could not close out close games; the playoff game a perfect example.
It must of been a great for Oilers fans to watch Moon pass all over the field. His passes were so pretty to watch. I imagine live was even better.
LOVED my OILERS. I'm a do or die fan no matter what.
They were the greatest team. It had amazing players. I miss NFL from this era.
The run and shoot offense is the best ever in football.

I remember this game 😮
"Time and chance" is how they spun it. Choke job is what happened.

Easy for you to say.
What a great team.
This was the best year in Houston football to date!
No, Drew Hill Wasn't There...
Until they suffered that monumental 35-3 collapse which spelt the beginning of the end for them.
Bud Adams was a POS though anyway
Ain't dey get Slaughter midseason?? He was raw
Dishman n McDowell was saucy as well
Bring back the red, white and blue! America's team. 🏈 🇺🇲
I know, I miss this team.
The Dallas Cowboys 🤠 America’s team 🇺🇸
Past

Future
This team was soo loaded, on both ends
Oilers did have a really good defense. They could get interceptions alot.
🎉🎉 Thank God 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 For The Houston Oilers
I had a Ray Childress n a Pinkett football card. I used ta play fantasy football wit my cards!!
7:00 - RIP to Jeff Alm.
Lorenzo n Pickett was dope
Gary Brown when he came too.
Run an shoot! Loved it! Was like DAN FOUTS AN AIR CORYELLS CHARGERS!

A new QB has made you forget Watson ever existed.

Some of the TD's vs Buffalo should have been called back because of the fact that the WR was out of bounds.
The 93 team was way better, but ran into Joe Montana and Derrick Thomas in a monumental upset at the Astrodome
Hall Of Famer Warren Moon #1
Bruce Matthews as well
RUN and SHOOT
It did worked in some games.
Thanks for the Upload of a Team that should have won but didn't Still a fan though
I used ta love Ernst Givens E Slide n Haywood plus Duncan!! If dey only had a Defense
They had a good defense... but they werent disciplined when it mattered most...
Bruce Matthews son in Atlanta looks just as good as his father on that offensive line maybe another Hall of Famer
What a title
I used ta hate how Moon used ta get flashed on n da last minutes vs Montana n Elway n Buffalo fa dat matter
Isn’t Haywood’s last name JEFF-ires rather than JEFF-ries?
Yes

@@MatthewChristianMurray yeah and actually they spelled it "Jeffries" on Tecmo Super Bowl
@@drvn8 He was the only WR with size on the Oilers
He was the best one, out of all the oilers WRs.
Best offense ta never win a Super Bowl!! Past 84 Miami 98 Vikings 2001 Rams 07 Patriots!!

How The coach , tell the QB ( Warren Moon) to not rely on his arm so much 🤣🤣🤣 Wtff

That’d be fun af
When Warren Moon missed a game, his team was 26-13 without him in his career. When he started, he was 102-101.

Fouts was 86-84 no SB appearances either, Stan Humphries took them to a Super Bowl and went 50-31 on his career, do you think he was a better QB 💀

Al del greco..was ass cheeks in crunch time
I bet Kelly would not lead dat comeback!!
Was Eddie Robinson da don of HOFer??
I a bet all my future yadadimeans dat Texans will never b as good as Oilers/Titans
Only way is if the Texans can get the Oilers brand back. It's so much history in that name for the city of Houston. I'm saying that as a Houstonian.
Wow how small does da Astrodome look now?? Like a cookie cutter next ta Reliant.
