  • Where are the Best hot springs in Idaho?
    Here's the blog post with the full itinerary: www.bemytravelmuse.com/idaho-...
    I went on a little road trip last week to find the best of the best hot springs in Idaho, beginning in Boise. The objective was simple: Soak is as many beautiful places as possible and find the best ones. It was a smashing success. Here's where we went:
    Idaho City Hot Springs: A nice big pool, private jacuzzis, and even a steam bath. This one isn't a natural one and you do have to pay to use it but it's a nice stop between Boise and Stanley.
    Kirkham Hot Springs: A popular one in Idaho, it's pretty nice in the winter months when there are fewer people around. This hot spring features waterfalls and a bunch of different pools and best of all, it's nice and HOT.
    Mountain Village Resort Hot Springs: The first stop in Stanley, Mountain Village has its own little barn hot spring that you can use when you stay at the hotel.
    Boat/Boater Box hot springs: This little tub on the river is adorable and a nice little place to soak.
    Sunbeam hot springs: My personal favorite, this hot spring is so nice and hot and it's also the only one I had all to myself! It's just 10 minutes down the road from Boater box.
    Goldbug Hot Spring: Idaho's most famous but for good reason. This one requires a 2-mile hike in and you get rewarded with hot springs of various temperatures and an incredible view.
    For more hot springs that weren't featured in this video along with a map and suggestions on where to stay, read the blog post: www.bemytravelmuse.com/idaho-...

    Our last family trip began at Hot Creek Canyon on 1972, when you could spend all night in the Hot Springs. I was 12, so I got out about 1:00. In that canyon by moonlight, it’s hard to describe. It rumbled, the water tumbled, it was pure magic.

    Yeah Stanley is frequently the coldest town in the US with many days in the negatives. Fun tour of Idaho hot springs! I’ve been to most of those but not to goldbug. Idaho is rich is geothermal activity so there are a lot of them to explore.

    I've found that trails to hot springs are packed down, so snowshoes aren't required. But traction (yaktrax, microspikes, etc.) are highly recommended. There are more springs which don't see much action and can be clothing optional. Thus a solution to the wet bathing suit conundrum.

      @@Bemytravelmuse i went there when the air temp was 100+ degrees for my first time and it was awesome.
      The cold stream along the hike provided a great way to stay cool when getting up there, the 75 degree small pools with the waterfalls below the hot pools were an amazing place to relax while the sun went down and I could get into the warmer pools.
      I never would have thought id go to a hot spring to cool off. :)

    You should check out Vulcan hot spring next time near Cascade. Its hard to find the trail off the forest road, but its only about half a mile long. Its too bad Molly's tubs near there got taken out.

    In your opinion... what natural hot spring (not in jacuzzi) in the Idaho area was easy to get to (no hiking). My friend and I want to go there but are not used to hiking/ would prefer not to have to go far from the car lol. & this is how these places get exploited & no longer clean & sacred. The reason why you got mixed signals from Idaho City is they don't want this to get out to the world. Now I know why I'm picking up more trash. Videos like this have thousands of views. Bringing anyone and everyone over. Wish this stayed in books and not a Google search.

    • @Bemytravelmuse
      @Bemytravelmuse  3 года назад +3

      I hear you, and it's tricky, but nature is for everyone and I'm sharing springs in state parks, none of which are necessarily a secret. When I find one that's truly wild and in the middle of nowhere, I don't share.
      The world population has exploded since we were younger and all these natural places were secret, but people have kids, towns and cities grow, and information is more readily shared, whether by me or any source, and I do my best to educate people to leave no trace in what I share, so I stand by it.

    • @kevinbuda7087
      @kevinbuda7087 3 года назад

      Well I hear you garren....everybody has a camera these days and a need to share. Though I could do it I just don't. That's where "sacred" comes in. The old days before smart phones were so much better.
