AMEN!!! My Favorite Song by Betty Jean Robinson!! It's been over 25yrs since I heard this song and AMEN I still remembered the words. My mother used to sing this song in church, tent revivals, restivales, everywhere the Lord took her she sang this song.. Thank You Jesus!!
I love this woman she is a wonderful singer for our savior Jesus Christ I'm so blessed having her book upon Melody Mountain I know she's at rest now but she will rise out of sleep when that trumpet sounds
That was my Mother s favorite Gospel song. She love to sang and she had many Gospel books. Every time something would happen in our family, whether good or bad, we would sing. Mother has done gone home to be with her sweet Jesus and the memories will always be with us. Thank you Lord God Almighty.
I’m black, from Detroit & my family LOVED Betty Jean! Back in the 90s we lived in Atlanta and me and my dad went to the TBN studios there to try to get into the audience during Telethon. I was 8 years old and wanted to see her sing this song live! But The line was too long and after standing outside for awhile, we decided to go home. We got home and my mom informed me that we had missed it, Betty Jean had sang this song! LOL
She has another great song called right out your storms that is one great song that everybody needs to listen to I love visiting Robinson I know her sister I used to go to her church her sister is a preacher.
I remember listening to her back when I was a kid and I listen to her album on tape so much I memorized the whole thing and even though it's been some years I can still do it i want to get the albums again on cd and blast them while driving down the road and have a ball like i used to
Ain't No Grave (also known as Gonna Hold This Body Down) is a traditional American gospel song attributed to Claude Ely (1922-1978) of Virginia. Claude Ely, a songwriter and preacher from Virginia, describes composing the song while sick with tuberculosis in 1934 when he was twelve years old. His family prayed for his health, and in response he spontaneously performed this song. Originally recorded by Bozie Sturdivant in July 1942 (and released in 1943 as "Ain't No Grave Can Hold My Body Down") in a slower, African American gospel style and in 1946-7 by Sister Rosetta Tharpe with barrelhouse piano;[1] the song in Ely's version was recorded (and copyrighted) in 1953, even though he wrote it as early as 1935.[2] Go to en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ain%27t_No_Grave to read more about the song
