Then I simply searched "TotK Shrine Names" in Japanese and found someone had already made the connection, which led to that map! A lot of things don't make it outside the Japanese fan sphere…
When taking a picture, you can press a to capture. You can also press R or ZR which is a cool Easter egg from the beginning of the game where when Zelda takes a picture with the right trigger of the purah pad
Oh wow, I didn't know the Hyrule / Kyoto connection. I'd always been curious about how they came up with the shrine names, since they seemed to have a certain "rule" to them but I couldn't figure out what. Them being anagrams of Japanese place names fits perfectly!
They rearranged the actual place to a new name (I think it is based on how to pronounce it in Japanese) Ex. 山ノ内駅 ( Yama no uchi Station) 山ノ内駅 (ヤマノウチ) -> マヤチノウの祠 (Maya chi no u Shrine) マヤチノウ -> ウノチヤマの根 (U no chi yama Light Root) 清水寺 ( Kiyo mizu Temple) 清水寺 (キヨミズ)-> ヨミズキの祠 (Yo mizu ki Shrine) ヨミズキ -> キズミヨの根 (Kizu miyo Light Root) This pattern is easy to do in Japanese but it is hard to see a clear pattern in English)
@@sanemero3940anagrams are words that have letters rearranged. Like how "coast" can become "coats" because the s and the t are moved around. The lightroot names are just reversed versions of the shrine names. "Coats" becomes "staoc"

In OoT's time, when that new Ganondorf is abandoned by his mother, Twinrova take him in and raise him to be the king of the Gerudo to recreate a new Demon King and make history repeat, fulfilling the original Ganondorf's vision and ambition.

here's a funny fact I know. In TOTK the Lynne's fireballs are perfectly timed so that link just barely takes his shield back up after not parrying one and it basically looks like link just bonks backwards on the fireball
I knew about the shrines and light roots being backwards of each other, but it's really neat that they're based on RL locations in Kyoto but anagram'd! That map is really interesting and cool to see. It explains why so many of the shrine names in English end in "k", because the English version chops off the last syllable for some reason (ie "ka", "ku", "ki" all become just "k"). Now I'm a little curious about the shrine and light root names in other languages... I'm guessing in Japanese the light roots have the kana of the shrines reversed, but what about like Chinese, or Korean, or Russian, for example?
Every language just reverses whatever characters are in the name of the shrine, and it's clear they created the shrine names based on Japanese and went from there. While English remained pretty faithful aside from excluding some ending vowels, others like Spanish and French did the same thing as the monks in BotW where they spell them in weird ways, e.g. in French Kyononis (JP Kyononishiu) is "Sanctuaire Qyono Nisiü". French also consistently keeps the diaeresis on the second vowel, so the lightroot is "Racine Uïsin Onoyq". So yeah, since Japanese uses kana it's a bit different than in other languages (well, similar situation for hanzi and hangul). The only differences I noticed are that Japanese excludes syllabic n ン if it's at the end of a shrine (and thus would be at the beginning of a lightroot), and a couple errors: Dutch has an error where Jiosin Shrine has Oinisoij as its lightroot since they accidentally reversed a transcription of the entire Japanese name, Jioshinio. French accidentally reversed the entire name of Morok Shrine, "Sanctuaire Mo Lonqu", into "Racine Uqnol Omeriautcnas" (including "sanctuaire" which means shrine). It’s a bit funny.
5:37 for the froggy set wet duration up does this also include zora weapons If so then that is the ideal set for them as it keeps the properties for longer

The different reactions of NPCs was nice in Botw, but here they went several extra miles ahead, not just with all the stuff you can bring to them via fuse, but with the crazy zonaite devices as well. And then they went for the FINAL mile with the flower lady having TWO very specific reactions.... to the same thing!
There's a destroyed Yiga fort in the depths under kolomo garrison. It's not explicitly stated what happened, but a trail of debris and broken ground from the fort leads to the four suspects: A frox, a stone talus, a monster camp, and a battle talus
Noice, today I was thinking "and that channel with more facts about I don't know"? 😂 The froggy and windcleaver (ok, eight-I-dont- care) I discovered trying new things - froggy + water (Sidon or chuchu orb) + atk lv 3 + Mipha lance = pure joy!

I love this video series, keep it up.
this videos make me appreciate zelda games soo much more.
4:29 another detail they carried over from age of calamity is Impa’s fear of heights!
here's a funny fact I know. In TOTK the Lynne's fireballs are perfectly timed so that link just barely takes his shield back up after not parrying one and it basically looks like link just bonks backwards on the fireball
I needed that muddlebud fusion trick! Thanks!
9:11 wow! This was a really exciting thing I didn’t know! Love these videos!
👍🏻🇸🇪
I like these vids because they’re not just pointing out completely obvious things
5:37 for the froggy set wet duration up does this also include zora weapons
If so then that is the ideal set for them as it keeps the properties for longer
Yet again, the details are absolutely stunning
It is kind of funny to imagine that Ganondorf has a soft spot for his family.
Yes new Gamespot Video about TotK!
5:18 I think it's because, if you look closely, you can actually see that Link's feet sticks out from the sandal
My favorite thing I discovered early on in my playthrough is the fact that when you open and close the Purah Pad, it's the sound of the Donkey Kong 1986 Arcade tune when you reach the end of the level.
The twin witches and demon Ganondorf’s horse indicate that there was so much content cut from the game. We can only hope for a DLC.
Fact 2 is really helpful if you want to farm Fire and Ice Lizalfos Horns + Tails
Yeah. It’s also cool that they finally have one place where you can encounter a monster of every elemental variant.
The level of detail in this game is just mind blowing at times
Hold up! That Kotake and Koume bit was a better did you know than almost the whole series combined, and the series is awesome!! My mind is blown that they included them in the game like that!!
This is really fun to watch, i enjoyed it so much, makes me awe!
I think i noticed that when you fight gloom hands, other enemies despawn. I saw it in the crenel hills
That water fall ice block stream looked like an Aura Thunder Attack!!
The goron in goron city that sells diamonds will have a different line of dialogue depending if you are standing on the table
A few NPC's do this. When the two people meet for lunch in kakariko. If you stand on the table when the are both sitting they have different dialog.
2:30 I knew this 1 and was so confused why my map showed I was in the depths
Here's a fact I found.
When Link wears a monster mask, the mask (or Link) makes the noise that said monster usually makes.
There's a destroyed Yiga fort in the depths under kolomo garrison. It's not explicitly stated what happened, but a trail of debris and broken ground from the fort leads to the four suspects: A frox, a stone talus, a monster camp, and a battle talus
That tip about the spring shield was S teir!! I didn't know that it could be used to send the Glee lock flame back 😂
Fun fact: when you open your Zoom-lense, while paragliding, time slows down.(I dont know if this was the case in Botw)
tbh, when i first saw the title i was doubtful since i have have 500+ hours on this game and you somehow still shocked me.
I wonder if anything happens to a Gleeok projectile if you parry it with a shield that has been fused to an elemental talus heart
While using the master sword with the champions tunic the more health you have the further the beam goes
Noice, today I was thinking "and that channel with more facts about I don't know"? 😂
The froggy and windcleaver (ok, eight-I-dont- care) I discovered trying new things - froggy + water (Sidon or chuchu orb) + atk lv 3 + Mipha lance = pure joy!
That 8 fold blade stuff is gold. Definitely gonna attach a muddle bud
Insane amount of cool details I love it
i just noticed, when wizzrobes are invivible, they still have shadows!
Ι don't know if you have covered this yet but im pretty sure brighbloom seeds won't disappear and the max x amount of them will actually stay where you threw them at, unlike items or devices that despawn. I stopped using them a lot while finding the last light roots and I was surprised to see some of them in the desert deapths that i threw a week ago.
Of course for science i drew male genethlia out of them probably 2 weeks ago and yes they are still there next to the three ghosts rock in the depths
That’s 🔥 I never knew 1:51
