Well, 580 is still great with titles that run well on PS4. Considering that this game struggles with PS5 (barely getting 30 FPS ) , 580 is only usable with FSR.
AMD has released the lastest update for the 400/500 series not a long ago, so your graphic is obsolete, well done in choosing an RX 6600 but if you could go for the RX 6600 XT, it would be awesome, it's not that much more expensive it's like 30 bucks more expensive and it's faster but if the RX 6600 is more than enough for you, then be happy with the RX 6600.
@@tamaalit4913 It is not obsolete because of the driver 😁Even drivers released few years ago for 580 work fine. It is somewhat obsolete because it simply does not have enough processing power, although it will be usable for few more years while PS5 era lasts.

Not really. This is just a very demanding game. Most games out there work just fine on this GPU, granted you have the 8GB model.

I’m curious as to what’s causing the gpus low utilisation in sone areas of this game🤔. Maybe it’s something to do with driver overhead with older architectures such as we’ve seen with the GTX1060 and Rx580 gpus🤔?
I think the 7000 Series AMD GPUs utilize the AI Accelerators to enhance FSR. I could be wrong, but I never notice the shimmering you always mention.

On a 24inch 1080p monitor fsr 3 quality with fg looks quite good in this game
I tried that frame generation edit with my 1080ti, and it worked really well, ecept i had a couple of crashes after doing it, so i turned it back off.

I OC my rx 580 with boost and any other game instead of that one runs smoothly maybe not all in high or ultra but its still kicking 😊
Hey Kryzzp do some of the main missions and go to the upper plains area of the map, you will be blown away and the perfromance hehe.
I don't think it supports Rabar or Sam, that is also GDDR5 so the outcome is pretty good really for its age, if the driver still offers Crossfire the RX 580 scales well.

FSR actually saves these older GPUs (580, 1060 ...) until the end of PS5 era. Games still has to run on this console (which has GPU similar to 5700XT) , and 580 has roughly 60% of PS5 TFLOPS. Thus, 580 would soldier on for few more years.
@@aleksazunjic9672 PS5 hardware is more like an RX 6700 12Gb paired with a R7 4700S. It uses GDDR6 Vram as actual RAM, and it doesn't run with a system full of generic drivers and processes, so in theory it should be much more efficient and optimized than the same hardware on the PC. However, it's actually not.

It would not. Drivers for 580 are nearly perfectly optimized. It is the problem of this game, which was rushed into sale before Christmas. In a few months they will patch some things, so you will get 99% GPU utilization and few FPS more.

Newer games are becoming increasingly harder to run on older GPU architectures, even if they have plenty of power to run said game. I guess it's planned obsolescence at work.

The Finals is actually super well optimized for a UE5 game, but it’s still a UE5 game. It’s probably time for anyone with a Pascal or Vega card or older to consider upgrading.
Acredito que a única coisa diferente entre essa tua 580 XXX e a que eu tive, foi um biosmod instalado pelo antigo dono. Estava a 100% de GPU em muitos jogos, ao custo de 150-160w e 75-85ºc, mas em alguns mais novos, de 85 a 100% não havia qualquer ganho de performance (testei com limite de energia menor que forçava menor utilização). No Cyberpunk a partir da versão 1.5 rodava a 100% todo tempo em 1440p, até mesmo quando não deveria estar, pois aparentemente a bios forçava isto. Agora, um jogo novo desse rodar a mais de 70fps numa 580, ainda que no low...krl rapeize, plaquinha imortal.O sujeito me vendeu a placa pela metade do preço que valia na época, pois a mesma não era eficiente para mineração em 2020, sendo que consumia até 180w e gastava mais na conta de energia do que gerava de lucro.

Driver support is not dead, you would simply use old drivers which are well optimized anyway .
Its same performance that you get when you play FC primal at ultra during evening time in game

GTA 6 will release in 2025 on console(ps5 and xbox series x|s) but we don't know when it will release on PCs, maybe 2027 or 2028 and no your GTX 1660 Ti will be too slow I think.

Yes, the lower GPU usage is the result of the discontinued driver support. There is no way in hell that an Ryzen 3600x/I5 13600k is too slow for a RX 580 lol.
Similar things also happened to other GPU's in the past, in this respect it's really nothing unusual.
From now on you have to be prepared for the fact that low GPU usage will be normal in newer games.
If I remember correctly, there was already a similar problem with "The Last of Us" where the RX 580 also had these usage fluctuations.
(and at that time the GPU was still officially supported)
i'm curious if custom drivers like nimez can fix the fluctuating gpu usage.

It's great that Avatar can run on a RX58O, seems like a few drivers updates will solve the fluctuations in the gpu usage figures hopefully AMD will get this solved, great video once again.

Unfortunately RX400-500 series cards were too good for too long. AMD wants you to buy their newer stuff so they will not make any driver optimizations for Polaris any further.
It has nothing to do with drivers. Game is simply released unoptimized before Christmas to get some early sales. Few months from now and you will get full GPU utilization with few FPS more.

I would take something that gets around 45fps on medium-high or even low settings on the games I like like gta, rdr2 and stuff I don't give a crap about graphics I just want to have fun
With the 580 it's not a complete disaster. It runs quite well with FSR and FG but the VRAM is almost full and at the lowest settings. 😮

Maybe the gpu vram? Its almost maxed out and gpus dont like when the vram buffer is full that or the drivers.

Anything that support raytracing is good in long run, but also you need vram, something like rx7800xt might be good, or arc a770 for more budget

Thats wired the RX 580 has approx the same performance as a RX 5500XT 8gb but this card perform a lot better than the rx580
RX 580 -- > Low, FG, FSR Quality --> approx 60-80 fps
RX 5500XT --> Low, FG, FSR Quality --> 70- 110 FPS
RX 5500XT --> High, FG, FSR Quality --> 42 - 75 FPS AVG 62
Drivers and optimizations in newer games will take advantage of newer GPUs a lot more.
That's why an RTX 3050 performed like a 1070 at release and now it's the same as a 1080

I don't know about a 580 but frame generation is locked out with a 7900XTX as well, until you disable Afterburner. Then you can enable it again and it works. To revert repeat the process.
They make a so demanding game and they still can't make the water look realistic...

I think the low GPU usage is because when you use FG, it utilizes the Asynchronous Compute engines or whatever its called and it somewhat adds to the overall GPU usage, ive seen it in red dead redemption 2 if i turn on Asynchronous compute via the config file, GPU hovers to 90-95% on GPU intensive areas, but when i turn it off, GPU can reach 100% usage, on polaris GPUs at least.
You left it on fsr quality the first time. When you went back at lowest with fsr and fg, it was ultra quality. You did get a jump in performance and didn't realize it.
The tearing is because of your capture card right and not the card
All cards have tearing if you're not running vsync or have an adaptive sync display. Most monitors have it, my capture card gets rekt if I enable it so I record with it off
