The UAVs in other Ace Combats weren't that bad in terms of impossible physics. Remember that the weakest link in the modern Fighter Aircraft is the squishy pilot inside. Most Airframes can tolerate 2-4x the G-Load of even a G-Suit fitted pilot.
Part of what got me so excited when i watched the first trailer was that they aren't shying away from the campiness of the story and dialogue, anything else wouldn't feel right!
Missile mechanics have been improved, clouds are actually relevant, the soundtrack is marvelous, the AI is smarter (the drones sacrifice themselves to protect the Arsenal Bird, the enemies behave more intelligently in general)... what's not to love here?
Alejandini wasn't Ace Combat Infinity back in its old roots? I haven't played that one but l heard that fans loved it because they got rid of DFM and all thag Assualt Horizon stuff

Infinity wasn't that bad, but Assault Horizon was shit. If nothing else, Ace Combat Infinity will keep me entertained until Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is released, but that's a lot more than I can say for Assault Horizon.
That's why I complete challenges to get stocked fuel, which allows me to keep playing. I also tend to horde stocked fuel and use it either when I actually have the time to sit down and play for a long time, or during the end of a tournament.

Wow this game looks amazing, back to the original formula of Ace Combat with StrangeReal, amazing graphics and OST, and the original gameplay formula. The new mechanics like icing up and clouds obscuring targets look like they'll be super interesting. I can't wait, I really hope this game does well and the series can keep continuing for another 20 years.

Saw this demo and thought this game was gonna be amazing. I have the game now after almost 3 straight years of playing and it’s still amazing. Thanks to Project Aces for bringing back a lot of nostalgia

ACX is considered by some to be on the level of the PS2 trilogy (referred to ACX as "lost PS2 trilogy game"), I myself started with X and still play it to this day!
If I wanted to spend 4hours flying to a target only for the mission to be scrubbed because of bad weather, I'll go for a flight sim. When I want to have a blast with melodramatic Japenese camp while shooting dozens of missiles and pulling G's that can liquify titanium, i'll go for Ace Combat. (Except Assault Horizons, which is gay, but like, old gay, not gay as in gay people because if you're gay, that's fine, but Assault Horizons is gay even to you)

My first ace combat. Took me forever to get anywhere in it as a kid. Played 6 recently. Wasn't impressed with the dogfight mode and the fact that you barely control the plane at all. Good to see this looks like a better version of the one I played as a kid

I see that a lot of people doesn't get that "unrealistic" doesn't mean "easy". This is only a demo, and on the most easy difficulty for sure. Of course, DCS is a good game, but this game right here is not inferior ONLY beacuse it's arcade. Ace Combat is a GAME, not a simulator. It can be a real challenge, while providing one of the best OST out there and a really good story. I'm not saying DCS (or other simulators) is bad, but saying this game is stupid only because it is arcade doesn't make sense. I really want to see these "simulators' scumbags" try to defeat bosses like Pasternak (or others that i won't say here) on "Ace" difficulty. Then they will be able to talk

Not old enough to have played it when it was first out, but I did see it in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. John Connor was playing it as well as Missile Command before that. I actually played that one.
Zachary Damascus 4 and zero had the best fights... 5 had you stuntin major... 6 used all of its resources on the background, it looked great but the game play was ass.
Joshua Valentine Yeah I didn't like 5 much at all honestly, for several reasons. The overall story was cool but the execution felt way off (didn't help that I found both Chopper and Archer to be really annoying and Thunderhead to be utterly insufferable). Also the enemy AI was absolute ass. Luckily Zero was, for me, the perfect Ace Combat experience. I've never found a single aircraft in any AC game that I've liked better than the Soldier Terminator in Zero. If something in 7 manages to compare to that for me, then I'll surely love it. Starting aircraft F-14 is a great sign to me since I have been a massive Tomcat fanboy ever since I was a kid lol
It had potential though, and if Assault Horizon 2 ever comes out it should be heavily refined. Stop forcing it everywhere, not making enemies immortal during it and so on...
These people are right. If you get the chance to play one, like Shattered Skies(AC4) for instance, it really satisfies the modern air combat urge like no other game or game series. It's an extremely underrated series of games so I'm excited to see if this new one will make it to the masses.
Tapping triangle switches targets so you can lock on to others that you may want to concentrate on. Holding triangle is for looking directly at the target you have selected when they aren't directly ahead of you. This allows you to better predict enemy maneuvers and intercept them faster.
I hope they bring back the paint customization. Probably the best thing Assault Horizon did was letting you customize the color. I saw a matte black F-22 at an airshow when I was a kid. I instantly fell in love with it.
xXTheAcePilotXx yeah the EML literally got me through the entire campaign on Ace difficulty faster than I got through just 'The Liberation of Gracemaria' on Normal lol. Pasternak was incredibly annoying to beat the first time. Still gives me nightmares lol

Ace combat should've been stayed like this forever. Even though it looks generic like its predecessors, but that's the entity Ace Combat would and should hold on to. That's what makes AC different from any flying arcade shooter game. And I definitely love it.

Christopher0184 cockpit view is the only way to go...judging when to fire, lining up the gun pipper, "head movement", you're much more alert and aware. And to me its just much easier.

You deal with those Erusians" lol although this game does take place in 2019... not too long after AC4 (2004-05) if he didn't retire, Mobius 1's prob still serving higher up in the ranks. Heck, even Cipher's prob still around and he's from the 90's.
Nothing makes you more sweaty than that missile alert with more than half damage. I love situations like that towards the end where you have to cover a tactical retreat. I'm all like "Wilco!! I'm engaging the enemy"
So the Erusians from _Ace Combat 4_ are locking horns with the Oseans from _5_ ? If there's a dogfight between Yellow Squadron and the Razgriz in this game, I'm going to have to change my pants. God I love the fine details they’ve added to this new engine! Condensation and rain on the canopy, the ability for your canopy to ice up, this looks absolutely breathtaking, seeing s franchise I’ve known for years brought into the current generation of gaming.

Foxtrot 117 Battlefield games use the Frostbite engine I believe. Still this game looks impressive. But personally Im not the biggest fan of the artstyle in the cutscenes. Its hard to explain, its like a cross between anime and a Pixar film. AC5 and 6 had this, for example.

My first ace combat. Took me forever to get anywhere in it as a kid. Played 6 recently. Wasn't impressed with the dogfight mode and the fact that you barely control the plane at all. Good to see this looks like a better version of the one I played as a kid

I see that a lot of people doesn't get that "unrealistic" doesn't mean "easy". This is only a demo, and on the most easy difficulty for sure. Of course, DCS is a good game, but this game right here is not inferior ONLY beacuse it's arcade. Ace Combat is a GAME, not a simulator. It can be a real challenge, while providing one of the best OST out there and a really good story. I'm not saying DCS (or other simulators) is bad, but saying this game is stupid only because it is arcade doesn't make sense. I really want to see these "simulators' scumbags" try to defeat bosses like Pasternak (or others that i won't say here) on "Ace" difficulty. Then they will be able to talk

Not old enough to have played it when it was first out, but I did see it in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. John Connor was playing it as well as Missile Command before that. I actually played that one.

Ace Combat 6 wasn't PS2 generation, guess you have one to play before this releases.
I did play it. Preferred the feel of the PS2 games, especially Zero. Maybe I'm weird, but for me some of the magic was lost in 6.
Zachary Damascus 4 and zero had the best fights... 5 had you stuntin major... 6 used all of its resources on the background, it looked great but the game play was ass.

Joshua Valentine Yeah I didn't like 5 much at all honestly, for several reasons. The overall story was cool but the execution felt way off (didn't help that I found both Chopper and Archer to be really annoying and Thunderhead to be utterly insufferable). Also the enemy AI was absolute ass. Luckily Zero was, for me, the perfect Ace Combat experience.
I've never found a single aircraft in any AC game that I've liked better than the Soldier Terminator in Zero. If something in 7 manages to compare to that for me, then I'll surely love it. Starting aircraft F-14 is a great sign to me since I have been a massive Tomcat fanboy ever since I was a kid lol

These people are right. If you get the chance to play one, like Shattered Skies(AC4) for instance, it really satisfies the modern air combat urge like no other game or game series. It's an extremely underrated series of games so I'm excited to see if this new one will make it to the masses.

Holding triangle is for looking directly at the target you have selected when they aren't directly ahead of you. This allows you to better predict enemy maneuvers and intercept them faster.

I hope they bring back the paint customization. Probably the best thing Assault Horizon did was letting you customize the color. I saw a matte black F-22 at an airshow when I was a kid. I instantly fell in love with it.

Ace combat should've been stayed like this forever. Even though it looks generic like its predecessors, but that's the entity Ace Combat would and should hold on to. That's what makes AC different from any flying arcade shooter game. And I definitely love it.

Christopher0184 cockpit view is the only way to go...judging when to fire, lining up the gun pipper, "head movement", you're much more alert and aware. And to me its just much easier.

although this game does take place in 2019... not too long after AC4 (2004-05) if he didn't retire, Mobius 1's prob still serving higher up in the ranks. Heck, even Cipher's prob still around and he's from the 90's.

God I love the fine details they’ve added to this new engine! Condensation and rain on the canopy, the ability for your canopy to ice up, this looks absolutely breathtaking, seeing s franchise I’ve known for years brought into the current generation of gaming.

Foxtrot 117 Battlefield games use the Frostbite engine I believe. Still this game looks impressive. But personally Im not the biggest fan of the artstyle in the cutscenes. Its hard to explain, its like a cross between anime and a Pixar film. AC5 and 6 had this, for example.
