Thank you so much for the shoutout!! 🤩 I saw you gave this book 5 stars and I got comfy on my chair to see what is it about and then I saw the shoutout and I almost fell down from the chair from surprise! 😅😱
I did not know that the author was in an arranged marriage. I agree with you about the too many characters. I think learning more about the brother with the more liberal wife would have been interesting, and learning more about the husbands (both the older one and the main husband, I can’t remember their names now) I think their characters could have been more developed so that we could maybe understand why they behaved the way they did. Or maybe that was the point? To tell the story only from a woman’s perspective. Good review Tatiana!
omg yes! even though we said there were too many characters, it would be great to have one of the perspectives from the liberal wife's. yea the husband's werent as fully developed but i think you're right in thats the point as the story is a multi generational story of the women's.
This is such a great review! I recently bought the ebook of this which was on sale as a Kindle deal. You have made me want to read this even more! Have you ever read Enrique's Journey, by Sonia Nazario? It was published in the early 2000s, and follows the true story of a teenage boy's journey on his (several) attempts at migrating from Central America to the U.S. It is heartbreaking and amazing the fortitude that he had. I think you would be interested in it!
thank you for the recommendation. i have yet discover any stories about central america experiences so i'm looking forward to reading enrique's journey!
