Still such a shame that Wednesday got left out of production while Pugsly got released, someone out there needs to start making customs of the missing Addams family members!
yeah i guess puglsey got a toy as girl figures don't sell too well. Of course nowadays it would probably be the other way around with wendsday being popular.
Those Addams Family figures brought back some memories. I had Lurch and Uncle Fester. On another note, I’d love to see what ever happened to the unreleased waves of Resaurus toys. I loved their stuff as a kid, but they just faded away.
Love the Sky Commanders so much when I was 10 years old. Still love seeing anything pop up about them on my feed. And I have never heard about the dropped 2nd line!! Thanks for giving this to me 38 years later - made my day!
Another amazing video Ed. Thank you. Your effort and dedication is second to none but would be nothing without your extensive knowledge. Thank you again you legend
Man I missed your history RUclips just isn't the same without it. Shout-out to your fellow attic invaders Narc because his video yesterday, lol 😂 he was wearing a toy history shirt just for you.
Left a comment on Narc page telling him to send you a retro freaks shirt and a Narc shirt and if he has any an attic invaders one. You can always use more shirts for videos, it never hurts.
i *REALLY* Wish someone would take the Prototypes for these Tribes figures and Remake them for the Modern Market! i would buy *EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! THEY ARE SO COOL!!!*
I hate it when companies don't release full families in the first wave... I held off on the Addams toyline BECAUSE of this. Recently this happened again when Mego released Marries with Children figures. We got Al, Peg, and Kelly....but no Bud. So the family will never be complete.
I was a HUGE Addams Family fan as a kid, and desperately waited for the Wednesday to come out....it never happened. But I did still get all the others and the Pugsley's scavenger hunt game for super nes
I love Sky Commanders. They even did a cartoon, I have the DVD. You should do an episode on it! I just wish the Sky Commanders were more like GI Joe in quality.
Been wondering about Wednesday since I started looking on Ebay for a figure of her from the Addams cartoon line. It's really strange since Morticia got a figure but not her, which puts a stop to that "it's toys and boys only want male figures" theory. But seriously they chose Pugsly over Wednesday?? This was when the movies were popular and everyone and their grandma knew that Wednesday was their favorite kid from the movies! Even in the cartoon Pugs was just forgettable while Wednesday had her charm as always.
Such an underrated toy line. The Seaduck and the air pirate fighter were amazing. All the figures look like they walked off the screen. Playmates brought it with there Disney Afternoon lines
I absolutely used to love the sky Commanders I think I had about every toy they had sadly the cartoon I don't even remember watching it but KB toys had them on sale and right around my birthday super awesome birthday present
Tribes did somewhat get made, but by Lego, it was called Bionicle, they went all out with the collectible masks in its first two years, each figure had a gimmick involving weapon swinging gimmicks hitting their masks
Nice video. The second series I'm curious if there were any plans for is Dick Tracy. With the amount of merchandise put out I'd imagine there would've been.
I haven’t really seen any of those things 🤔 there’s a lot of the preproduction artwork but not a lot indicating other characters, it was a movie franchise so the longevity depended on the success as well
Where did you get those shots of the Tribes physical toys which looked to me like they were in sealed graded cases. Man I wish someone would do some knockoffs or reproductions on that line because I want them all
You almost need to do a series called “Reinforcements: The Second Series of Famous Toy Lines” as many either expanded or contracted for various reasons, of course!
Don't know if you all had Cartoon Network and Space Ghost Coast to Coast back in the 90s, some of those Tribe figures look like Brak a character from that show
If the collector who sent the Tribes figures to CAS grading is looking to sell I’m in the market. I’ve literally been wanting to get those since I saw them in the toy fair catalogue when I was 5. Let’s make a deal!
Interestingly enough, a concept similar to Tribes will be fully realized with Bionicle by Lego in 2001. Action-figures, beasts and vehicles with action features to play together and knock off the mask of the opponent. Each mask granting a different power, with blind bags (of masks) who may include rare colors. The idea is that of an island populated by tribes of biomechanical beings (they have high technology but very close to earth culture), their god/guardian has been tricked and a dark entity is tormenting them by unleashing monsters and corrupting nature. Their only hope is summoning the six heroes of legends to fight evil. The line lasted ten years with a pretty heavy storyline, and the wild island is only the background of the early years. Nothing is exactly what it seems at first and it get pretty wild at the end.
This is definitely a Precursor to M.a.s.k. Think about it. It has big masks with powers. It has a mask named firehawk and one of the characters is named The tracker. Too many coincidences if you ask me
i wouldn't mind having the Tribes...but the looked a bit stiff for basic Action figure fun. My brother had Sky Commanders, and i thought they were interesting.
Tribes looks VERY interesting and fully realized. I could definitely see an alternate universe where these were produced. However, the cultural misappropriation is STRONG with this one.
So Ed have you ever heard of Small Soldiers if you do these are some awesome toys from the movie that is about toys I will love to have a replicas from the movie accurate toy would you
Still such a shame that Wednesday got left out of production while Pugsly got released, someone out there needs to start making customs of the missing Addams family members!
🤓 i really wanna know what the thing was supposed to be!
Wednesday would have been a great addition to the Addams Family Action Figures
@@EdsRetroGeekOut Thing was probably going to be a wind up toy that moved like a Halloween decoration and bigger than a McDonald's toy.
Playmates did do some wind up gimmicks in their wacky action tmnt line, stuff like the mauser could probably have been applied to this 🤓
yeah i guess puglsey got a toy as girl figures don't sell too well. Of course nowadays it would probably be the other way around with wendsday being popular.
Your videos are simply amazing Ed. Top shelf sh** 😎👊
Glad you like them!
Those tribes figures are 🔥🔥 . Those would have been real fun as a kid
Some cool looking dudes in there 🤓
I love when you do the unproduced toys videos, Ed. Always interesting stuff.
More to come!
I don't know if I ever saw the Sky Commanders show, but the toys were so fun.
They do look very innovative I wanna get my hands on the big command center 😁
I love these episodes, and thinking of what could've been. Thank you!
Thanks 🤓
I remember getting a Sky Commander when I was a kid. I completely forgot about this line. Thanks for jogging my memory!
Thanks for watching buddy 🤓
Those Addams Family figures brought back some memories. I had Lurch and Uncle Fester.
On another note, I’d love to see what ever happened to the unreleased waves of Resaurus toys. I loved their stuff as a kid, but they just faded away.
Haven’t heard of that line will check em out
Absolutely love these episodes Ed! Nice one!
Glad you like them!
🤯Damn I used to love sky commanders them and air raiders were thing for a minute 🫡to ya retro for the flashbacks 👍🏻
Thank you 🤓
I love this series. It’s always so exciting seeing the toys that never made it out. Great job
Thanks buddy 😁
Never even heard of Tribes! I'd have bought the hell out of those 😂 look awesome. Great content as always Ed.
Thanks buddy 🤓
So glad to see another episode. Please keep this series alive.
Thanks buddy

Would love to have some 😁
DAMNIT...I LOVE💓Those
Tribes Figures & ESPESALLY
They're Animal Companions!!
Hope there is a legit disc release of Sky Commanders! Looks dank!
That cartoon is pretty off the rails
Love the Sky Commanders so much when I was 10 years old. Still love seeing anything pop up about them on my feed. And I have never heard about the dropped 2nd line!! Thanks for giving this to me 38 years later - made my day!
Thanks buddy
Eddies looking 10 years younger without the beard!!
🤣
Appreciate you sharing the knowledge sir. Lots of great stuff we missed out on here and those tribe figures look exceptionally good.
Thanks buddy 🤓
Toy History!! Alway's good to see a new episode drop 😁
Thanks buddy 🤓
Another great episode! A big fan of the Addams family and would have loved to have gotten a cousin IT! 👍🏼
Awesome 😁
Yay! Finally a new TOY HISTORY episode!
Thanks for watching 🤓
awesome video!!!
Thanks!!
Outstanding video as usual bro!
Thanks again!
I dont know if you didnt notice, or just didnt mention it, but the tribes card art is clearly done by Earl Norem, who was known for his MOTU art.
Epic I hadn’t looked into it 😁
Tribes figures look pretty sick 🤪.
I think so too!
Another amazing video Ed. Thank you. Your effort and dedication is second to none but would be nothing without your extensive knowledge. Thank you again you legend
I had a GI Joe helicopter in the early 90s that used the zip line gimmick. Lots of fun! Another great toy history episode!!
Awesome 🤘
Man I missed your history RUclips just isn't the same without it. Shout-out to your fellow attic invaders Narc because his video yesterday, lol 😂 he was wearing a toy history shirt just for you.
Awesome 😎⚡️🤣
Toybiz webflyers from Spiderman animated series were ziplane toys, Spiderman, Hob Goblin and Carnage
Awesome I knew there had to be more out there 😁
I always wanted sky commanders, but they were SO expensive.
Hopefully now we can get em cheaper 🤣
Tribes and sky commanders look awesome! I love that masked bear
The best!
Been waiting FOREVER for another toys histories reviews episode
Thanks buddy
Left a comment on Narc page telling him to send you a retro freaks shirt and a Narc shirt and if he has any an attic invaders one. You can always use more shirts for videos, it never hurts.
I got a narc and attic i vader one I believe a retro freaks one is waiting for me 🤓
I am so paranoid today that I spend the first 5 minutes of the video trying to figure out if it was an april fools joke, haha
🤣 it’s not
i *REALLY* Wish someone would take the Prototypes for these Tribes figures and Remake them for the Modern Market! i would buy *EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! THEY ARE SO COOL!!!*
I wonder why nacelle hasn’t jumped on the IP yet 🤔
Ed's Retro Geek Out: The punk rock of toy collecting!
Thanks dude 🤣
Your 'Toy History' vids are great toy related infotainment
Thank you 🤓
I hate it when companies don't release full families in the first wave... I held off on the Addams toyline BECAUSE of this. Recently this happened again when Mego released Marries with Children figures. We got Al, Peg, and Kelly....but no Bud. So the family will never be complete.
Yeah that’s weird 🤔
Love this episode!
Thanks buddy 😁
Great video i was missing this type of video
Thanks for watching 🤓
I was a HUGE Addams Family fan as a kid, and desperately waited for the Wednesday to come out....it never happened. But I did still get all the others and the Pugsley's scavenger hunt game for super nes
Great TH Video again. Thanks for it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love Sky Commanders. They even did a cartoon, I have the DVD. You should do an episode on it! I just wish the Sky Commanders were more like GI Joe in quality.
If they were more compatible with them it would have helped too 🤓
Great video!
Thanks!

Odd indeed cuz she would have been a more popular character but perhaps less toyetic 🤓
@@EdsRetroGeekOut A shame they didn't just release the kids in a 2 pack..
Keep making these. So interesting to see what could have been 👏
Thanks, will do!
what a shame for Wednesday... a smart move was have no action feature but include her with Pugsley as double pack. Sad
That would make sense as a double pack 😁
I would have been all over tribes! Especially with that tower and all its features!
Awesome
I really enjoyed Sky Commanders.
Awesome
love it.
Thanks buddy 🤓
Excellent video! :)
Thank you very much!
Where can we get the toy collector magazine Ed?
You can here: toycollectr.com
Darkwing Duck had a second wave like Nega Duck in it but they weren't released.
I did a video on that unreleased wave in episode 34
Playmates we’re the kings of having figures on the back of the cards that never came out. Tailspin had Wildcat that never happened
Yeah there’s a couple on there 🤓
Such an underrated toy line. The Seaduck and the air pirate fighter were amazing. All the figures look like they walked off the screen. Playmates brought it with there Disney Afternoon lines
I never knew about Tribes before now.
Only the strong survive 😁🤘
i have three of the star wars coins one yoda a lea and a r2d2 lol got em when i was a kid my dad gave them to me cause he was always into star wars.
That’s awesome those are a great add in to those later releases 🤓
I actually really like sky commanders. I had the base. It was really cool.
That base looks super interesting 😁
Now wait a minute at 3:10 on this video did i hear "castrating" lol
🤣 whaat nah that wasn’t in the script
I absolutely used to love the sky Commanders I think I had about every toy they had sadly the cartoon I don't even remember watching it but KB toys had them on sale and right around my birthday super awesome birthday present
Tribes did somewhat get made, but by Lego, it was called Bionicle, they went all out with the collectible masks in its first two years, each figure had a gimmick involving weapon swinging gimmicks hitting their masks
They are indeed quite similar

I haven’t really seen any of those things 🤔 there’s a lot of the preproduction artwork but not a lot indicating other characters, it was a movie franchise so the longevity depended on the success as well
I still have my sky commanders 😊
Awesome 😁
The tribes removeable masks reminds me of the Bionicle mask gimmick with there gear turning attacks
They are very alike indeed 😜
Where did you get those shots of the Tribes physical toys which looked to me like they were in sealed graded cases. Man I wish someone would do some knockoffs or reproductions on that line because I want them all
Cas grading showed them on their insta, you can check em all out on theirs ;)
I’m working start my favorite villains collection ranging from marvel to dc from spawn to masters of the universe and transformers
“Sky commanding your mom!” - Robot Chicken
You almost need to do a series called “Reinforcements: The Second Series of Famous Toy Lines” as many either expanded or contracted for various reasons, of course!
Yes! 😁👌
I still have the sky commanders base .
Epic 🤘🤓
What are those figures at 0:10?
That’s mighty max 🤓
Cool thanks for the reply
@@EdsRetroGeekOut 💙
I would’ve got the Cousin Itt, hopefully he comes out next season in Wednesday
I really liked that first season would be great to see all the family in the next season 🤓
I just recently got the Addams Family toy linen on eBay and was searching for a Wednesday but couldn't find her.. now I know why LOL
Kinda sucks cuz you wanna get the whole family 🫤
Don't know if you all had Cartoon Network and Space Ghost Coast to Coast back in the 90s, some of those Tribe figures look like Brak a character from that show
Ill look into that
If the collector who sent the Tribes figures to CAS grading is looking to sell I’m in the market. I’ve literally been wanting to get those since I saw them in the toy fair catalogue when I was 5. Let’s make a deal!
Not sure who’s they are but indeed these are some great figures
the big Thing figure looks to be a wind up toy.
the white bone on top is the wind up key
That could be 😲

I never got into bionicle but that does sounds very similar 😁
Tribes look awesome, but I bet they would have pushback from Mattel.
🤔 they couldn’t even get remco to stop creating toys that looked like he man
I Want one of each please sir!😅
Noted 😁🤘
This is definitely a Precursor to M.a.s.k. Think about it. It has big masks with powers. It has a mask named firehawk and one of the characters is named The tracker. Too many coincidences if you ask me

Anybody else get amber spyglass polar bear vibes from the tribes armoured bear?
Awesome 😁
i wouldn't mind having the Tribes...but the looked a bit stiff for basic Action figure fun. My brother had Sky Commanders, and i thought they were interesting.
They don’t have action poses buy i guess its due to the gimmick’s mechanics and the battlemattic feature
@@EdsRetroGeekOut yeah, the necks look creepy thick, but that's because of the punch-mask thing
They need to bring those tribes back as they were meant to be I'm sure us 35- forty-year-old men will be buying them I know I would
😏 id get a few!
Would u like to own these tribes prototypes ed
I like the skull ones and that crodcodile 😁 they’d look great next to the mid 80s toys
Boo I put the like count to 70 :( LMAO!
🤣🤣
Tribes looks VERY interesting and fully realized. I could definitely see an alternate universe where these were produced. However, the cultural misappropriation is STRONG with this one.
Perhaps it could have been an issue then I just wonder why they didn’t alter anything or they didn’t end up using sculpts for other toylines 🤔
@@EdsRetroGeekOut yeah, it seems like they buried the whole thing and forgot about it
So Ed have you ever heard of Small Soldiers if you do these are some awesome toys from the movie that is about toys I will love to have a replicas from the movie accurate toy would you
There’s a dude that made some great replicas but he deleted his instagram 🥲 I love that movie i wanted the toys to be more like the movie 😅
You ever watch SpongeBob SquarePants if you do you should watch the early seasons of season one and two and three also they got great toy from Super 7
You ever watch SpongeBob SquarePants if you do you should watch the early seasons of season one and two and three also they got great toy from Super 7
Tribes looks interesting. Sky Commanders was a terrible toy line
