Weki Meki actually coined the Teen Crush term and concept 🤟🏼 their debut was so strong imo and they deserve so much more love 😭
Weki Meki have some of my personal favorite choreos! I think they have a really unique choreo style that’s so fun to watch.
the debut was mad overwhelming for sure xD tbh i started liking it a lot more after watching the dance practice for it. i actually prefer that video to the mv, these girls are such good dancers (my girl lua especially of course imo, but i may be just a little [lot] biased)
Lua gets the least lines pretty consistently, unfortunately :( it has started to get better though, at least from what ive noticed! i wasn't into cute stuff at all when i first got into kpop, and then i found weki meki and that immediately went out the window lmao
picky picky and tiki taka (99%) are my fave weme title tracks, but for bsides "ironboy" is so damn funky, so good. i hope you check them out more in the future! obvs when you have time, ik you're very busy! thank you for all the great videos, i love watching them after a long day at work. your voice and commentary help me de-stress xD
The assertion I've heard that I appreciated was that they went too experimental with I Don't Like Your Girlfriend and then as a reaction to the push back from it they went way too safe with La La La so that after that, even as WeMe was finding their sound, they were facing an uphill battle to gain a broader audience but that 's one perspective. Overall I absolutely love WeMe starting with I Don't Like Your Girlfriend and between them and their counterparts Gugudan I can listen to any of their songs and just nod along with them. I still give them all sorts of credit for being the authors of the Teen Crush sound.
