It's actually "teen crush" kind of a combination between girlcrush and cute. They act all cool and girl crush but are actually clumsy and cute.
That's what they were going for, it's confusing in the beginning, but once you realise what the concept really is, its quite entertaining and unique.
Actually, their whole album concept is like this. The name is Kiss Kicks.
Kiss for the cute side, kicks for the girl crush/badass side. The pictures in the kiss album version are also way cuter than the pictures in the kicks version.
Exactly it’s about these girls trying to be bad asses but legit just being cute in the lyrics and what they end up doing.
So basically they're not faking personalities unlike BLACKPINK

They legit perform bad ass and girl crush comfortably and well. Them trying to hard to hard to be cute would be cringy. TBH I believe Weki Meki could pull off a bad ass concept (from the teaser) if they tried really hard but this teen crush idea is so unique! Im here for it.
But doing different concepts isnt fake all of our favs for the most part have tested water and done different stuff to be interesting nothing fake about it.

I think the point of the MV is, that the girls want to put out a badass image (as many girl groups nowadays), but that's just not who they are. So, they are okay with being their own, ditzy selves, and that's what frees them in the end.
Also, the structure of the song does a lot of similar things as BP's AIIYL, and for that group, it was BP's attempt of doing the cutesy stuff. It's interesting to contrast them, in that context.
Chauncer yeah it’s interestingBP try to do cutesy and they can be but they tend to always end up look girl crush bad assish. I enjoy weki Mekis different approach to this and just being their cute self.
For me, Weki Meki excels the most at this point in their career is their b-side tracks. Iron Boy, Color Me, Metronome, and Neverland area all bops. This comeback does excel in giving Weki Meki a sold title track.

Weki Meki's concept is "Teen Crush" which is literally what you commented on as far as song sound vs MV feel. Teen Crush is meant to be an in between between Girl Crush and Cute by design. The change in tone between the verses and the chorus is meant to highlight that, as is the start of the MV, where they look all bad ass and finish cute and fun. The intended flavor of the MV is intended to be the bad-ass girls that cant be bad-ass and still end up cute. But anyways, thats the entire point of their concept. Its different and its what sets Weki Meki apart from the other thousand cute and girl crush groups, and its something I enjoy about them.
The wall isn't accurate at all. Doyeon's like 5'8.
Yuju the Golden member - ikr, yoojung is the smallest and she is 5ft2 and they were allllll under 5ft on the chart
the later part of the mv was them goofy… so the first part was just "I'll show I'm strong but I'm actually clumsy…" :)
The chorus has some old school kpop feeling to it and I love it

Jeremy There is nothing wrong with that. Again as people have said with pristin it’s a way for people to figure out who is who easier if they are new fans or just not good at learning names. I think it’s cute.
Maggie Its cute but i just think its almost identical, its a little unoriginal. I liked the teaser’s way of showing their names

The height chart at the end is definitely messed up because despite Yoojung looking like she could be under 5ft, Doyeon is more like 5'8 lmao. I loved this song so much and it reminded me of 2nd generation kpop which i havent heard in a while.
I don't know if I would call it messed up or comically produced to fit with the theme of the song.
I love this song too :) , it's very similar to Chungha's rollercoaster in some ways.
I see alot of people saying the mv doesnt fit but I really dont see where it doesnt fit?
chorus sounds so much like rollercoaster, even the "jakku" before the breakdown.

PD I think I ought to let you know that the 'pretty girl with big circular eyes that remind you of a cute little fish', her name is Suyeon. But I agree with you, this MV looks high-budgeted despite noticeably being shot in a warehouse Fantagio found a good MV maker.
If you pay attention to the MV, in the beginning they are badass and cool but later on they become clumsy (Elly and Lucy breaking the car, Rina cutting herself with the ninja star). Those parts really changed the whole concept for me. I thought this was a girl crush concept but it's more teen crush. They act cool but are still cute and clumsy.
I actually like the chorus a lot.

i agree that they dont have the same genre of song in their titles but they consistantly come up with a teen crush spunky attitude.
and as other comments have said they've showed the teen crush concept in the mv bc they start as 'cool criminals' but they end up messing everything up and end up caught

Personally, I dont understand the ending theme where they all post in front of the crimial thingee, this problems also happended to soooooooo many kpop music videos, what is it attrated about being a criminal???? The song is amazing tho, it's my jam. Overall, Love the song, not too sure about the music video.
Yeah, the whole ending seemed unclear... Doyeon accidentally fires her gun, but why then are they holding their guns and searching? They had already been making a hella lotta noise with everything else in there. Who could possibly be coming for them? And Doyeon bumps her arm against the switch setting off something, but is it an alarm? Seems a strange place for that. The criminal lineup seemed an afterthought and it was a distraction after such a good song.

The police mug shot scene's height thing is inaccurate. Yoojung herself state she was 158 cm tall, or about 5'2", and she is the shortest member of the group.

Doyeon is listed as 172cm and that might actually be acurate. Most of the times Idols cheat upwards, but at that height it seems unnecessary. So that would put her at 5'7''-5'8''.
