- How to replace the halogen headlight bulbs with LED's in 2007 (new body style) thru 2013 full size GM pickups. Low beams are H11 and high beams are 9005. (links below) Also replaced the low beam pigtail connectors.

It's easier to just take the airbox out on the passenger side. The drivers side does not require removal of anything for most bulbs. I suppose some aftermarket LED's with rear mounted fans may require loosening the housing to move them out a little during installation.

Yes, they are alot brighter. We've tried to aim them down a bit. I drove toward him and they are the same as any newer vehicle's HID lights.
Nice light swap job. One question. Where was your Son. He should have been helping. I used to do the same thing for my son. But not anymore.
If you have anymore problems with wire burning out..you may have fixed it but the wiring harness has short in it..if it does don't do pigtail. Replace whole wiring harness..I had to do it on my 09..you can get them on Amazon for around $29

His left low beam (the H11 bulb) started act up about 6 months later so we replaced just that one. All the others are good so far. We also aimed the lights down just a hair because even the low beams are brighter than stock and we didn't want to blind oncoming traffic!. Thanks for the comment, good luck with your LED install.
Just some advice. While your at it. Change out turn signal bulbs. Made that mistake once lol

The daytime running light burns the wire replaced the pigtail and remove the fuse I think is fuse 33 and 30

I have had to replace the passenger side of tail 3 times and the drivers once. After the passenger side went out a second time I ran an extra ground wire and crimped an eye on the end then bolted it to the air filter housing. Then when I replaced the plug with a pigtail on the drivers side I ran an extra ground wire to the extra battery shelf and bolted it on. Since then the Silverstar Ultra bulbs have lasted longer and I have not had to replace the pigtails. Now thinking about putting the Sylvania LED bulbs in the headlights.
How’s the heat from the led? Any issues with heat or pigtails?
It's been over a year and no issues, so far so good!
I just changed my bulbs all to. Upgrade n. Match factory bubls work I put ultra Brite gold rip. Whiter light which is. Great for nite. Driven better than factory or the bulbs I have in it
The same exact side on my 2011 ltz just whent out deciding what blubs to get or do a whole headlite swap

What brand and part # LEDs did you get for the high and low beam. Looking to do the same with my 2013 silverado
do you have any issues with them flickering or shutting off? Can-Bus stuff, like it not seeing there being a light on and sending error?

Hey brother how are you I love ur video , I have a question I have an 08 Chevy I change them to h11 low beam bulbs but for some reason one turns blue and the other white what could that be??
I'm not sure why that would be? It could be the bulbs were made with different intensities, maybe one is 5000K and the other is 6000K?
How did you get the led bulb to fit without the led fan hitting
The LED bulbs we bought fit in the housing without hitting. To put them in we had to loosen and move the housing out a bit.

Yes, they should twist in and fit just like the stock ones.

the bulbs/LED's are H11 go to any auto parts store and you just look for that number.

Hmmm? It says the same for my sons 2012 silverado? But they fit fine, and are still working good so far. I think the low beams are the H11, and high beams are the 9005.

One reason that much heat is burning up everything your grounds are bad on that side somewhere

What's the brand of the LED bulbs and where can I buy a set?
I ordered mine from lasfit... I came here to see if there was any "protips" about changing them. They weren't cheap. But they're aimable.

Those are plug and play Why you twist and cut wires
The original plug was burnt, so I replaced with a new one.
Great Job, now you're blinding the fuck out of oncoming traffic.. LEDs belong in Projector Housings just like HIDs..
Just a quick question...How do you aim the lights down? I'm about to put them same exact bulbs in with a different housing
On the stock housings, there's an adjusting screw/bolt head on the top back of each headlight assembly. It's white plastic and takes a hex/allen wrench (size H6). If you turn clockwise I think it aims the light down, but try both ways to be sure?

I got them off Ebay. I think they were called H11 881 H8 ceramic female pigtail.

Kevin, I am sorry but without all the hem hawing around he would have been through in half the time! Dont say something, then say....welllll....may be not. He needs to practice first. I grew up with mechanic family and he's too wishywashy. Yes he does have talent.....but not worthy of the length of this video due to so much repetition.

I have the same truck and I bought 2 sets of cheap h11 LEDs the kept going out so I assumed it was because the were cheap so I bought some Auxbeam LEDs with fans and they still went out after about 2 months??? Is it because there is enough room for them to keep cool??? Are yours still working??
One of the low beams went out, so I bought a couple different ones and they are still working after about 9 months. I'll try and find the link for the ones I bought.
TheWolverine0657 I have the Lasfit brand led bulbs off amazon in my lows, highs, and fogs have had them for over 2 yrs now with no problems. I got tired of changing a bulb every 3-4 months with the stock halogens. I have the same brand now in my wife’s 4 runner for over a year now problem free too. Did the bulbs you tried have the built in cooling fans?

What size is the fog light bulb?
I'm not exactly sure, but they may be a 5202 H16? I would verify for sure though.

How do you align the headlights once the LEDs are installed?
The lights seemed to be aimed correctly, so we didn't mess with any alignment adjustment.

You know you can buy led lights that fit? You dont have to do all of that disassembly.
Hey, thanks for the info.......I should have shopped around more. The ones I bought had the larger fan on the back and wouldn't twist in without moving the headlight housing!

Um this is why you don’t put people like this on you tube. I replaced mine and didn’t have to dismantle half the front end. Simple common sense will tell you.
With led bulbs you need to take the grill off because the bulb fan will hit the frame and it just won’t go in without loosening the headlight a little
