Could you tell me where the problem with the old shaft was? If it was oil leak or bearing issues I would think that it would have been cheaper to replace the outer seals and bearings. Or was the issue with broken splines under the outer cap? I watched twice to see if I missed the underlying problem, maybe I missed it two times?

I just had to replace the bearing and the outer seal. I have had the new style shaft laying around the shop for a few years so I just put it in so I could still use the tractor until I had found time to fix the old shaft. Thanks for the comment!

Is that 1 3/8 on ea end of that shaft

@michaeljackson7361 the new shaft is 1 3/8 the old shaft that they used is 1 1/8

@michaeljackson7361 oh yes it should be the right size for the internals but 1 3/8 on the outside for new style pto on the implements.

Do you have the PTO lever in the engaged or disengaged position when reinstalling the PTO shaft? I am doing mine tomorrow. Thanks!

So to fill the differential, you put the fluid in the transmission and it finds its way all the way back to the differential??

Yes correct on the 2N,9N and 8N the transmission shares the oil with the rear end
