Takeda is honestly the best character right now to watch. Whereas with Shao or Johnny or almost anyone else they all play the same way with the only variation being with kameo selection. Like Shao may play slightly differently with Mavado than he does with Ferra but its not much different. Everybody seems to be playing Takeda completely differently because he has so many moves. Its a breath of fresh air for Mk1 and it was badly needed!
Like there are people out there who nearly avoid his stars altogether or there are others that don't use his back 21. Or in the air they use the ex swing kick to extend combos others use the exdown back 2. He has so many ways to be played and all are viable
@OpenMiker-rp4eo ya in kl at least I've seen some real good players that just don't or rarely use it. Because they mainly will punish you with 21 or 12 anyway and if they are spaced well f12 (i think?) Does the same job from a slightly less range and those players will also punish you at range with the enhanced spear anyway. Its bizarre seeing all these different ways he can be played
I wish i could play half as well as this ;_; NRS fighters are just really weird for me to play. I think the input system is different from something like Tekken or Granblue, my two main fighters I'm learning atm. I'd love to get into MK1 but the early issues kinda pushed me away and I came back since Takeda's kit is kinda cool but struggling with the game in general - I think it's a combination of requiring really good execution but doing it very rapidly in terms of inputs. (especially things like back forward or forward back type ones) Looking forward to seeing more
Forward back inputs? I don’t think those exist in NRS games. Takeda has some tricky optimal combos. Having a good controller helps, and making sure that release check is disabled for controls. I don’t understand why it’s in the game. Pro players don’t like it; nor do the casuals 😝
Super, you make the BF3 (aerial) cancel look so easy! I’ve practiced now for a handful of hours and I’m hit or miss whether I connect my combo or not. 😢
It’s harder off of his teleport attack cos it doesn’t launch the opponent as high as his other launchers. I heard of some tricks to make it easier but what I think might actually help me is to try holding back on the bf3 swing ability to try to control how far he swings. Usually when I miss with swing, j24, I swung (weird word lol) too far.
I used to be a genuine hater but This game is honestly growing on me it has improved so much I just hope we get more freedom and combo potential with more characters 🙏🏾😫

Hitting any of the face buttons will throw one singular star. If you want to throw the final set of ninja stars, triggering the fatal blow, then just hit R2 after the animation!
Every Takeda I've faced just jumped around like a monkey the entire time dropping combos and spamming explosive kunai...it was easy to beat them. I understand the character just released but we had a better time playing Quan Chi day one than Takeda for some reason
Only special he’s missing from MKX is his awesome machine gun punch but he has a lot of special attacks and abilities and almost all of them have more than one version. He plays the most like an MKX character and has lots of combo routes/creativity and damage.
Huh? As Super has said, they waste time and some players get mad when a random person does a fatality on them, that’s not already a friend. Fatalities are mostly for new players who haven’t seen the fatalities a bunch of times already. Brutalities are preferred cos there’s more of them and they have special requirements so they’re more fun to see as a surprise and more satisfying to do.

Been playing Mortal Kombat since Deadly Alliance days and Fatalities are always on my ‘regular finish’ list due to how iconic, creative and gory they can be. And I’ll be frank, some random dude I get lucky enough to beat wants to get upset cos I choose to Fatality them, that’s a ‘them’ problem and warrants a ‘refamiliarise yourself with the touch of grass’ response.

Some don’t use his b21? That’s odd cos it’s so useful when you have good spacing.

When you do the air downward pull move do jump 1 instead of jump 2 it’s way easier to connect
