    Even in interviews, John makes you realize how creative, articulate, talented, innovative, and honest he is. He is the musical spokesperson for the average Joe and everyone else.

    I turn to musicians & comedians for truth, knowledge, decency and freedom of thought. I don’t know where else to turn in this day & age. Thank god for Mellencamp & his like, they mean more than they’ll ever know to many, many people.

    Never seen this side of John.
    I'm 45 and I could relate to his anxiety
    Was cool how Howard eased off the mask , he's really good at that.
    Not that John is something he's not, but we all put up some kind of facade, or protection
    Howard is good at pealing back the layers to see the real person , that even the one being interviewed is surprised, and leaving them Actually feeling a weight lifted off
    Takes a lot of work to keep up with your ego
    I find it liberating to show my vulnerable side
    Rock on Mellencamp 🎸

    I can totally understand what John is saying, I’m a long time sufferer of Panic Attacks, I don’t think you ever get over them but if you’ve got a good Doc, although it’s always there but you learn over time how to live with them. I can also understand when he says he likes his own company and time that is yours alone. I tell you I could be madly in love with someone but I’ve still got to have time and space, I don’t have to go out or do anything special but you do have to have faith that if it’s gonna happen it will if you don’t you probably shouldn’t worry too much. I think possibly people put too much pressure on themselves to be everything you think you should be too someone else and you will probably find out too late you should just be yourself, warts and all. Let them have space and give yourself space. I think there would be a lot less break ups and Divorce if people not try to be what they are. I’m a person who has many acquaintances but only a handful of people I’m really close to, the other thing I won’t do is get involved in idle gossip , I know a lot of women who take delight in gossip they live for it and it’s always at someone else’s expense. I run a million miles from that. 🎼❤️🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸🕺🏻💃🎸☘️

      Avoid caffiene and nicotene. Exercise to the point of exhaustion. Sweat outside in the sun. When muscles and bodies don't move.....mood get's out of balance. Anxiety is controlleable......but you got to move muscles and sweat.

    • @donellefeltham
      @donellefeltham 2 года назад

      @@jimbeam7160 Oh you think, then you’ve never had it, if you had you wouldn’t put your self medicating message up. Not everything is as cut and dried as that. It just shows the ignorance of people who’ve never suffered Anxiety Attacks or depression, because you can’t see it, you don’t think it’s real but the last thing you want to be doing in the throw’s of an attack is exercising,not drinking Coffee and Lord forbid, Smoking. Anxiety or Panic Attacks are not nice you are just there shaking and sweating and wondering what the hell is wrong with you, so you go to Doctor after Doctor who perform dozens of tests, which all come back normal and you get told there’s nothing wrong with you. Year’s ago when I had my first Panic Attack there wasn’t much known about them but because there was nothing physically wrong with you the Doctor’s thought it was in your head . You were making a big deal about nothing but you would come out with Script’s for nerve tablet’s and antidepressants, which help but that little bugger still jumped up and bit you on the arse just when you were thinking you might be alright. Thankfully today it is a recognised illness and there are much better treatments for it and your not losing your mind you are just one of the many millions, who may only suffer one or two attacks in your lifetime but for people like myself , John and Bruce, and the millions of other’s that live with this for many year’s, we know there will be times when it bites us, but we also know their are treatments out there that actually work. So you can take your Sweat and no Coffee or Nicotine and shove it were the Sun don’t shine, because you have no clue.

    • @jimbeam7160

      @@donellefeltham Anxiety is a mood disorder or imbalance. You have to move and sweat. Every neurotic I met wasn't exercising, sweating, and didn't have a sun tan. Your skin produces Vit D3 and Vit C. It's diet and sweating.

    • @donellefeltham
      @donellefeltham 2 года назад

      @@jimbeam7160 I hate to burst your bubble Jim, I do exercise and I do have a suntan, what did you think I lock myself up. I’ve been dealing with this Anxiety and Depression for more years than I want to count but that does not mean I have locked myself away. Simply because as horrible as I felt some days, I still had to work and do the same every day things that most people do. I could ramble on about the Science of it all because I’ve studied in, as it has been my practice to arm myself with knowledge but I don’t care what you say there are people out there who don’t know what the hell’s hit them when they begin to have Anxiety Attacks they can be be so very debilitating people are frightened to leave their homes. By the way it is it’s a Chemical Imbalance not a Mood Disorder and as I said before there are those who don’t believe it because they can’t see it and that’s the long and the short of it.

    the thing that annoys me about Howard is he is constantly projecting his own neuroses on to whoever he's interviewing... I think John said it well .. he's always had confidence.. he was just young and inexperienced.. that's not the same as young neurotic and lacking confidence...which is what howard hopes he can commiserate on..he uses this schtick over and over..he just cut john.off for the 20th time..so we didn't get to hear John talk about why it's a different kind of love at 62..instead we heard Howard decide that it's because John paints alone that his relationships fail. Howard needs to learn to shut up

    John,
    First, just let me say, I think we are going to need a second go-round of your songs that provide such a meaningful "social commentary". Especially the songs that show that we are all a lot more similar than we sometimes like to believe, regardless of how different we sometimes see ourselves from others.
    I doubt you'll see this, but if by some miracle you do, I hope you'll check out the following.

    John is clearly a natural talent, yet I find his social insights so limited at times. The record companies should have just made a deal with Google? Really? Outside of the fact that Google did not become popular until well after Napster lost its fight...the problem for the record companies was that music was being traded freely and without profit via peer to peer file transfer software (i.e. Napster). That misconception on his part is little more than an admission that you missed the fact that a technological revolution began sometime in the 90's. Kind of like when he dismissed the grunge movement for not being cerebral enough. Sing, John...don't talk. Sing.

      jean poo-tin -idk much about that, but I hate his liberal view on things especially when alot of times (80s mostly)he would actually be on the conservative side of an issue, but called it liberal!
