I'd also like to add that HP provided no support at all from this when all I had to do it was slide over the tray so the paper can feed I feel almost stupid just for not looking but keep up to good work
You saved me from overspending on unpredictable servicing cost. This trick worked for me. However, I had to use multiple layers of swabs to clean the rollers thoroughly. 👍
Hello there, thanks for the video. I have a consultation. I accidentally spilled coffee on it and I cleaned the rollers but still have showing either out of paper and sometimes jam paper. This printer is very expensive now because it has been discontinued. Do you think is worth fixing it? Appreciate your help.
This worked so much better than the HP video. Cleaned the rollers and no issues anymore. However I didn't have alcohol swabs, so I used baby wipes which worked just as well
Thanks, this helped me, although I also found a tiny kids toy in there that my son must have somehow dropped, which may have been preventing the paper feeding properly also... :)
It would be soooo helpful if in your “printer repair and mantenamce” playlist, you make a playlist for HP, another playlist for Cannon and another for Epson, etc. And even better would be to clump together like printers, ie. All HP Photosmart. Maybe alphabetize groups in one manufacturer’s playlist. 189 videos is a lot to sort through when you need help.
hello, I got a hp 3831 so very close to yours (they look the same) I got the same problem after a paper jam, the printer does not take any paper at all.... i tried to clean it with water q tip. I dindt try the alcohol pad..; how i can do it? with piece of tissue? mine doesnt want to work at all.... it stars taking the paper and then it stopped and no paper pop up :( very frustrating! thanks for the video anyway!!
If it take the paper and then paper stops again, then check that area where paper stops. Can be a tiny piece of paper or some tiny object stuck in there or one of the rollers jammed. Open the front door of the printer and shine some light inside. That may help you spot the problem.

I'll check tomorrow as you say... because there is nothing if look with a light nothing physic either in the front 🙁 I'll check tomorrow better maybe a piece of Lego is inside... or a piece of paper where I cannot see. I wonder if we can safely open it to check? Maybe it's a bad idea no? 😊
Hi. Check inside the printer. You may find a piece of paper in the way of ink carrier. Also, your timing strip may be dirty or out of place, or even ripped.. Check this video for reference on how to open printer to get inside from top: ruclips.net/video/NnGRFuZ1ZK0/видео.html
great tips, but didn’t work for me after hours of searching with a flashlight for anything inside the printer, checking the tray on the bottom, cleaning all the rollers, resetting the printer - mine still shows Paper Jam Error.

Can of compressed air worked for me. Do the same thing he shows you but spray the compressed air on the rollers.
