Battlefield 4 is a first-person shooter video game developed by video game developer EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is a sequel to 2011's Battlefield 3 and was released in October 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360; then later in November for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Battlefield 4 was met with positive reception. It was praised for its multiplayer mode, gameplay and graphics, but was also criticized for its short and shallow single-player campaign mode, and for its numerous bugs and glitches in the multiplayer. It was a commercial success
Battlefield 4's multiplayer contains three playable factions-the United States, China, and Russia-fighting against each other, in up to 64-player matches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (24-Player on Xbox 360 and PS3). A newly reintroduced "Commander Mode", last seen in Battlefield 2142, gives one player on each team a real-time strategy-like view of the entire map and the ability to give orders to teammates. Also, the Commander can observe the battle through the eyes of the players on the battlefield, deploying vehicle and weapon drops to "keep the war machinery going", and order in missile strikes on hostile targets.[7][8] A spectator mode is included, enabling players to spectate others in first or third person, as well as use a free camera to pan around the map from any angle.
On June 10, 2013, at E3, DICE featured the map "Siege of Shanghai", pitting the People's Liberation Army against the U.S. Marine Corps. The gameplay showcased Commander Mode; new weapons and vehicles; and the "Levolution" gameplay mechanic. The video displays the last of these at various points, including: a player destroying a support pillar to trap an enemy tank above it; and a large skyscraper (with an in-game objective on the top floor) collapsing in the center of the map, kicking up a massive dust cloud throughout the map and bringing the objective closer to ground level.[9] Levolution also includes effects such as shooting a fire extinguisher to fill the room with obscuring clouds, car alarms going off when stepped on, metal detectors going off once passed through, or cutting the power in a room to reduce others' visibility.[9][10]
The maps included in the main game are "Siege of Shanghai", "Paracel Storm", "Zavod 311", "Lancang Dam", "Flood Zone", "Rogue Transmission", "Hainan Resort", "Dawnbreaker", "Operation Locker" and "Golmud Railway".[11][12] The game modes on offer include Battlefield's Conquest, Domination and Rush; while adding two new game modes called Obliteration and Defuse, along with traditional game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch.[12][13]
The four kits from Battlefield 3 are present in Battlefield 4 with minor tweaks. The Assault kit must now wait for the defibrillator to recharge after reviving teammates in quick succession. The Engineer kit uses PDWs, and carbines are available to all kits. The support kit has access to the new remote mortar and the XM25 allowing for indirect suppressive fire. The Recon kit is now more mobile and is able to equip carbines, designated marksman rifles (DMRs), and C4. Sniping mechanics also give with the ability to zero in your sights (set an aiming distance), and equip more optics and accessories than previous Battlefield games. The Recon kit is still able to utilize the MAV, T-UGS, and the Radio Beacon.[14][15][16][17]
New vehicles have also been introduced. With the addition of the Chinese faction, new vehicles include the Type 99 MBT, the ZFB-05 armored car, and the Z-10W attack helicopter. Jets have also been rebalanced and put into two classes, "attack" and "stealth". The attack jets focus is mainly air-to-ground capabilities, while stealth jets focus mainly on air-to-air combat. Another vehicle added in Battlefield 4 is the addition of the RCB and DV-15 Interceptor attack boats, which function as heavily armed aquatic assault craft.

It’s literally how they’re made. It’s a giant 50 cal mini gun with large stockpile of the bullets with a plane forged around it. That’s literally all it is 😂

Thats the complete construction design of the A10, the cannon was there first, then they thought about how to bring that thing airborne, make it staying mid air as a long as possible, and then put some armor into it to make it safe against counter fire from handheld arms or even 20mm AA when other planes would be fall apart at that point. Then they added also old WW2 wire tec to manually fly the plane without hydraulics, in case on of the pipes got hit. In other planes they would just crash, but not in a A10.

It may sound blasphemous but I honestly hope Battlefield 6 blows us away so we can respectfully retire this game. I still play it daily. It’s replay value is timeless, but damn do we need something new and as epic as this. The air warfare in this game is still exceptional. I pray we aren’t let down..... love the steady flow of videos!

@@coezy. mess around in the testing area until you find out binds that work for you... I would recommend left stick for tilting in each direction, right stick for rotating left/right

Yeah, I hate those crying vehicle only players. Sometimes I steal the vehicle on purpose, so that they run on the ground for a bit. Whenever someone tells me to get out of vehicle because apparently his friend wanted to hop in I don’t care either, because whoever is first gets the vehicle.

Ive played hundreds of hours of scout and I can safely say that those things are just nonstop action and fun.
people say attack heli's are OP but a good scout pilot can easily 1v1 them.
also flying into buildings and under bridges to kill infantry never gets old

The soflam/Javelin combo is a great feature of the game. It might seem OP from the pilot's perspective, but on the other side, it's a feature that really rewards teamplay (so what battlefield should focus on anyway) by being able to take the annoying jet out with one shot.

They overdid it, pretending otherwise is a joke. But fortunately it looks like Battlefield is on its way to the grave. 4 is where we began to see the series become more casual
Oh and let’s not forget the stealth vs attack get out of jail free card. If you get clapped by an A10 in a fighter jet you honestly deserve to be farmed. I used to fly in dogfight ladders and had to get babysat in pub so a salty random didn’t come up in the fighter jet.
Fighter vs fighter, I encountered someone who could put up a decent fight once a month tops.

The little bird is amazing when they're a lot of infantry and when I used to play a lot I could go toe to toe with any other helo, the jets were able to kill me more consistent in killing me tho 😂 great work as always Silk, and I'd love more little bird gameplay 🤘🤘

I love playing DCS World (a flight simulator for fighter planes and more) and I use the A-10C quite a lot... I can definitely say that it is much more different than in BF4. You were spot on about the aircraft stalling from shooting too much (it also makes your shots incredibly hard to aim) and A-10s also couldn't maneuver as easy like in BF4. Those big ass wings definitely make it difficult to make those sharp turns and rolls like in BF4.

Love being AA in BF4 with a stinger and AA mine and dedicating the whole game to keeping jet pilots going 40 - 0 suppressed. Even if I don't get a kill, keeping them out the map by making them run away to refresh their flares most of the game is good enough for me.

The cannon doesn’t make the plane stall after shooting for 3 seconds. The pilot shoots shoots for 3 seconds because the plane can either shoot 2,100 rpm or 4,200 rpm which can waste ammo very fast
Actually, the recoil force from the gun firing continuously is greater than the thrust produced by one of the two engines. Look it up, it's wild!
I never really got into BF4 as deeply as I'd wished but this video makes me wish I had and it just pure pleasure to watch! Great stuff.

3:10 Actually I hope that there's a learning curve to using fixed wing aircraft, and something like stalling out if you're not careful would be a good thing to add.
Just to clear it up, the A10 could shoot all the rounds it carries in a single burst while flying and the flight speed would not be effected. The only damage you'll do to the plane is to degrade the barrels faster than they normally would.
The craziest thing I had learned about the A-10 is that often you’d hear the impact of its bullets before the roar of the chain gun (since it’s faster than the speed of sound)

My first experience of battlefield was bf3 watching jet gameplay, mad to think there's probably a kid watching this falling in love with bf for the first time just like myself many years ago :]
Easiest way to take out a heli is with an AA mine, followed by an RPG. The AA mine gives you an instant mobility hit which gives you enough time to line your shot up. AA mines are underrated and they almost never miss if you deploy it as the right time. Meaning, you should hold onto them for when the heli gets close.
Feels pretty cool seeing people in your video that i've also played with adds a pretty cool sense of community in the OCE servers

love the videos man, and I'd love to see some more Scout Heli gameplay. And speaking of, have you got any tips for aiming with it? I feel like I can manoeuver well with it, but I struggle to land more than a couple bullets at the time cos the yaw is so sensitive on A and D. Do you have the controls switched around so roll and yaw are switched, or is there something else you do?
I like how no one tries to target the little bird with RPGs as you are actually feet of the ground constantly.

I would love an in depth guide for flying jets in this game, I've tried flying in this game and it's a bit tricky to learn. I can get by with a jet but I usually die after a couple kills.

You can only fire the gun for about 15 seconds, before you run out of ammo. The stalling happened because the guns fires so fast that it starves the engines of the oxygen needed to burn fuel (since all that oxygen is being burned away by the gin firing). They fixed this by hooking the ignition to start whenever the gun fires

Fun Fact! Early in the A-10's service it had problems ingesting gun smoke into the engines, causing flameouts. The probabilities of this happening were reduced by creating a different type of propellant for the 30mm rounds, and they linked the gun trigger to kick on the engine igniters while firing.
I play bf4 on ps4 regularly still,..very active for an old non cross play game. Servers still have 10-15 in que on conquest large. Love this game and doesn't get old. More engaging than any cod or warzone
I hope in 2042 there’s more maps without AA, or if they do have AA, there’s incentive for them not to just sit in uncap, like the buildings in dawnbreaker that provide great protection but are risky if the pilot isn’t practiced in threading the needle and also encourage the AA to get creative with their placement and forces them to wait for the perfect moment to catch the pilot off guard; rather than just create a bubble relative to the range of their guided weapons which nobody will ever enter and if they do, pop their counter measures and fly away until they’re off cool down.
It’s really a complex issue to balance the insane power of the aircraft in BF and its counters.
In bf6 if they adjust the a-10 so you can only do 3 seconds but the damage is just massive it would be cool. Like proper armour piercing the tanks and demobilising/killing them in one strafe or mowing down a whole squad in one burst

The idea that the A10 will stall out if it fires the cannon too long is just hypothetical. IF there was enough ammo to squeeze and hold the trigger long enough then yes. Either way, the momentary bursts are for accuracy/precision and the conservation of ammo (typically 1150 rounds).

Just an FYI. The A-10 can fire the guns without worrying about stalling out as the gun’s knock back would have to counter act the thrust of the engines. Therefore the jet stalling out due to firing the weapons is not a concern.
One thing I don't like about playing jets is when the "Pro" attack jet players will do a head-on with you, and when you realize it's too late, and you both collide.
And yes, if it weren't for the A-10s gibbon arm wingspan I would've narrowly avoided colliding in one of those dangerous games of chicken.
Unfortunately I was too late to dodge the oncoming enemy jet and the guy called me a low skill rammer. :(

You play really well with the bird, make a video with your settings to fly the bird, like the keybinds and sensitivity. I used to be good too with the little bird back in the days playing BF4 on PS4, now I'm crashing a lot playing on PC lol. Trying to get in shape for the next battlefield.

The thing is that the a10 in bf4 is so intimidating but at the same time it's the worst attack jet compared to the other two due to its size. And the q5 is superior to the a10 because its low profile and it has that better visibility when freelooking
Also waiting for that full squad on the transport or scout heli. The pilot must be support and run indirect fire because the last level will supply on vechicles. Two engines with semi auto shotguns with frags and two people on the miniguns.
