I love how Jesse is just as neurotic in real life as the characters he plays.
idk he seems a lot more normal but he definitely still talks fast af
He basically plays himself in every role. Michael Cera is similar.
Hhahhaahahha yep
No wonder Kristen Stewart loves working with him. They're both socially awkward and sometimes kinda nervous yet it's the main reason why they got along so well
It’s called uppers, specifically amphetamines
I like how Kieran won an Emmy like 4 days ago and just appears in Park City to sit w Mark Zuckerberg for a few minutes
He’s had an insane week. Critics Choice award on Sunday, Emmy on Monday and now I’m seeing multiple reviews calling his performance in this movie he’s in “his best performance ever.”
@@Saigeee333 It was for Succession right?
@@amendtheman yes
13:20 the part about Lex Luthor
Thanks alot, man!!
Legend
Thanks
Saved me a lot of 2 awkward men probably not knowing how to answer questions,
Thankyou sir
@@aarkproductionsnot at all
great interview!! they're both such interesting people and every interview and performance they're in, i'm so engaged. hopefully the movie will be available to see soon, looking forward to it :)
Just watched Jesse Eisenberg’s directorial debut, it wasn’t entirely what I was expecting, but it was interesting. I’m excited to see the new movie hes directed
If you can’t tell he is entirely jacked off an insane amount of uppers you’re either delusional or naive.
I really want Macaulay and Keiran Culkin both starring in a Jesse Eisenberg film.. a Comedy-Drama or and film as brothers as well
Actors always seem to make great directors because they understand both sides of the camera, and they know how they want to be treated by a director.
how is the audio this bad on a Variety interview???
I appreciate Kieran Culkin bringing the talking to a normal speed, ironic because he's on Succession.
Looking forward to the film!
Jesse talks so damn fast, brothers on speed.
He is he talks about it in one of his books he takes a lot of meds
He reminds me of Woody Allen but on more coke.
It would be interesting to see Nicholas Hoult do a "Jesse Eisenberg" Lex Luthor. I still think of the Gene Hackman version from the Christopher Reeves Superman, but that was more of a comedic take on Luthor (for a criminal mastermind, he doesn't exactly have much of a team that works with him). I wonder if Hoult would pick up ideas from when he worked with Nick Cage.
The Lex from the DCAU is the best version of Lex
whereas Jesse Eisenberg was NOT a comedic take whatsoever. good contrast. just good serious acting that didn't ruin anything at all
Michael Rosenbaum was the GOAT. He will probably draw inspiration from that since he’s playing a younger Lex too.
I enjoyed watching them together in this very much. Like Jesse I would’ve thought they’d be similar but they really aren’t. They both have this ranting way about them (in a good way) but Jesse is neurotic and lovely while Kieren has this strangely calm neurotic loveliness. I am a huge fan of them both. Awesome.
I love Kieran so freaking much.
Jesse speaks so fast I legitimately thought that I had accidentally set the speed to 1.25
If you put it on 0.75 it feels so normal
the back of my head enjoyed this interview
is jesse training to do a Woody Allen biopic with that neurotic energy :D
Let's not forget... He has acted in Woody Allen movies..
jesse and kieran are such class acts
i love how kieran declined an offer on camera i feel like ive never seen that
Jessie Eisenberg is a legend for doing for Nicholas Hout. Great actors.
What you wrote just makes no gdamn sense boy get your head checked .
@@Dr_Jim57 My head is fine.
He would have made a better Riddler than a Luthor. Luthor has charisma to him, he has the ability to intimidate. Didnt feel thar during the BvS
Comments like yours show you have no frame of reference to these characters other than what you've seen on the screen.
@@dobi287 if you believe he was a great Luthor sure. I'm just saying it was a trash representation of one of Supermans most interesting villains. Yeah he was just too eccentric to be luthor, the character almost reminded of Jim Carreys Riddler is what I meant.
@@JBFranny I knew exactly who you meant. It wasn't a poor representation. Real estate schemes or befriending a "15" year old while you're in your twenties is poor representation. No rhyme nor reason. Luthor has been "eccentric" from the beginning. He originated as a literal "mad scientist"
@@dobi287your completely wrong and thick son . I have folloaed Superman since I was a young pup now im 72 years young and wont stand for these woke takeovers !!!
@@dobi287 perhaps people are more used to a cooler, calm and collected Luthor, maybe it's the comics before infinite crisis but I've not seen a luthor act like this. Probably why majority hated Eisenbergs interpretation of Luthor
why is the auio an video so bad? is it literally 2006?
thanks! I was checking my headphones like crazy to see if anything was working wrong...but no,it was the audio of the video
Funny enough my headphones were faulty - they started working 5 mins ago - and this made me think they’d broken again
yeah. it's hard to distinguish outside and inside noise. super annoying@@firstlast9846
not just the audio, the guys aren't even in focus!
This has nothing to do with Lex Luthor or Nicholas Hoult....
13:20
All of a sudden, I want to watch The Social Network 😂
Whatever they are on, I want 😂
Someone said it. Jesse way more than Keiran.
I mean...here's your Odd Couple remake right here.
I am excited to watch Jesse Eisenberg movie 'A Real Pain'
Lol I love how they started with "Oh, come on it wasn't that bad!" But stopped before they finished lol
no one could convince me I didn't hear a "that" about to start
I wouldn't put it all on Jesse but I agree, please, never make Lex like that again
As long as Hoult doesn't play it like Hugh Grant like most of his recent output, he should be good.
Yeah, nothing says Hugh Grant like Beast, Nux, an assistant to Dracula and so on roll 🙄. Seems that you have the same energy as the but Robert Pattinson is the twilight guy kinda people
Living in the future and the anxiety of what can go wrong. Oh man I feel you.
Anyone remember Jesse was in a animated movie called Rio?
Jesse es todo lo que pensé Kieran sería jjajajaja. Quiero ver esta películaaaa
Why is this slightly sped up?
Jesse speaks like that
Considering he was the worst Lex Luthor ever put onscreen in the entire history of cinema, you should probably do the exact opposite of everything Jesse Eisenberg says
god i love kieran culkin......
They are a chaotic mess! I’m in!😂
Jesse is not one I would want around much, HA, because he is so brilliant and I would imagine a constant stream of verbage. Whew. Both are stellar.
Jesse was born to play Woody Allen in a biopic.
That's exactly the vibe I got, and considering what hollywood's track record has been in terms of squirrelly, fast-talking, opinionated Jewish filmmakers, I think Jesse Eisenberg has a long and fruitful directing career in front of him
How has Jessie Eisenberg turned into the more neurotic Woody Allen? #noshade 🤪
Haha literally had the same thought
Hopefully only the neurotic speech is similar lol
I checked multiple times during this video to make sure I didn’t accidentally put this video on 1.25 speed
Rude of the interviewer to almost say "oh it wasn't that bad" to the Lex Luther question
The world was never really ready for Jesse Eisenberg.
Jessie givin real hard Woody Allen energy here
Jesse is FLYING right now. Say no to drugs
some people just speak that quickly. I have been accused of the same
@@antiphon000 same, I have ADHD. But I also know when someone’s on coke
Kieren is like the real life Ed Norton from Birdman
For a segment sponsored by "Audible", you'd think you would get the audio to function on both the left and right channels. Yikes
Yeah, great way to promote their movie Variety. Talking about a superhero movie that hasn't begun filming yet to a guy who didn't wow audiences as that character in his last appearance 7 years ago. and making the 1 last second question the headline of this video
Next they’re gonna do a buddy cop movie
The audio is mixed left. It sucks with headphones. I’d love to watch it… but I want to listen with both ears. Can’t handle the weird mix.
Jesse Eisenberg took too much adderal before this interview lol.
I grew up loving Jesse’s movies and love Kieran as Roman but being in a room with these two would give me all kinds of anxiety.
"what do you think of audio as a storytelling medium" well I can tell you that I'm not a fan of listening to it in one ear
I hope Now you see me 3 & Zombieland 3 happen in the near future.
Zombieland for sure
Social Network + Vivarium = FTW.
I don't blame him for that performance because he was hired to do a job, but it was always a weird casting decision from the very beginning.
Audio mixing is giving me a headache
Weird phrasing for the interviewer to preface the only question not about either of these two or their projects as "the most important" question.
I have a lot of faith on Holt actually.
i checked video speed twice :))
Eisenberg, you could use some sun.... maybe eat more. You're aging out way entirely too fast. I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true. Fruits and vegetables, man. Fruits and vegetables. And what I'm recently learning water does a body good. To your health! (I raise my water bottle to you). Cheers!
Jesse needs to play Saitama in Sony's One Punch-man movie, you have the vibe, please audition for the role.
Jesse Eisenberg was going to Pixar Animation Studio, Jesse Eisenberg wants to perform Fantastic Beasts and Jesse Eisenberg is gonna be in PAW Patrol: The Third Movie
why do you smile like somebody's holding you at gunpoint
@@h0lly_blue because you shot at people
Somebody definitely is@@h0lly_blue
Jesse just isn’t Lex Luthor. Everyone has roles they aren’t right for and Lex is one for Jesse. He would’ve been a great Riddler though.
Ask him about Rowina
Oh, I thought it was Jesse Eisenberg with Nicholas Hoult.
To me he was the best Lex Luthor. I know Lex Luthor as we know is this bald guy from HQ but it was very nice to see this development from him being a young genius that you dont expect that him can cause you harm to become this psychopath scientist with such a big envy on Clark Kent always quoting book phrases. That was pretty cool.
Theyre like twin brothers
Harry Potter looks as young as ever and that Home Alone kid too...
When did Woody Allen possess Jesse Esinberg?
With the right direction Jesse would've been a good Luthor. Having him being like a Silicon Valley billionaire techbro was a good idea. Him acting like some kind of version of the Joker was not.
Some kind of version of the joker? How
That advice goes without saying.
How does Jesse Eisenberg look like he regressed in age
Maybe he should watch him to see what not to do
I fear Mr Eisenberg is on drugs in this clip.
For most others people would say cocaine or adderall. Wonder what stereotype is preventing that here?
it's just social anxiety
@@RuthwikRao I know. I’m saying people would often say drugs were involved as it’s excessive. But they haven’t really with Jesse
@@adamdrakestudio cuz i think people know about it a lot more cuz he himself has admitted to it multiple times and it's more normalised now that this kinda anxiety is not as uncommon perhaps?
If only he played lex as lex an not as jim Carreys riddler.
We could have had black zod in the flash movie I just want more black roles and a gender swap universe‼️
Imagine for a moment Jesse is wearing a wig. I almost don't believe it because who would chose that.
video title is pretty stupid, it should've in someway talked about their upcoming film "A Real Pain" but variety just wants to pull in the DC fanboys for views
Jesse talks so fast 😅
Jake gilenhaal get out of Curren's body.
He wears glasses now because he's a serious filmmaker.
(fart noise)
He's been wearing glasses all his life 😐... Jeezz, you guys just wanna hate sometimes
I’m sorry but how and why does Jesse still look 21!
Clickbaity and disrespectful title. That was just a tiny fraction of the video about a movie both of them talked about.
❤
❤❤❤
Jesse Eisenberg - i have a script and real story about: Facebook Remastered -
shortly: he was fight with a refugee camps and he was protect his account with a laptop but dark side is get more money and pay for a advocates to put him on the street in a cold winter - so we hope a god is see this and he can help)
Modern man is quite depressing.
Don't mistake internet man or drama school softie for modern man
Jesse's on coke or speed? Bruv, just chill out
He's just like that.
Is he coked out rn or I’m i tripping why’s bro taking so fast
Just how he talks
Was this shot by a potato?
His Lex was not good at all.
😮
whoever did the audio for this interview is fucking terrible lol
I thought his advice would be not to act like a fucking muppet.
Worst casting in the entire DC universe. Absolutely the worst interpretation of Lex Luthor that has ever been done. Eisenberg should be banned from ever watching a comic book film or even reading a comic book.
...Do the opposite and you'll be fine!
It was funny the way Jesse made himself look like a total fucking asshole when doing press for "Now You See Me"
Jesse Eisenberg literally plays the same character in every single movie he is in lol the guy has zero depth
Is bro on coke here?
