Omg i thought he was so much older.. Thst character had so many layers of bs amd he actually played him with compassion.. 16.. Bro.. Did not expect that
I mean, he cheated a bunch of times on Jennifer Lawrence when they were together and then got a girl pregnant right after they broke up, but yeah, super grounded. That said, I do like him as an actor.
my partner actually likes Warm Bodies, I originally watched and had it and when we got together I put it on and multiple times in our first couple years he'd ask to watch it

The Wealth Generator Holt was in a film called THE BANKER a true story a working man who pretended to be a Bank&Real Estate Owner that sold homes to black people in the early '50s in Los Angeles the film starred ANTHONY MACKIE, SAMUEL L. JACKSON and NIA LONG.
He's freaking amazing and I'm just going back now and going through his roles and oh he was in that oh my God and that and that oh Jesus Christ who is this guy I was intrigued at the Golden Globes cuz I think he was nominated and now it's like man he is quite something
An underrated actor imo. He was the best side character in all the x men movies he was in, and def had the best performance in all of fury road to me. I think he’s gonna go on to Star in several more real classics like fury road.
that first iteration with that OG cast was just fantastic. I knew watching it at the time we were going to be seeing some of those actors again. Was fun to watch Nick's career take off knowing i'd got in on what was essentially the ground floor and also when Hannah Murray and Joe Dempsie popped up in Game of Thrones.
I remember watching Skins when studying abroad, and while the entire cast is brilliant Nicholas immediately stood out to me as a serious acting talent. It’s been great watching his career flourish, here’s to him continuing to kill it.
He's one of those actors when you discover him (like I did in The Great), he looks very familiar and then you're compelled to see his IMDb page, and it's like "oh, that's right, he was in that movie!" He's a good actor.
I just rewatched About a boy. Such a wonderful film. After seeing what an amazing job he did as a kid in About a boy, I can see why he would have wanted to portray Sid. Although, I'm glad he didn't because he was such a perfect Tony. Overall, Nicholas is a brilliant actor. Thank you for this interview.
I love that this series is continuing. But I think GQ could afford to send the stars a Facebook Portal Plus so they have easy access to guaranteed top quality video and sound clips to edit. Really love Mr. Hoult too. Can't wait to see him in more films and later in life being a great leading man.
Both Warm Bodies and Jack the Giant Slayer came out when I was 12 years old. I vividly remember watching the latter at a drive-in theatre and I can’t tell y’all how many times I’ve watched Warm Bodies since. I bought it on iTunes ASAP and it was always my go-to movie for traveling, free time, or just for a feel good night. Now I absolutely adore The Great! Nicholas is simply killing the game.
just completed all the seasons of skins last week, watching interviews of every actor talk of the show, and hadn't found much of Nicholas Hoult. now this drops in the perfect time, i'm so happy
It's crazy that major media's using webcam footage when they can just ask them to use the main camera of a separate unit while the interviewee talks on the webcam.
sopapia Bruce actually I was letting you know for future reference, in no way was it judgment. It was more along the lines of hey I wouldn’t want you to be embarrassed in the future. Online, sometimes intentions can be lost.
I don't get why all these companies record the screen footage of the video call instead of getting the celebrities to record themselves using their phone or camera (they gotta have one) and sending that he footage
Oh!!!!He's a good nice and gorgeous actor....so he has gorgeous beautiful and stunning blue eyes lucky him and he is lucky much to have blue eyes like some who have blue eyes....😁😁😍😍🙂🙂❤👍🏻
My family LOVES “about a boy.” That was the only thing I ever saw him until years later when I discovered, with SHOCK, he was the good looking guy with the small part in “clash of the titans.” Now he’s got a pretty good career under his belt.
So talented and handsome❤ Sometimes he reminds me of Sam Claflin (they should play brothers in some film) But also sometimes Nick reminds me of Tom Cruise when he was younger. Such an amazing actor, I loved "The Great" !!! 👑
GQ should make a breakdown about ceremonial military units (guard changes etc). You could have a guard, a marine or a British guardsman to judge it. It would be nice to include the Greek Evzones in it.
I clicked like on all the comments about his performance in The Great. His Peter is just so funny in the show and despite all the horrible stuff his character does in it, he still gets you to care about Peter.
Didn’t realise how many movies I’ve seen with him in it! Idk why I never really recognised him in his roles. A lot of them had makeup so maybe I’m just bad at recognising facing with makeup or hair changes? Hahahaha Fab actor! 🙌🏻
I agree but I think he needs about ten years of age to do it convincingly. Without the beard he has extreme baby face. He was near the top of the list though.
Funny looking back at Skins. Everyone thought that Kaya Scodelario and Jack O’Connell would become big stars, but they didn’t. And I don’t think a lot of us betted on Dev Patel and Daniel Kaluuya. Before their big breaks in movies, I didn’t think much of them, but here they are :)
I clicked on this solely for A Single Man. He's right about the audience projecting onto his character. I wanted him to be flirting with Firth and genuinely want to be with him (professor/student inappropriateness aside). I just wanted Firths character to be comforted. For him to find some happiness, even if fleeting, to take him out of his pain. Hoult's blue eyes are also incredibly mesmerizing. I felt as if he was seducing me! haha
It is crazy that he was actually 16 in skins. In American shows, they will have someone 26 play 16
Like Euphoria

Riverdale
And pretty much all the actors in the entirety of skins were 16-19 when they filmed! It wasn't just Nicholas
He seems like a really grounded person for someone who was a child actor and is still working. I like him a lot.
I mean, he cheated a bunch of times on Jennifer Lawrence when they were together and then got a girl pregnant right after they broke up, but yeah, super grounded. That said, I do like him as an actor.
@atmosvere get over it buddy. That's Hollywood cheating and getting someone pregnant is a part of recipe of an actor.
He's my bae!
atmosvere wtf, when he cheated on Jlaw?
@@W4TSKY that’s literally not true but go off
I remember him in Skins and I thought "Yeah, I am going to see this guy again" and I was right! Only the best in the future for Nicholas
He's gotten so much better since Tony Stonem!!!! Love him
Recommend "The Great." His and Elle Fanning's performances were great.
a lot of talented people had their first roles in skins
Him and Kaya were mesmerizing on Skins!
He's a child actor!
Warm bodies was such a good movie. People don’t talk about it enough.
People don't talk much "About A Boy" and that's a beautiful book/ film
my partner actually likes Warm Bodies, I originally watched and had it and when we got together I put it on and multiple times in our first couple years he'd ask to watch it
I watched it when I was in high school and LOVED IT. Just finished it again today and it still holds solid. I also love Teresa Palmer
That's true

Maybe bc he was so good as Tony, i cant picture him as Sid at all.

Binged The Great yesterday, he did an amazing job with Peter, you love him and dislike him at the same time.
Yes! And he was so hilarious in the role!
Same! He is great in comedies!
He's freaking amazing and I'm just going back now and going through his roles and oh he was in that oh my God and that and that oh Jesus Christ who is this guy I was intrigued at the Golden Globes cuz I think he was nominated and now it's like man he is quite something
Huzzah!
I read he had to finish that show and sadly couldn’t play Gabriel in Dead Reckoning after Tom Cruise liked his audition for Top Gun Maverick
An underrated actor imo. He was the best side character in all the x men movies he was in, and def had the best performance in all of fury road to me. I think he’s gonna go on to Star in several more real classics like fury road.
I actually met nicholas hoult at my local park while i was doing pull ups, and he came to join me. Really polite and friendly person
I've never been so jealous of someone until i read this comment
please tell me what park this was in !!
Paddington recreation park
I would have ravished him
No fair 😭
The best,Tony Stonem in the original UK Skins hands down.
that first iteration with that OG cast was just fantastic. I knew watching it at the time we were going to be seeing some of those actors again. Was fun to watch Nick's career take off knowing i'd got in on what was essentially the ground floor and also when Hannah Murray and Joe Dempsie popped up in Game of Thrones.
At this point, just seeing his name on the cast list is enough to pique my interest, because he picks such interesting projects to be in.
Finally he talks about skins!!! The best show I’ve ever watched!! Tony stonemmmm
I'M HERE FOR SKINS 😂😭 I'm so proud of him!!!! How far his come x
How far *he's come.
Love him in “The Great”. So well acted u love him n hate him all at the same time.
completely, and pity him too
My favourite part is at the S1 part10 when he cried .
I remember watching Skins when studying abroad, and while the entire cast is brilliant Nicholas immediately stood out to me as a serious acting talent. It’s been great watching his career flourish, here’s to him continuing to kill it.
Wow, he literally described all the things I'm interested in regarding movies and acting, and what an erudite young man.
Fantastic interview 👍🏻
Never thought of it before but I could totally see him as Sid, given his roles prior.
Who is Sid?
Another character in Skins
He and Sam Clufflin should play brothers somewhere.
or lovers
and ed skrein
Claflin.
oH MY GOD, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
YES WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABT THIS MORE
He did such a good job playing Peter in The Great. I mean I really hated that character, but that was the point!
That beard looks bloody great on him
Currently watching "The Great." It's hard to believe this is the same guy. Lol
Wish they would have included Equals, a really underrated film.
No! They skipped Equals? That's my favorite Nicholas Hoult movie.
I love how versatile he is as an actor! I would happily watch anything he's in.
Also, both Mad Max and About a Boy are among my favourite movies.
Those AirPods sounds horrible, glad he still did the interview!
Passed over The Current War. Would have loved to hear him talk about Tesla.
Such a well-spoken guy! Can't wait to see what he gets up to in the next few years!
The guy has always been a grounded actor and always delivered a great performance in his roles.

He was iconic as Tony. So talented ❤️
I wish they would have shipped him a proper mic so the audio quality was better.
Requesting Post COVID redo haha
Hold up. He did a whole audition in Stewie Griffin's voice lol!?!? We need that footage ASAP.
Why isn’t anyone else talking about this lmao
Goddamnit! I wisu it happened
Nick doesn't get enough love for his performance in The Favourite.
A lovely actor and such an endearing chap to listen to!
Love him ❤️ I wish they included Equals, Newness, and The Banker
I loved him in “Warm Bodies” ♥️
I loved about a boy when it came out and remember being very excited that his career started taking off when he popped up in skins.

Yeah but Pattinson is great as well

I think he's such a fantastic actor. If they ever remade The House of the Seven Gables, I think he'd be a great Holgrave.
