- So there was a huge leak of the Tau Codex on the Tau40k subreddit but a user called CodexCat
/ dynamic_entry
The leaks look genuine enough but obviously we gotta wait for the full codex to confirm all the details.
Some good, some bad but you can't say it's boring!
My powerpoint with the summary as I could find them..
docs.google.co...
Reading through the leaks, a maxed out unit of Crisis Suits with twelve shield drones flying around seems utterly insane.
yeah, still don't like the change for the increasing prices on the weapons for crisis suits tho..
Bit of a mixed bag, I can't decided how positive overall everything is.... I'm looking forward to the new codex and really hope it's a big jump for the faction 😁
I think they're gonna be much more shooty, but without the overwatch and ftgg they'll take more close combat damage. It's a nice balance
@@GoodEnoughWargaming have to rely on movement then they've certainly got that. I like how the riptide can get a cheeky 2D6 movement in the charge phase aka run away 🤣
Very powerful weapons, cheaper and better crisis suits, very dangerous vehicles, more mobile troops with the disembark strat, much much much better access to +1BS, suits are infantry, vehicles can shoot ML and move, kroot statline buffed. I almost couldn't be happier. Everything Tau needed to be competitive with suits being able to shoot in combat
@@SimplyWarhammer will this go with the strat that's like jump shoot jump?
@@fraserknox9417 would assume so, need the new codex to verify 😁
I hope Riptides are still good. Because of the leaks, it's not looking like it sadly.
Hopefully when we get the book Riptides are still ok.
Cold star feels like a feels bad. I loved the crazy movement he had.
I sadly kind of hope that some of these leaks are not true
i think Riptides will be OK, the main thing with them will be they're now heavy support so they're competing against broadside and hammerheads. plus I think the skyray might be worth looking at with the leaked rules for it's seeker missile rack.
Someone else pointed out the coldstar can buff a unit of crisis suits to give them 8 inch advance, so that totally changes his role, from zipping around blasting to taking a unit of crisis as a ball of death (hopefully).
I don't like losing the overwatch and FTGG but I'm hoping the buffed guns make up for it in the shooting phase.
Coldstar didnt make sense 2me. Its not q plane and not a tank. Just weird
I like the drones being added to a unit but the loss in flexibility is concerning. Really don’t like the new sept rules, out of everything I hope those aren’t true
yeah there is nothing that really grabs you as being really good or game changing.
Codexcat said the new coldstar can buff a crisis unit, giving them and 8” advance. In case you were looking for a reason to take one lol
Ooohh now that might be worth it! If the crisis unit can keep up with the coldstar then you could use them to quickly move around the table jumping on objectives or targeting enemy units left exposed...
@@GoodEnoughWargaming but can they still shoot after advancing?
I didn't see anything that said they couldn't, but it should have the same penalties as any other advance
@@UKAndrewL with mont'ka yes. Count as inmobile for all purposes.
so is the cat sold withof the new codex? or sold separately?
I think you get one with the collectors edition...
