2008 Yamaha R6 Smog Block Off Plates Install 2007 and up How to video

block off plates install on a 2008 yamaha yzf r6. This removes all of the factory smog crap that dumps fresh oxygen into the headers. When you run a full exhaust on the r6, eliminating the catylytic converter, it will pop really bad on decel until you install these.

It should get MUCH better. The block off plates are meant to be used in conjunction with an autotuner, or a custom dyno tune.

I'll give you a little tip, if you're working on something Japanese every bolt is metric. I noticed you used a 5/32 Allen early in the video, that should have been a 4, 5, or 6 mm Allen bolt

Yo so what happens if I disconnect the plug from the smog sensor without putting on block off plates. Will it cause any problems. I recently replaced coils and plugs and that smog connection was weak. (Someone had fucked with the wiring before me) now my bike wont turn over like its getting no spark at all

I definetely noticed a difference in the sound. It sounded better, less popping. Definetely worth the effort, and probably better for your bike

doesnt stop decel pop when these are installed. I have a full system and flashed edu with block off plates and my bike still pops after.
