Ut Queant Laxis a 6 - Willem Cuelaars - Nederlands Kamerkoor

Born in 1962, Willem Cueleers is an organist, singer, but above all composer. Very exceptionally, he composes in a 16th-century compositional style, uninfluenced by other more recent musical styles. "Ut queant laxis a 6 sopra" was written by Willem Cueleers especially for the Nederlands Kamerkoor, to fit into our series of performances on the hexachord.
Ut queant laxis a 6 sopra is the seventh work performed by the @NederlandsKamerkoor under the direction of conductor and early music specialist Paul van Nevel, in which we delved into the world of the hexachord ut-re-mi-fa-sol-la, the forerunner of the well-known do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si-do on which Western music is based.
